Great hotel, will use again”
When my minibus from the airport dropped me off in the middle of the Old Quarter of Hanoi it was my first night in Southeast Asia and I had no idea what to expect or what to do next. The staff at the Hanoi Evergreen hotel were extremely helpful on my first night and during my entire stay. I stayed in a single room, which was the right size and had a clean bathroom and air-conditioning. I later booked a trip to Sa Pa with the hotel as the prices were competitive with the booking office down the street. I think the hotel staff is first class, genuinely helpful instead of constantly upselling like a lot of other establishments. I had a great time in Hanoi, and a lot of it is thanks to the Evergreen Hotel.

Second Great Stay at Evergreen”
My second time at Evergreen, and just as good as the first! The staff are so welcoming, speak great English, and do not hassle you to book tours. But rest assured, any question you have will receive a thoughtful, knowledgeable answer. Chatting with other guests, they only had good things to say about the tours they had booked via Evergreen to Halong Bay etc. Thanks to Lisa, Hien (and her smile), and all the team, for making my stay an enjoyable one. I stayed in one of the more expensive rooms. Having stayed in other Hanoi hotels I think the price point is good value. Rooms are not super-luxury, but for a great price you get two very comfortable beds with pristine linen, aircon that works very well, and a full selection of tv channels including Premier League football. Wifi is superfast and always worked. Location wise - well placed in the Old Quarter. The neighbourhood is a little noisy during the day, but this is offset by being (unusually for Hanoi!) very quiet at night as there is little traffic. Recommended.

Great value for money”
My boyfriend and I booked a room at this hotel for our first night in Hanoi as our flight didn't get in until after midnight, but ended up extending our stay for a further 5 nights (four of which were spend in the standard room we'd originally booked and one in the dorm as the private room was unavailable). Pros: The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They also didn't try to sell tours/extras unless we enquired which was refreshing. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They are serviced daily and towels/toilet paper/toiletries are replaced as often as needed. The dorm beds have a curtain which can be pulled around the bed for complete privacy, as well as an individual lamp, fan and charging station and towel. Hot water was always available. Location is great for exploring the Old Quarter and Ba Dinh district. Cons: The standard double room is quite small, especially the bathroom - my boyfriend, who is over 6ft tall, had to sit sideways to use the toilet as there wasn't enough space in front for him to sit normally! The room we were in had a window, but it faced a wall which meant no natural light got in - this is great if you want a lie-in, but became quite disorientating after a couple of days. Our room faced the back of the building. Previous reviewers have suggested that the back-facing rooms are quieter, but our experience was the opposite - the sound of children playing downstairs and other guests coming and going meant it was pretty noisy from about 6am onwards. Conversely, the dorm room, which was front-facing, was much quieter - although maybe that's because after a year of living in Saigon the sound of traffic no longer bothers us! There is no lobby/communal area, so I imagine that a single traveller hoping to meet others would find it a bit disappointing. We didn't eat here so I can't comment on that. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again if we ever returned to Hanoi.

Excellent hotel. The staff and location are outstanding.”
I'm a regular traveller to HaNoi. This hotel is perfect for me. Although I could stay somewhere more expensive, I've never found anywhere as friendly and helpful as the Evergreen. From the moment of stepping off the plane and getting picked up, to organising tours of SaPa or Ninh Binh, to finding a storage space for my bicycle, it is all made easy by the excellent English-speaking staff. Tonight, the night manager was helping me to learn some Vietnamese language and giving me a complementary cup of raspberry tea. Of course, I must point out that the hotel is in the budget price range, so it's not luxurious. Just clean and tidy and comfortable (the beds are better than much more expensive places). The only problem.....it's getting harder to book a room because they are full a long way in advance.

Excellent location and very helpful owner”
We stayed one night and room was of basic standard but good enough. Located in the heart of the Old Quarter, you couldn't ask for a better spot. Lisa, the owner was extremely helpful in providing us with the best places to eat, booking tours and general information. I hear some hotels can be pushy with booking tours, but Lisa was simply great. No issues with allowing us to leave bags for trips out of Hanoi and allowing us to freshen up when we returned. Highly recommended and would stay here again.

Great place!”
The staff at Evergreen are friendly and very helpful. Our room had a water issue, and the Manager immediately upgraded our room to another for the bathroom to be fixed. Great location near the bustling city, but quiet enough for us to get a good night's rest. We recommend this hotel for those in Hanoi!

Fantastic little place. ”
Lovely little place. Staff so so helpful from the moment we entered nothing was too much hassle! breakfast was perfect. Booked us a halong bay day tour finishing on Cat ba. Thoroughly recommended. Slap bang in the middle of the old quarter so simply outstanding 1st impressions of the sheer craziness that are Hanoi roads.... For a little over £8 for a private room for 2. Go there. Stay there. Enjoy.

