Fantastic Hotel in a great location!”

arrived home yesterday after spending 6 nights at the hotel istana kuala lumpur on our way home from thailand the week before. what do i say about the hotel istana? one word... amazing!!!! this was my 5th trip to kuala lumpur and after staying in many other hotels, istana is most definitely my number 1. the difference between the hotel istana, and other hotels in it's price range for me was the outstanding customer service provided throughout the entire hotel. every single staff member we had contact with was amazing! we where given a warm greeting on every occasion we left or entered the hotel. at breakfast our every need was catered for, even to the point that when my friend was feeling unwell, our breakfast host brought her a special cup of tea with honey and lemon slices. as we stayed in a club room, we had access to even more outstanding service in the club lounge. due to the wide buffet selection offered in the club lounge during evening cocktail, we had no need to purchase diner during our stay! the staff in the club lounge where fantastic. special thankyou's to chitra, suzaini and all the club lounge team, they have provided us with outstanding service over and beyond our expectations. thankyou to everyone at the hotel istana for making our stay unforgettable. :)

Great palacial hotel with friendly service”

Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur is a big palacial hotel, right in the centre of everything in KL. We were surprised at the silverware on the tables, showing that this hotel must surely value good old fashioned service. The hotel is close to the monoral, but also an easy walk to the Bukit Bintang and the Petronas Towers and Suriya Centre. Chinatown is also only a short monorail ride away. I would certainly not hesitate recommend the Istana to anyone and will definately stay there again on my next trip to Kuala Lumpur.

Hospitality at its Finest”

I booked in another famous hotel booking site as a surprised hotel. At first, I was not so impressed as I was opting to choose another hotel. But booking was paid already and cancellation was not an option. But upon arrival at the hotel, we were brought to the corporate lounge for the check-in process served with a welcome drinks and cookies. It was a privilege for choosing club room. The hotel was relatively newly refurbished and doesn't smelled those old rundown hotels. I must say that our stay was near to perfect. The room was clean, the staff was approachable and plus we really enjoyed the high-tea buffet and evening cocktails as entitlement for booking Club Room. It was an advantage that the location was situated right at the heart of the City. It was mere 5 minutes walk to Bukit Bintang and Pavillion Mall. While going to Petronas Tower, it was only 15 minutes walking distance. Added advantage was that it was near to Green Monorail Station..the Rajah Chulan station. Also, i would like to commend the Front Desk Manager Jerame for extending her assistance to us. I would not hesitate to stay again in Hotel Istana if given a chance to travel to Kuala Lumpur again. :) :) :)

Bang for your buck”

My husband and I love to go for weekend staycations, and last weekend , we decided to opt for Istana Hotel . Once the crowning glory of Kuala Lumpur in the early days, we arrived at the check-in counter with zero expectation. We were warmly greeted at the reception desk by a charming lass, Pasang. Having been to other hotels in the city like the Mandarin Oriental and the Westin, I felt that the staff at Istana Hotel were either equally as good , or even better! I felt like their reception towards the guest were genuine , and I didn't feel like I was treated differently because I was a local ( couldn't say the same during my check in at the afore-mentioned hotels). I requested for a room on the higher floor, and Pasang , having had a word with her manager , granter our wish , and we were placed on the 17th floor with a view of the KLCC( Didn't expect that we'd be able to catch a view of KLCC considering the amount of buildings clustering around it). We werre very pleased with our room. Yes, the hotel is old, no doubt about that . There were some visible cracks in the bathroom and you have to hold down the flush a lil longer than usual . However, the warm hospitality of the hotel staff more than made up for it . I'd much rather stay at a hotel with minimal signs of aging with well-trained staff that exudes charm and warmth , then at a brand spanking new hotel with robots for hotel staff. I would definitely stay here again.

Istana Hotel Heart of KL”

Hotel is situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It is five minutes walk from the famous shopping centre Pavillion and KLCC. Light rail Metro or called LRT is just accross the street and very convenient transport to take. Food at the hotel restaurant and the breakfast buffet is awsome with lots of choice of local and international food. Cold cuts, chees, muslies, frutits, nice juices. Night life is also just down the road afamous Changkat Bukit Bintang filled with busy clubs, restaurants and bars. Bukit Bintang street is also five minutes away by walking or one station by lrt. Hotel room is spacious , clean , modern style with a nice view. The pool i did not use since they had it reserved for some functions but i eventhough i just passed by the pool i noticed that it is due for some maintenance work.

