Beautiful location ”
Hill Myna was a really nice place with very friendly staff. Our cottage was clean and nice. The power comes on at 6pm and closes again at 12pm. The toilet didn't flush, so you have to use a bucket with water, but it didn't matter to us. It was a really nice and authentic place and I would definitely recommend it to others. It was also cheap!

Fabulous location and probably best of the budget accomodation in this area”
Sabang was incredible - a perfect paradise and this resort is ideally situation close to the Sheridan Beach Resort so you can always get a better coffee. The huts were very basic with a fan - but a/c did not work for us and no hot water. We used our data for the wifi as wifi was a struggle anyway. The massage hut at the front of this resort was fabulous and much cheaper than ElNido. The Sheridan Resort a couple of doors down is where you could enjoy a great meal and entertainment. There are many restaurants and bars close by the Hill Myna Beach Cottages. The bar at the resort was still being built when we were staying. Also service is very slow and there was no cold beer so we ended up going elsewhere to eat and drink. The resort was beach front you just walk across a small dirt track for the local motorbikes and you are at the beach. There were waves when we visited so the teenagers enjoyed some great body surfing. The beach was wonderful for swimming.

Best Spot on the Beach! ”
To be honest, before coming here, after reading the reviews, I was dreading it a bit. FEAR NOT for les than 20$ a night, this was a GREAT choice. The property is right on the beach, within a walking distance to the Mangrove Lake and the port, where you get permits for the subterranean caves. The room is spacious enough. We had 2 wide single beds. no AC, but you don't really need one, because there's a nice breeze from the ocean and a vent that will work at night. Electricity is from 6pm till 6am only. Use it to charge ur gadgets :) Running water in the sink and the shower, though only one temperature. Toilet is manually flushed. There's a table and a chair inside the room and on the porch. Mirror and hangers for clothes, that can be used on the laundry line on ur porch. Only one hook in the room. You get towels and toilet paper, and if you run out of it, you can ask for more. We had bed and breakfast. The restaurant has a nice variety of dishes and there's a bar. They take time to make the food, but what's the rush, we are on vacation :) We've booked a guide to the monkey trail and paid for the guide and the permit 300 php each. If you want to do the subterranean caves too, it's 600 php each. You can find these guides on the beach. Ask the locals and don't be afraid to haggle a bit. If you are not into a 7 km jungle walk, you can take the boat from the harbor or book one way boat and one way trail. **only two cons here There are mosquito nets on top of the bed. I have opened mine and had to attack it with perfume because it stank so bad. In the bathroom, there are no shelves to put stuff on. Seems like there were, once upon a time and it wasn't fixed.

Everything you would expect from a $30 stay & more!”
Our beach front cottage room wasn’t ready when we arrived, the guests the night before wanted an extension & didn’t check out yet. The said wait a couple hours & they will fix it, gave us a spare room in the meantime. No problem, gave us our first chance to explore Sabang. Later we got exactly what they said. Location, just steps from the beach. With hammocks set up already. Staff was very friendly & very good cooks! We loved their food. The bar at night was the best! It felt like the only happening place on the whole beach, aside from big brand Sheraton. Will come back to this place if ever in Sabang again& will stay longer than just 1 night.

Beach Front Stay”
Loved this place. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The cottage was clean and had everything I needed. Loved that it was directly across from the beach. Highly recommend! Need a tour, ask for George.

Okay for overnight stay, new room is clean ”
This place is okay for an overnight or one day stay if you are just going to underground river in Sabang Puerto Princesa and intending to El Nido right away. Pros: when you get the new rooms behind the nipa villas: clean, bathroom is clean, nice bed, room size is okay for a couple, the lady was nice, beach front, near the underground river boat station; water in the bathroomnis clean Cons: the resto/cafiteria and bar is so lame... lifeless & takes so long for food to be served; crew were fighting and gave us the wrong food after an hour of waiting; for the quality of service and food - too pricey; no AC in the rooms but manageable if it is not the summer peak weather in the Philippines

Great stay”
It was a really great place to be. The cottages are everything basic you need and super clean. You have our own patio and a great view right on the ocean. At night you an even listen to it. It's great. I wouldn't stay there again. You can relax and hang out and feel good. In the mornings your get a free breakfast. It's not much but tastes fine. But: you won't have any power or electricity until 6pm. Then they turn it back off at midnight. So make sure everyhing is charged or take a power bank with you. Also no wifi, so plan your Next destinations ahead of time. Dinner places are nearby and a tourist information in where you can book tours. Getting around is easy since they have a van shuttle service in the center of sabang. A great place to be.