Great location and nice staff”
Staff are very nice and location is great right in the old quarter. It is therefore noisy outside so bring ear plugs. Wifi is good. The tour to ha long bay (one day) was great and a good price. I did a lot of research. The guide Duc was so nice. The city view room was nice but the standard room was a bit tired. The two rooms we stayed in need to be repainted for sure. Rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels are provided. I had booked this on Agoda and was under the impression I had to pay when I got there (as it said that on my app) but the payment was taken before I arrived. Not sure if this was a hotel or Agoda issue. Staff speak great English and there is a tv with English movie channels. They do food but we didn't eat there.

Great hotel but had a clash”
Location and price of room was great. Stayed at backside of Hotel which was quiet, but downside was small room and toilet, but still good :) Unfortunately booked specific hotel as had parking available on site, and 24hour reception with CCTV. Upon arriving we were informed no overnight parking, and had a big hassle finding an overnight car park as the one suggested by the Hotel basically got angry for asking him the price and eff-ed us off, which left us without an option. The manager rudely said it was not her problem, which was very unprofessional (Yes, we know this is Asia but we had no option were to park the bike!) and finally told us to keep the bike in the hotel for the night, and look for a carpark the following day. Agoda immediately updated the correct info, and staff was very friendly (including manager) the next two days :) Would recommend a water refill (even at a small fee). Hanoi being very hot, you consume alot of water, and is a pain having to buy all that plastic bottles :(

Not bad for cheap”
I booked this for my last night in Hanoi. The lady owner was really lovely! Very helpful with a nice welcome cup of tea. The room was clean enough but could have been cleaner. Smelled alittle bit and bathroom alittle tight. But I cant complain for the cheap price. 190000 dong. She got me a taxi to airport for 250000 dong which is a good deal. Good budget hotel and they have dorms for around 70000 if you walk up and ask.

Pleasantly surprised!”
Our stay here was awesome! We were surprised how nice the hotel was for the cheap price. Its on a busy street but we are easy sleepers so it didnt bother us. Hot water (thank goodness) and a comfy atmosphere. The location is a little confusing at first but you get your bearings quickly. Dont use the 17dollar airport shuttle to the airport from the hotel, theres a travel agent 2 blocks down (on the left if youre walking out the door of the hotel) that will hook you up for 10 dollars. Taxi scams are a huge problem in Hanoi, beware.

Great service! Great people!”
I love this hotel. All of the staff gave 110% to make sure I was happy. They were always quick with a food recommendation, and even cooked a beautiful lunch for me on my birthday. They are a wonderful group of people. I enjoyed my stay so much that I made sure I stayed there again when I returned to Hanoi again. It's at a great location in the Old Quarter, and the rooms are very clean.

Safe & Reliable Accommodation - Fantastic Service!”
Lisa (owner) and her team are fantastic in making sure my stay was pleasant, comfortable and safe. They are honest and reliable operators who went out of their way to look after me and accommodation my requests. Rooms are clean and comfortable, WIFI internet is fast, and airport shuttle (both to and from) was on time. Great central location in downtown Hanoi, close to nightlife and shopping. I will use this same hotel when I return to Hanoi next - highly recommended.

Basic hotel, good value. ”
This is a basic, no frills hotel that was a good value for the inexpensive price. The mattress was surprisingly comfortable, the best we've had at a budget hotel. Good location in the old quarter with tons of options for food and markets close by.

Very satisfied”
We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is small but very efficiently run. The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful with a high level of English. The level of service and welcome they give you is highly commendable. The rooms are small but well maintained, the beds comfortable and wifi fine if not streaming video. We didn't eat at the hotel but there are plenty of restaurants within a short walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel if you are on a budget, and we will certainly stay again next time we visit Hanoi.

Perfect, highly recommended.”
When we arrived we were welcomed by the manager, Lisa, and she was really nice since the first moment. We had booked a standard room and she upgraded us for a superior, which was a really nice room. The whole staff was always helpful and friendly, it was really cold so they were always giving us hot tea every time we stopped at the reception. Because we booked a tour with them, we got breakfast on our second day (we had booked without), but in the first, when I came down to ask something she gave me a tray with hot tea and bananas, she was always doing her best to take care of us. The day we were on the tour we needed help to get documents back from the embassy and she sent someone straight away for a really fair price. We highly recommend it, they made our stay in Hanoi the best it could have been.

Located right in the heart of Hanoi Old Quarter, with well-maintained facilities and supportive staffs. However, no restaurant and elevator.

Very helpful staff, nice location”
We booked two tours from the hotel (Halong Bay 3D/2N and Sapa 2D/3N). The staff was very helpful and didn't push us at all to book with them. Both trips were great and really well organized. Thanks a lot evergreen !! About the hotel itself, the rooms are really clean and the location is perfect.

Attentive staffs. Fast internet. Nice room.”
I like it very much. Warm greeting once I stepped in. Friendly staffs and spoke good English. Cheap room dont have balcony and large windows. We upgraded to a beautiful room at USD5 only. We went back late but the staff opened the door for us. They booked taxi for us at USD15. You can get a better price around the town but yet still we were happy to book from them. A potential hotel with good service. I will be back there if we go back to Hanoi. No lift but no problems at all. Happy and satisfied!