Attend Graduation ceremony in istana hotel ”

The location are conveniently to move everywhere which using own transportation or public transportation. and the breakfast was meeting quality requirements, and all the staff are very helpful. Especially 1 Indian young lady helping my mom very well and all the staff from f&b areas very helpful. Even at lobby and reception area the staff are very helpful. I would like to recommend this hotel to all the travels who Wanna to kuala lumpur. Nearest places to visit, bukit bintang, kl cc, twin towers and etc. Again thanks to all the staff from the istana hotel.

Great hotel to come back for!”

This ain't my first time staying at this hotel. In fact this is..oh my I couldn't remember as my first stay was about 5 years ago and I could say every year I will come back here quite few times. So here I am writing a review after 5 years..but better late than never right. So hotel istana is great hotel for you to come back for. Great hotel services, comfortable and well equipped room, delicious foods and of course affordable price and offers. Besides, the location is so strategic whereby it is very near to monorail station and shopping complex. So my stay this time nothing much change, but one of the memorable thing was when I entered my room, I was welcomed with roses on the bed, some sweets and cookies and also non alcoholic drinks with roses on the vase. I felt so delightful and all the stress from the traffic jammed and works were washed away. Some more with the view of rain pouring down and neon showering the night..I felt so detoxicated. I was so suprised they paid attention to little things that definitely make someone's life happier instead. Yeah, Definitely one of the best hotel in the hearts of kuala lumpur to come back for.

Great hotel”

We really enjoyed staying at the Istana Hotel. Mostly because of their service, great location and a very nice-looking hotel in all ways. It´s in the middle of everything. It takes about 5-10 minutes by walking to get down to the shopping area Bukit Bintang, 15 minutes to Petronas Towers and the Tower. I looked at a bunch of hotels befors we left to Kuala Lumpur, but Istana gave us most and best for our money.

Hotel Istana has everything!”

been more than 10times, i stayed in hotel istana whenever i come visit to kuala lumpur. hotel istana is a 5star hotel with affordable price. i love the interior and exterior of the hotel. especially the lobby, the rooms are cosy and spacious. as for the restaurant, great breakfast as they have variety of food. staff are friendly and has a good customer service towards guest. my children loves hotel istana. definitely will come back whenever i'm in kuala lumpur.

Good hotel to spend your holiday in KL”

I stayed two nights at Istana Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was very interesting hotel. When we came, the bellboy help us to take care our luggage, then when we checked in, the receptionist was also very nice and taught us how to go to KLCC, Time Square, Kuala Lumpur tower, Sunway Lagoon, airport and a lot of interesting places. When the bell boy sent us to our room, he was also very nice, he showed us the whole room and explain to us all the hotel facilities. The hotel staffs are very friendly & helpful The hotel is located in the middle of KLCC, Time Square, Pavilion Shopping Mall, Kuala Lumpur Tower. We even didn’t have to take taxi to go to those places. From hotel to KLCC, it takes around 15 minutes walking distance, from hotel to Times Square it takes around 15 minutes walking distance, from hotel to Pavilion Shopping Mall, it takes around 5 - 10 minutes walking distance, from hotel to KL tower it takes around 15 minutes walking distance, from hotel to Times Square Shopping Mall it takes around 15 minutes walking distance.

Great hotel in great location”

We arrived early and were immediately offered a free upgrade as our room was not ready. This was more a suite of rooms than a "room" which I can only describe as palatial with every possible facility associated with "club" class. The hotel itself is modern, airy, well staffed and extremely well run. It is very well located for visiting the Petronas & Kuala Lumpur Towers, and if you are a shopaholic, the Pavillion shopping Mall is just 5 minutes walk away. I would like to have stayed longer in Kuala Lumpur but a tight schedule meant moving on the following day leaving a very pleasant memory of our stay at the Istana Hotel. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to future travellers

Excellent first time at Istana”

Almost all of my friends stay at Hotel Istana when travelling through KL. I never understood the fuss, as there's many hotels in Bukit Bintang location but now that I've stayed there for the first time I totally get it! I'm now a full blown Istana convert. Our 5 star experience started even before we'd booked our stay. We phoned ahead to make sure a baby cot would be available and were told it would be, so we booked through Agoda. I immediately received a welcome email from Istana. I've never received that from any other hotel when I book through Agoda. It was a professional, and nice touch. Check in and out was quick and efficient. The complimentary drink station is a nice touch. The room is HUGE!! The bath and shower is a bonus. There was a little bit of mould in the bathroom, but there's no window so it's to be expected. The fresh flowers were a nice touch. The bed and linen was of very high quality (better than I have at home) and the block out blinds awesome.

