Nice hotel with great service”

The hotel is new having recently opened and has a huge and lovely family room (2 bedrooms + a living room). The view of the bay from the rooms are fantastic. I am very impressed with Ms Pham Thi Le Thuy, the Asst. Marketing Manager of the hotel who has patiently answered my queries over emails and helped to arrange the half-day Halong Bay tour and transfer (Noi Bai Airport to Halong DC hotel, and Halong DC hotel to my hotel in Hanoi). She even came down from her office to greet us at the reception when we reached and again sent us off when we were leaving. The only downside is some of the staff at the Reception are not so well-versed in English and you may face some challenges communicating with them. The hotel location may not be favourable to some travellers as it is located in the opposite side of the tourist area, and in the local area (where we actually preferred it to be as we can have a better insight of the locals' way of life).

hotel nice. But staff treats clients in a bad way”

Do not take any trip through this hotel you are brought forth. I paid the price hike more than double, the ship is broken, there was no place to sit the guy they associated it with us looking for the cheapest ship, in order that he has more money himself, the price they took from us was very very high!! including this trip costs some money . We Suffered three people on the boat, it was also a family from Englandthart suffered like us End after a fight with staff returned a small portion of the money. , dont take any trip from them!! They cheated us and they will still do it if someone is not gonna stop them! You can. Do this tour in a easy way, take bus no11 to port and then buy any ticket from the ticket office in the port and you can choose which boat you want! I have lots of thing to say on this crew in this hotel but i will let this to your mind to think after all this what are they

Consider about the location before your booking.”

You should choose a hotel near Bai Chay if you'd like to have some entertainment and enjoy Halong at night. Location is OK, but you need to travel across the bridge. Hon Gai doesn't have many interesting activities while Bai Chay's a little busier. Renting a motorbike in Hon Gai was also much more expensive, 200K vnd/day for a scooter but it wasn't worth its price. The wifi connection was unstable most of the time. Breakfast buffet was served with the same dishes,bread,rice,noodles. Bug bites in the dining room. The room in Halong DC hotel was as nice as the pictures on Agoda. From the balcony, we could the Poem mountain and also the ocean. While staying in Halong DC, we saw some different receptionists but only one of them was really hospitable and helpful. She was willing to help and able to speak English. The other receptionist was even bad with directions to show us a local spa. For my birthday, I was given a birthday cake from the hotel. That was so considerate. Thanks so much!

Great hotel to stay in Halong Bay ”

We stayed one night at the Halong Bay DC hotel in a family suite. It was almost like a 2 bedroom apartment- more than adequate for our family of 4. The views of Halong Bay from our 15th floor room were breathtaking. It’s also very close to Poem mountain which we climbed for a superb view of the entire bay and the city. The bar on the rooftop is also a great place to unwind. The pool was small but we didn’t really have time to use it.

Excellent for tourist ”

Excellent location for us because we want to eat local Vietnameses food. The Vitcom food center also has excellent Korean food with sashimi. Good view of the island. Staff Jenny speak very good English. We really enjoyed our easy here. Next time we hope to bring our family. For Halong Bay tour, it is about a fifteen minutes to the boarding port. Most hotel near the Halong Bay do not have much activities. This is the best of both world...go yo Halong Bay and enjoy the local Vietnam food and culture.

Near new hotel,well located”

Ha Long DC hotel is well run,staff are polite & helpfull,speak good English. Hotel is well located,a short walk to shopping & the stunning shoreline of Ha Long Bay. Breakfast is excellent with many choices presented well.

Good facilities but limited breakfast buffet and far location”

Staff is friendly but they cannot help us in booking a tour to visit Halong Bay, I still don't know why. Rooms are clean with comfortable bed and other equipments. Rooms in a high floor have a little view to the Hon Gai Port and Ha Long Bay. The food of breakfast is quite limited and not so fresh. The location is on the other side of the bridge and so far from the port to visit Tuan Chau.

friendly & helpful staff”

The hotel is located in Hon Gai ward where we find it hard to find a restaurant due to TET. The safe in my room was broken so the staff had to replace it with another one. I guess the carpet has never been cleaned because there are so many stains on it. However, the staff at the reception desk and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. What surprised me was that the doorman could speak Cantonese fluently since he has worked in Hong Kong for 8 years. It seemed that the staff at the restaurant couldn't understand English well. They had to take a corresponding Vietnamese menu when I tried to order some food in English. Anyway, the ocean view was amazing. But I don't think it's 100% of the money I paid.

