Hostels in Lahad Datu

"the pipe in the toilet was leaking and made the whole toilet wet, which includes the floor mat. Asked the hotel staff to fix it, and was told the person in charge who were holding the keys went out. Then after the technician came to fix, i asked to change the bloody wet floor mat and was denied. i insisted only they agree to get a new one from other rooms, not sure what kind of logic and nonsense did the staff have... "

"We arrived with the bus 3 am. We wrote to the manager before leaving, and they told us that the reception was open 24/7. We came to a very spooky street and found the place with a lock on the door. We tried to call the number on the gate but no one answered. We had to book a night on a nearby hotel to avoid sitting on the street while waiting. We came to the hostel the next day at noon. They were very polite and the room was fine. The WiFi is horrible, and we couldn’t use it. The staff was friendly though. Fine place, but make sure to arrive in day time."