Comfortable & Good Location”

Location is so perfect, as i wanted to go Pavillion every times when i visit KL. From hotel to Pavillion shopping mall is really only like 5 mins walk. Cab, Train, coffee house, convenience shop (24hrs), all are located around there. All are just walking distance not even take you more than 15mins. Its only 5 to 10 mins walk. Worth to stay I can say ! Me and my boyfriend are satisfied for the one night stay in Hotel Istana. 2 things that i want to highlights is, i love the decoration of the washroom. Is so pretty and so spacious. At last, the king size bed is kinda look like queen size bed. And the height of the bed is kinda slightly lower. Sleeping on it, feel like i'm sleeping on the floor. Compared to other hotel that we stayed around bukit bintang area, hotel istana bed are not much comfortable. Other than bed, everything is perfect ! Overall my rating and my satisfaction is, Hotel Istana is in my "will consider come back again" list. :D

an excellent classical hotel”

hotel istana kuala lumpur city center is located near many shopping places. it is not far from the twin towers. the hotel provides excellent services. the room is very clean.customers can also swim and do gym in the hotel. the hotel looks excellent. it is very conveneit to take the train to most parts of the city.

Great Service and Location”

this was my third or fourth stay at th istana. that alone tells you the level of satisfaction with so many alternatives in kl city centre. many thanks to the customer service manager for going the extra mile to find me an alternative room. i was originally booked into a room with a connecting door which i really don't like. with no other rooms available during a busy weekend, he upgraded me to a suite room for my 4 night stay. very much appreciated and made for a very relaxed stay. breakfast buffet is really good and enjoy the outdoor pool to relax by. it really is a very pleasant oasis in this busy city. great location for bukit bintang shopping and places to eat. very friendly staff - front of house and housekeeping are particularly attentive. really can't criticise anything. great value for money.

Hotel Istana = Paradise”

my stay in hotel istana was one of the best in a long time. the hotel was strategically located at bukit bintang making every nice place in kl just a mere walking distance away. also, the hotel has great facilities. if you want to relax, there's a spa for you. if you want to cool down, they have a nice pool. and if you want to work out those extra gained pounds, there's the gym. more importantly, the hotel seems to have good restaurants in it. although i have not personally been there since i was obsessed with doing some mall hopping everyday i was in kl, it looks really high end yet comfortable. people with money to spare might want to try the food out. and finally, the hotel rooms? what can i say? they're the best. the beds are comfortable and the toilet is one of the grandest i've seen. the rooms are as big as 1 bedroom condo units elsewhere. if you intend to stay in your room the whole day, hotel istana will make you not regret not going out of the hotel.

Old hotel recently refurbished”

The Istana is now owned by Tradewinds Corp - the same company that bought the City Centre Hilton and knocked it down. So there was talk of this iconic KL landmark suffering the same fate. But instead they have refurbished it and it now offers a clean spacious room, excellent coffee shop/restaurant and all room amenities work well. Plenty of car parking and right in the middle of everything. Free wifi that has a good speed. Staff are helpful without being overbearing and you can easily get a taxi or Grabcar. The bar, which was closed for years is now open again but is rather quiet. But cangkat Bukit Bintang and Pavilion are both 5 minutes walk away so you have plenty of evening dining and recreational opportunities.

Great location for shopping”

I have been wanting to stay at the Istana for a long time. I was impressed with the lobby - its not the modern kind but you can feel that this hotel has been here for a long time. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. I loved that the location of this hotel is very strategic. It was only about 10 mins walk to the Bukit Bintang shopping area where you'll find the Bukit Bintang Plaza and Sungai Wang Plaza - for clothes and accessories. There are many food outlets along that road too. In addition to Bukit Bintang shopping centres, it is also 5mins walk to the new shopping centre - Pavillion, where you can spend the whole day of shopping and eating. Its got a mixture of high end stores like Coach, Burberry, Gucci to the mid range ones like Forever 21, Padini and Topshop.
