Overall I was very impressed with the friendly staff and the location (i.e proximity to shopping, gas stations, restaurants etc.. ) and also Sandton which is about a 15-20 min drive. The only complaints were a lack of hair dryer,iron press and remote control for the TV in the room and having to pay a deposit for them (remote control I believe was not available even for a deposit)

This hotel is at the entrance to the Brightwater shopping centre car park. The most important thing about staying in todays South Africa is safety and security. The Grace is a warm and cost boutique hotel in a great location - we have stayed here many times and always enjoyed it. They have nice extra touches, like complimentary scones and jam in the lobby lounge every afternoon, and complimentary canapes every evening. The hotel restaurant is one of the best in Johannesburg. Upon check in the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I found the room spacious as a single traveler. The bed was comfortable with a selection of firm or soft pillows. The bathroom shower was very good with great pressure and choice of two shower heads. The shopping centre right next door to the hotel was excellent with a huge variety of shops, stores and various eateries and two to three companies to buy a local sim card at what I thought was reasonable price as I was in South Africa for 8 days. The breakfast was excellent with a vast variety of good quality food. Would I stay here again ? Yes I would.

The Westcliff is situated in a good part of Johannesburg and just a short walk from the zoo. The staff at Reception were unbelievably helpful in day-to-day issues, in arranging visits and helping get tickets for shows etc. As Johannesburg is a very large city it was really helpful that the hotel organize a free shuttle service (there and return) to various Malls and ve...The Westcliff is situated in a good part of Johannesburg and just a short walk from the zoo. The staff at Reception were unbelievably helpful in day-to-day issues, in arranging visits and helping get tickets for shows etc. As Johannesburg is a very large city it was really helpful that the hotel organize a free shuttle service (there and return) to various Malls and venues close to the hotel. The standard of bedrooms is wonderful with each room having a "Tardiss-like" pod at the end of the bed which turned out to be a hidden TV which emerged on pressing a bedside switch! We had two separate stays in different parts of the hotel grounds - both excellent. The only criticism we had was that the breakfast costs were not included and were quite pricey on top of a fairly expensive room rate. The access to free internet in the Business Centre was good.

If you have ever been to Greece before the theme in this hotel will remind you of it. I found the place as well as the staff very welcoming. Even though I had messed up my booking Elna who works in reservations graciously assisted me in restoring my original booking with all my requests.
