DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur
KLCC,British High Commission - View on map
"Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights mid year and overall it was a wonderful experience. The rooms were spacious and modern and the breakfast simply amazing! Stayed at many 5 star properties around the world and this was one of the best breakfasts ever. It was quite cheap too The only shortfall i would say would be the location. Having previously stayed at Traders which is right next to Suria KLCC and Pavillion, Hilton is a tad far from the centre, esp if you enjoy having a casual stroll to the shops. A taxi is only a 5 minutes ride however if you wanted to walk out and about, theres not really anything around. But overall, very happy with the hotel and their service."

Corus Hotel

"We have fond memories of the hotel when it was still Ming Court and we have stayed at Corus Hotel London a couple of times. When we stayed here recently we found the hotel lives up to its name in providing the services normally found in 5 star hotels though with less frills. So it is really great value for money. It is therefore not surprising that this attracted crowds you normally come accross when you stay at cheaper hotels. I do not have problem with this but may be a problem to those with attitudes who would quickly move to the nearest five or six star hotels nearby. I like the business philosopy of Corus in going into the middle range of the market. There are already too many luxurious hotels with all the frills catering for the "high" class travels but few that provide the comfort offered by the classy hotels but at a much less price. The majority of travellers with families do belong to the middle range of the market who would not be comfortable to stay at three star or budget hotels. So keep up and keep your niche. It would be good business and a big favour for the majority of global travellers. "

"After reading the reviews, I choosed this hotel for my family short trip in KL. Booked a 3 Bedroom Premier Suite, requested for high floor and a baby cot which was given to us. The room was spacious for big family (4 Adult 6 Children) and even had room for the kids to run around playing hide and seek. Every room had prayer mat. Loved the facilities here, the swimming pool (we had a great time with the kids), sauna and not to forget the self service laundry. We tried the breakfast at the hotel. There was alot of choices but the best was the pastry! Would like to compliment the lady staff manning the lobby cafe, the lady manning the mini shop and also one of the guy from the Binjai restaurant who attended to us for IRD (Room 2506). All 3 staff was exceptional and friendly. Downside is that we had problems with thr elevator or keycards. Not once but many times. We were stuck in the lift on our 1st night for quite some time till we had to wait for the lift to go down back to lobby. Very frustrating. Receptionist wasnt very helpful till we had to request the lady to come and follow us to the lift. We observed that this issue happen when using the 1st lift on the left. It is not only us having this issue. You guys might want to check on this. Just to add on, from checking in, mid and out, the receptionist staff esp the ladies wasnt welcoming. Need to improve on this. Overall our family loved our stay here..except for the elevator and we will definitely choose to stay here again next time!"

Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur Hotel

"It's expensive. But money is worth it. And for me the best pool in the whole area of high class hotels in KLCC. Another thing, customer service. This is my favourite staycation hotel to bring the family because of just that. And they remembered me, my wife. Even the restaurant JP Terrace also welcomes me with a smile and old banter like family. And I am no royalty ya, just a member of the normal public that gets pampered by them once and awhile when my allowances afford me these luxuries."

Somerset Kuala Lumpur

"this being a new serviced-apartment, the amnenities are modern and all in pristine condition. a pleasant surprise is the bath-tub which offers a perfect wind-down at the end of a long day of shopping and feasting in kl. the mattress is wonderfully firm and you wake up totally refreshed and rejuvenated the next morning. that to me is the most crucial and useful function of a great hotel! understandably, most taxis don't know this place. tell them it's "next to british high commission". if that doesn't work, then "near the junction of jalan ampang with the big pizza hut". usually does the trick! the only gripe about this place is the distance from bukit bintang and jalan alor, respectively the retail and food heavens of kl. however, i think it is near the business district. so if you are travelling for business, that absolutely turns things in your favour! Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur

"All of their staff are very friendly and accommodating. I have booked a club room for my husband’s birthday and apart from the nice view of the twin towers, they booked us in their highest floor. The club lounge is very nice especially when we had our breakfast there with the view of the city. All the best to Mandarin Oriental. Thank you Akiko of reception for assisting our stay."

Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur
KLCC,British High Commission - View on map
"Location: Right in the KLCC area which is home to a high-end shopping mall and the magnificent Petronas towers. You can either walk to the KLCC in less than 5 minutes or wait for the hotel shuttle that comes every half an hour. The location is fantastic and very convenient. Every taxi driver knows of the Traders Hotel. Hotel Condition: Excellent and very well maintained. Nothing to complain about. The check-in/check out area is on the 5th floor and concierge is on the ground floor. Staff: Very attentive, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful, basically very well-trained! During our stay, we don’t believe we’ve ever received a “no” answer from any of the staff members. All staff we bumped into acknowledges us and addresses us professionally. Simply an outstanding crew. Service: I can sum this all down to two words: the best! Enough said. Room: Room is plain but charming and modern. I like the added couch and recliner in the room so that we can sit on it besides the bed. We had a view of the Petronas Towers and it’s an amazing, amazing view. The twin buildings are lit up like a fairytale everyday until midnight when it gets turned off. Our favorite feature has got to be the bathroom. The bathroom is built to give you a “spa-like” feeling. The shower is very unique and the sink lights up and acts as a night light…pretty neat. TV is a flat screen. Housekeeping: Housekeeping always respected our privacy and if we were still in our room when housekeeping came by, they would slip a courtesy note under our door asking us to call housekeeping whenever we’re ready. Always made up our room properly and stocked everything appropriately. Breakfast: Breakfast layout is fantastic! Variety is plenty from Western to differing Asian styles and we never got bored of the breakfast. Staff is very attentive and always made sure to greet you. I have to give it to Traders for serving only the best quality food to their customers."

InterContinental Kuala Lumpur

"It was a last minute decision to book the hotel and found the location very convenient with LRT right outside and you can literally walk 10 minutes to KLCC. The breakfast was not that wide a spread but they had all the essential brekkie stuffs. Encountered a crawlie which appeared on the table and promptly informed the staff who apologised and moved us immediately. Restaurant Manager Mohd Robae waited for us to finish our breakfast before personally attending to us to apologised about the incident. Although I said it was ok he was really concerned. This gesture was followed by a plate of fruits and a personal card from him again apologising about that incident. This is the BEST service I have received and am greatly impressed with the gestures by Mohd Robae. 10 stars. Hotel room was big, big comfy bed very comfortable and business served. Will definitely come again. Especially for the location... out of the city but nearly."

Villa Samadhi by Samadhi
KLCC,British High Commission - View on map
"It was really a wonderful experience during my one night stay over here. The location is easy to find. Just punch in "Villa Samadhi" in Waze and you will be directed there. Right when I arrived, the guard on the guardhouse checked for my booking confirmation and told me that they were expecting me! Great security here! The tall gate at the front of the hotel also offers good privacy for the customers! The parking spaces in the hotel seem limited though. I wonder what will happen if all the customers were to drive there, I don't think that the parking spaces offered will fit all the vehicles. But fortunately, on the day of my visit, there are empty parking spaces. Right after I entered the hotel ground, the security guard assisted me to my parking lot and carried my luggages to my room even before I checked in! Great service here! A staff then came out to guide me to the reception for checking in, which then followed by showing me to my room. The room was a luxe crib room which is located on the ground floor, exactly as what I have requested while making my booking. When I entered the room, I was amazed by the large and well-decorated room. I really love the design of the room using timbers! Since I am a sawmiller, I can tell that the timber flooring used in the room are of a high quality timber. As the room is on the ground floor, I have direct access to the outdoor pool from my balcony! What amazed me the most was the huge jacuzzi located in the bathroom. The jacuzzi is huge enough to easily fit in six to eight adults! Bathsalt was provided to be added into the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi is fully automatic which will start and stop at specific hours. However, it can be turned on when requested by calling the reception. It is a bit loud even when the bathroom door was shut but fortunately it automatically stops at 11pm. They also gave us some complimentary fruits and a delicious cake wishing my partner and I "Happy anniversary"! At around 6pm, three male employees came in"
