"Huge resort was empty in the off season compared to its size! Cheap rooms, very clean, nice staff and front desk were all family always there to great you, beautiful restaurant that does a BBQ overlooking the ocean for dinner with nice lights. Nice pool overlooking ocean. Is at end of haad yao beach and you can walk along it easily. Near a 7eleven for those wanting cheap water and snacks. Only complaint is haad yao is locked in by expensive restaurants 80 cheapest - 300 baht. No market stall style eating here "

"Good location for haad Yao beach, Very friendly an polite staff. Clean apartment with nice views an the hammock on our balcony was a bonus’s. We stayed an extra 2 nights an had all our meals at the resort. Nice Thai an western food. "

"Every stuff person is so nice - they smile every second and is very helpful even some of them don't speak english well. The food in a restaurant is very good - we tried a lot of restaurants and street food in Thailand, but Tom Yum Kung soup and chilli red fish were the best in here. Hotel managers are very friendly, they offer a bike (booked from friends), booked a boat ticket to Koh Tao, did laundry - everything you actually need they can do. Hotel has a nice pool, that is busy during a day time, they offer Thai massage, too. We booked a sea view bungalow that was nice, just water was really low so is not the best place to swim (we really offer you to visit Bottle Beach - it's perfect place to swim, or Haad Rin, that during day time is quite calm and good swimming beach). Our bungalow had jus some minuses - you cant shut the windows tightly, so a few lizards came inside; also a bed is huge, but it's two separate mattresses, so not so comfortable for a couple. Anyway, rent a bike - you can easily reach every part of Koh Phangan and come back to a calm nice place ant Haad Salad."

"In general, everything was pretty good. The location of the hostel is very convenient, just 2min walk from Haad Yao Beach. Also the restaurant has very good food at decent price. The only disadvantage was quite the strong smell from the sewerage inside our bungalow"

"I've travelled in over 20 countries and I have never done a review before, but Sun Moon Star deserves my praise. This is my favorite place. Period. The rooms are individual, absolutely stunning, and are more like small cottages-- but very new and modern, but with lots of charm. The staff will treat you like family, and go above and beyond for their guests. I live in Palau and this room would cost hundreds USD there-- even in the states this room would cost way more than they charge-- the value is excellent-- unbeatable . And you'll never find better staff-- extremely nice people-- drove me when I needed a ride, helped me out whenever I needed it. Food is excellent there too. -- I would highly recommend Sun Moon Star to anyone - couples, families, groups or solo travelers like me.this is the one hotel that is actually better than the pictures and the reviews on agoda-- I would absolutely give Sun Moon Star the highest rating--the rooms / cottages are perfect. Like I said, modern but very charming, wonderful patios to sip coffee, brand new everything, beds are ultra clean and comfortable. It is also extremely close to Haad Yao beach (just walk down the path) - that's the best all around beach on Koh Phangnan. Stuff to do, good establishments - but not over the top. The staff is family and they will make sure anything you need or want is taken care of. They speak good English and can arrange anything you need."

"WE have stayed only for one night because we had to go to the other beach to our friends, but It was sad to leave it. The lady on the reception was super friendly and helpful, gave us an upgraded pool access room, cause we ve only stayed for one night. The beach is beutiful, the restaurant is also great. I would recommend this hotel to any one who stays in Haad Yao beach. Great rooms for the money. Absolutely great!"
