Baan Chao Mai Beach House on Haad Yao Beach is perfect for people who like to get away from the crowds, the noise, the litter and the hassles and enjoy a relaxing stay at the beach. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. We arranged for them to provide airport transfers between Trang airport and the hotel and the driver made several stops at our request so we could purchase some things, including wine. If you enjoy wine with a meal, bring your own. The rooms include buffet breakfast and the cook will try to fill special requests. They have WiFi, but the signal strength is very poor. I don't live on the internet, but depend on it for contact with family and friends and business. This is my only complaint about this great place and it was only a small inconvenience. There is a small Mom & Pop store next door that provides basic items, snacks and drinks. There are two small restaurants also next door, which provided for all of our meals other than breakfast. The restaurant at Haad Yao Bungalow was our favorite and the food is delicious, seafood every day. The other restaurant is also good, though we ate there only a couple times. Haad Yao, which literally means Long Beach lives up to its name. It is about three or four miles long, with two sets of bungalows on the South end and a national park on the North end and nothing but empty beach in between. It's all government land and no one can build on it. Hopefully, it will stay that way. If quiet and relaxation is your thing, I highly recommend Haad Yao Beach and Baan Chao Mai Beach House.