Nice cottages”
Perfect for what we needed, large clean cottage, breakfast included. It was very quiet but i think thats because its a bit out of season. Sand lies on beach in front!

Overwhelmed ”
I was amazed with the kindness of the staff name geline she very accommodating and kind. It's worth your money. Very peaceful place. If you wish to go to underground cave please don't book in any tour agency they are very expensive you can do it by yourself and almost more than 50 percent of the price that tour agency will give you. Just any hotel or resort you are going to stay they have slots for the permit for the guest. The resort is nice and amazing in the center of Sabang.

Great Island Feel Cottage”
Great value for your buck if you're looking to experience the true Filipino lifestyle. You have no light in the bathroom or bedroom from 11:01pm to 5:59am. The staff turns on their generator at 6pm until 11pm. Bathroom worked well, shower was cold, but it was expected for the price you pay. As long as you keep the bathroom door closed you should have problems with bugs or lizards. The bed was comfy and had a mosquito net. I loved this place, so if you can go with no electric for a good portion of the day (which you should be enjoying the beach or going out on tours) and don't mind bugs or lizards, then this is the perfect place for you.

Just......just.”
We booked our stay in Sabong kind of last minute, so we took what we could get, but there are definitely better places to stay there. The beach cottages were literally a stone's throw away from the beach, but they are only a simple room with some beds and a tiny bathroom, and NO AMENITIES (not even toilet paper, which we did kind of expect). The windows were nothing more than screens, draped with bedsheets as curtains. Our cottage did have an AC unit installed, but it was broken. They did provide a fan though. They did have wifi, and it was pretty good when it worked, which it did most of the time. Honestly, I just felt kind of bad for the place. It is just a few steps behind pretty much every other place on the beach, and you can tell that the owners are having a hard time with keeping up. They appeared to be pretty down as they watch their neighbors succeeding and they just sit and hope for customers.

Be prepared for disappointments if you chose to stay in this place!!!”
My experience in Palawan should have been perfect, except for the last night I spent in Sabang... thanks to Hill Myna!!! aaarrrggghhh!!! 1. be it known that you will only have access to electricity from 6-11pm. but in my experience, they turned off the generator around 10pm. and to top it off, they only have one socket...so that means you have to decide whether to use their rusty electric fan or charge your mobile phone. i chose the later and endured the whole night without proper ventilation. 2. because they turned off the generator at around 10pm, darkness has been my companion for the rest of the night. they didn't even provided for any lamp of flashlight. i'm not the type of person who is easily get afraid of darkness, but in this scenario, i'm all alone in a cottage and that every now and then i would hear scratching sounds and other some sort of noises outside. 3. one of the factor why i chose Hill Myna was because breakfast is included in the deal... i specifically mentioned in my instruction to serve my breakfast as early as 6AM. wow! what a customer service they had in that establishment...... i arose at 5:30am and fixed my things in time for my 6am breakfast... but unfortunately, there was no one preparing for my food.... their attendants were nowhere to be found! 4. i checked myself out at around 7:20am even without having breakfast, meaning, i just left the key on the doorknob because there's no one there to assist me.....

Great location, but must be prepared”
The huts were good and they were exactly what we expected. We read all the reviews before booking so we were pretty prepared for what we were going to get. The location is great and it is steps from the beach. The beds are a standard size and the room was very clean. When I arrived I told the staff I had a reservation, but I don't think they knew because they put us in the first room they knew was available. As a result we didn't get a fan in our room as listed, but it was not a big deal since there was no electricity after 11pm anyways which was when it was the warmest. The bathroom has what you need but be prepared for bare essentials. The toilets don't flush but there is a bucket of water to wash/drain things through. We never ate in the restaurant, so I cannot comment on the food. Overall our stay was pleasant. For the price I may find another place that is cheaper if we get the same things. As a side note if staying here I recommend bringing: -towel -toilet paper -plastic trash bag (or I'm sure you can ask the staff for a garbage bin) -flashlight -bottled water

Cheap and cheerful!”
Right on the beach, very rustic with bathroom door not closing, no flushing toilet, electricity only 6pm to 12 and WiFi only when the 3g router is on! However what do you really need? You should only be sleeping there ;) Right on the beach so the sea breeze helps you sleep really nicely. Everyone is friendly. Two doors down there's the Sherindon which is 15 times as expensive but on an island in the Philippines do you need their luxury? I'd say no.

Excellent if you know what you are signing in for”
It's a budget hostel, so dont't expect anything fancy. No hot water, and philipino toilet with bucet. Power is availiable between 6 P.M. and midnight. But location is excellent, rooms are clean, and food is great and at a good price.