Great views over Ha Long”

Had a very comfortable stay at Ha Long DC, the staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious. One negative was that the facility’s in the gym were very lacking as everything was broken.

Good hotel for relax”

HA Long DC Hotel does not locate in tourist area, therefore the neighborhood is very quiet. It is good for those would like to have a nice view of Ha Long Bay with a quiet atmosphere. Be noted that there is seemly no choice for food because it's not really a place for touristd.

Friendly staff ensures comfort”

Front desk staff at DC helped us with everything from restaurant recommendations to laundry service. They are always ready to help. The hotel met all our needs...good food, comfortable bed, clean room, good location.

Great stay”

Good location. It was a walking distance to bai tho mountain which unfortunately is officially closed by the time i intend to hike. Staffs were pretty helpful especially with our ha long bay tour and our transportation back to hanoi. Buffet breakfast is just ok because there's not much choices..but other foods i ordered was tasty and i love it. Room is pretty wide and have a partial view of the bay. Overall it was a great stay and we enjoyed our time there.

Great stay”

Service was excellent. Room was spacious and clean..carpeted,with bathtub and halong bay view, Staffs were pretty helpful with booking our ha long tour,got discounted and also our transportation back to hanoi. Location is good. Close to bai tho mountain. Breakfast is just ok, not much choices but i love the food i ordered from their restaurant. It was excellent. I'd definitely book this hotel again.

Great Hotel Great staff”

This hotel was a little away from the man attractions in Ha Long but its worth being away from that a little. The staff was fantastic, the room was very nice and the dining was fantastic.

A really nice hotel for the price,”

Very comfortable hotel with stunning views across Ha Long Bay, although this Hotel is not in the main City area it is more in the local Vietnamese area. I would like to have given a better score for the food but instant noodles in your evening meal in a 4* hotel is a big no no, the hotel are in the process of sorting this kind of problem with a new executive chef who started the day we arrived. The views from the top floor bar over Ha Long Bay are wonderful.

Views of the bay”

The hotel looks rather nondescript from the outside. My room was adequate . Bed was comfortable, good selection of channels on TV. The view though from my room on the 15th floor was amazing. Could see part of the bay. And there's a school nearby, to fill the mind with childhood nostalgia. The hotel staff were really polite and always ready to answer questions. The only issue are the nearby amenities. There's nothing much around the hotel, a few eating places which are rather difficult to locate. Grab is the way to go there. The hotel is of walking distance to the museum which is worth a visit if you have a coupe of hours to kill. Overall, a good and safe choice for accommodation. :)

Beautiful new hotel with great service”

Would highly recommend this hotel it is new and a 20 min taxi from ha long bay. Quiet and five star.

Great room & view”

I was really happy with this clean, reasonably priced room. So happy we stayed twice. Nice view of the water and a mountain, a couple blocks in front of the hotel. location wise it was about a 5 -10 min walk to a variety of food options, very close to a big mountain you can hike, and the view is incredible. Staff was friendly, breakfast was great but ended early (9 am.) Pool did not look okay to swim in. Wifi wasnt terrible, warm shower.

Stayed here during a visit to Ha Long bay. Nice hotel, staff are great. Rooms are good (not great). Clean, big and comfortable. Would recommend

Handy for the port, great views”

We stayed here as it is a short taxi ride to the port for our cruise, only cost 20k dong/€1 one-way. It has great views of HaLong Bay on the upper floors, also a bar with reasonable prices. Staff were polite and friendly. Our room smelled of smoke so they changed it for a bigger room. The gym had a few machines but they were pretty old. We did not try the pool. Breakfast buffet has a good selection of Asian and European options. Staff have some English but didn’t have many suggestions for dining or activities. Rooms are fine, decent size. Best thing is the views.
