"It was an enjoyable stay for 2 nights at the hotel. the room was spacious, lots of shelves and very clean. The amenities were excellent, however it would be so much helpful if a simple instruction on how to use the Unakafe coffee machine was made available. For the comfort of the bed and pillow, I would rate 7 out of 10 for the bed and only 4 for the pillow. The breakfast overall tasted good but for a five star hotel, the variant of food should be more. Coffee tasted great. Staff at the check in counter, restaurant, lobby (including driver for shuttle service) and room service were friendly and very attentive to customer needs. Location wise, it was very close to Galaxy Mall and the city centre. "

"Disadvantage(s) (of Room 1045): - No WIFI (throughout 10th floor). they said it's under maintenance, but I know it's crap. - No AC remote. AC will turn on by the time you turn on electricity. Chances are: you're freezing the entire time staying there, or turn off electricity (no phone charging, no lights). I feel that the remote was broken and they don't want to replace it. - TV remote was not working. so you can't watch TV too. perfect time to contemplate? LOL - No bidet spray. the staff will tell you to use shower spray instead. Cebok and Mandi from the same shower. Nice. - Parking is NOT free. they give you one-time free parking. you don't have to pay for one time, the rest of time you're getting out of the parking lot, prepare your cash. If you're staying for a night, I think you'll just accept the condition. But if you're staying more than a night, you might consider to file a complaint. "All these years, I always stay at (conventional) hotel during business trip or personal vacation. Just few years back I try to get alternative and homestay, villas, cottage, bungalow and many other names are my option. They have one thing in common, almost all are used to be a residence, home of a family. In Surabaya, I am glad to find Rumah Kertajaya- this will my absolute choice during visit this city.
