It look like a hostel during school time. The bed is very old. (Almost broken). The staff is buyers for local people no need to add extra bed even check in more than 3pax. But ours need to add another 300k rp.😓 the room very very old. Thinks 10 times before u check in

Booked for 2 Standard A rooms, turned out they gave us 1 Standard A and 1 Standard B. Asked the front desk, they gave us so many reasons to cover it. The bathroom was very bad.

Upon arrival, attended by a female staff who could hardly smile. Were forced to add on an extra bed. Room was small, could hardly perform our prayer (solat) inside. Hence we had to perform in the musolla instead. Saw a mice. As for breakfast, we could have a better meal at a local hawker stall. They served meatless fried rice, alongside some crackers. Half-boiled egg was limited to 1 per person. The best part is that we got hard-boiled ones instead. Wouldn’t recommend to family and friends.

Real value for money, excellent short stay”
Very nice small hotel. Room is big, bright and clean. Compared to other hotel around, this hotel's Superior room is bigger and has comfy facilities. Excellent value for money.... Good location in city center and very near to the Padang beach. Had nice morning stroll and swim at the beach, kids are very happy. Internet is free and most importantly fast and stable. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and service is . Overall stay is excellent Will definitely come back to stay at this hotel.

Great location but small room”
i already making full payment thru agoda. when i want to check in the reception ask for deposit. i refuse to pay since i already to make full payment. i want to tender my credit card they don't want to take. at last they keep my passport instead. the break fast is very simple ... they dont provide free vifi... that bad... most hotel in the world provide free vifi... event melati class... u r the oldest hotel in padang but u must keep with current req for free..

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
The price of the rooms in relation to what you get is simply unjustifiable and over the top. Note that the standard rooms do not have hot water - in the largest city on Sumatra. Rooms with hot water start at around which could buy you a much better stay at a much better hotel. Terrible ensuite bathroom for the standard rooms, which are comprised of basically just two beds surrounded by walls, a small cupboard, desk, mirror and tiny TV. The staff at reception are just there, some are barely communicable. On the whole Hangtuah is a major disappointment and I'm glad to be staying only one night. Made the terrible mistake of assuming there would be some link between asking price and quality delivered.

the hotel situated just in front of a shopping centre, and only about 100 meter from beach. eventually hotel design from 80 era, the management can maintain it in good condition, clean in room and most importan in the bath room.and overall the price is quit cheap especially for lonely traveler.

Convinience Location”
We stayed here on Saturday for one night only. The reception was nice and welcoming. The room was clean and neat but small. But our room was a bit dark since one of the light was broken. The washroom did not have hot water. We requested for an iron, but it was not available. We had to make do without it. The staff at the cafe downstairs was a bit dissappointed, she cleaned up our table even before we finished eating. Overall, the hotel was beautifully located in the middle of town. It is a strategic place to stay since there's a shopping mall opposite of the hotel, very convinience. It's not far from the beach also. Also, it took us around 40mins from the hotel to the airport which was very fast considering the traffic.

Old hotel but clean rooms”
hang tuah hotel is centrally located near the beach and also very near to shopping mall. very courteous and helpful staff, especially ridwan. however breakfast was a great letdown, then again with the kind of room rates, can't complain much. the hotel itself is so 70's with large sitting lounge outside of rooms. and due to its airy condition (large uncovered windows and wall), the hotel can be quite noisy as it is situated at the junction between jl a.yani and jl hang tuah.

5 days in Padang. Only stay at hotel at night time, very comfortable bed and the only thing feel disappointing is no hot water supply for shower, simple breakfast, but while request milk or creamer for coffee, said no.....

Good location decent sized rooms”
Stayed only one night - hotel is on airport transfer route so bus stops at door making for easy transit. Hotel opposite large shopping mall and only short walk to waterfront cafes. Room was good size with good facilities. Only problem was lingering cigarette smoke smell despite having requested a non-smoking room. Apparently they don't have any. Wifi available for rupiahs per day (about $3). Not a great brekfast.

A decent budget hotel. Walking distance from shops, restaurants and other interesting places. A lot to improve on the food but considering it's a budget hotel, I can't complain much about it. Suitable for those who prefer going out rather than staying in the room most of the time.
