We stayed at the Hotel Pangeran City, Padang, Indonesia for a scientific seminar. The Seminar was actually held at the Hotel Pangeran Beach; same management I think. We didn't get enough room for our group at the Hotel Pangeran Beach when we booked, so we tried to searh for other hotel, and we decided to book the rooms at the Hotel Pangeran City. Our considerations were that the hotel is located in the city center, not too far from the venue of the seminar, the rate is affordable, and the pictures of the hotel condition looks good. We were quite happy with the hotel when we arrived. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable; I enjoyed the nice local/traditional breakfast. Good value for the room rate. The location is easy to reach by public transportation, and close to the local gift/souvenir shop and local food shop.

I have booked this hotel from Agoda about 2 months ago. It was smooth check in process, I and my family got our room soon as we gave our agoda's voucher. The best thing from this hotel is its location, because its located in the center of the city. The room rate also very cheap. 🙂. 2 things I didn't like about are the cleanliness of bathroom and its smell. It was quite smelly during my stay in hotel.

my trip was almost perfect although I still have several concerns. for the towel kit, they were not providing enough for such a hot city. They also do not provide any air conditioner for the hallway from the lift to my room. since I had to be in a business outfit, I was annoyed with this situation.

Poor Service”
When i check-in to the hotel at 6.00PM, there were no towels and doormat available in my room. When i ask the housekeeping, they said that they ran out of towel and we should be waiting. They have to pickup from the laundry. After 1 hour waiting and several calls to the housekeeping, finally they delivered it to my room. The room has minimal lighting. Desk lamp near the bed did not working and the bed not comfy either.

Padang Has Better”
Check in was easy enough, staff was friendly, unfortunately air-con was noisy, Toilet and shower were very old, especially shower curtain and water was like spraying all over except you standing under it. Pillows and beds practically sunk right down when you lay down. Woke up with a bad neck. Staff tends to speak too loudly outside you room.

Miserable and unhappy as the hotel corridor had a stale smell. Noisy because a lot of guest hang around the lobby.. There was lizard and cockroaches crawling inside my son shoe. It was a nightmare as we had never encounter in other two star hotels. We wanted to cancel but as we were so tired after the long journey from Bukit Tinngi we decided to stay even though we did not feel comfortable and unhappy at all. Worst experience and do hope that the hotel upgrade the rooms even though it is just a 2 or 3 stars hotel. Thanks
