The hotel was not clean, the room was outdated, but the price is so expensive. They dont even need aircon to operate the hotel since it locate in the mountain area, compare to other mountain area such as Brastagi in Medan, they sell the same price with very good hotel, room, and facilities.

Do not put this hotel in your website as the Manager has doubt and issues with you. They said u did not pay them for all the bookings done so they have ignore your request. Twice now as of today - I had booking under Agoda "firmed" but no room upon arrival. Very stress - especially one in China I arrived past mid-nite with no room...and this time no room and hard to find alternative as there's no other hotel around. U should take care of this issue. No comfortable at all for solo traveler.

Good Hotel For The Price Paid”

One of the best places to stay in Takengon. The room that I had is average with the furnishing that looks dated with a small patches of peeling-off paint on the wall but overall the room, the beds and bathroom are clean just no wash basin. That's about it and I have no problem with that. What I like most is that it has all the basic necesscities that a traveler needs. It is centrally located, you can view the whole surrounding area and the lake from the rooftop which is nice for photography. Excellent breakfast of white rice accompanied by different dishes every other day served buffet style and eaten in a nice and clean dining area that seems newly renovated. I had to restraint myself not to over indulge in eating breakfast. For westerners who prefer bread and butter, this might be a problem. If you want to eat out, there is a popular café, judging by the crowd, just next to it, check it out on google map. Another non-upmarket eating place named Block M is just 50 metres away up the street on the same side of the road as the hotel. Across the street there is a shop where you can reload the local prepaid phone card if you have one. The bus terminal is a walking distance away. I did that when I booked my ticket to Banda Aceh. Then again, Takengon is a walking distance, so, if you need cash, the ATMs are not that far away. I spoke in Indonesian language with the staff. I don’t know if they can speak English but the manager, Mr Riswandi, a soft spoken man, can speak English very well. All in all, including the price paid, it is a worthwhile stay for the two nights at Hotel Bunda, values for the money. I will not hesitate to stay again in Hotel Bunda if I have the opportunity to be in Takengon again.

Strange town and strange hotel”

this hotel looked good from the outside and the room itself was ok, with clean beds but there were some things that were strange. although there was a shower, there was no wash hand basin in the bathroom - instead just a tap with cold running water. none of the staff spoke any english at all, so it was a very stressful experience to try to arrange onward travel by writing place names and drawing pictures of buses! the breakfast is really poor. just one indonesian dish and then bread and jam... no juice, no butter, no cereal. and they put sugar in both the tea and coffee ahead of time - it was impossible to get it without - a shame in a coffee growing area!!there is also no restaurant as such, so you have to go further into town to eat.
