Conveniently located for my visit”
I stayed here for three days so that I could work at the power plant which is directly opposite. The hotel was clean and tidy and room was very comfortable by local standards. I requested a refrigerator / mini bar as my room did not have one. I was told that only the suites had mini bars - The hotel manager upgraded me to a suite at no extra charge, first class service ! The restaurant catered for local tastes with very little western food. This was OK with me but may be a problem for some. The pool area is undergoing very extensive modifications and building work so it is currently closed. I think it is due to re-open in October and should be spectacular by local standards. There is a Karaoke club in the hotel and a bar situated on the roof, both accessible from the service elevator should you wish to use them. At the end work we stayed an extra day and hired the services of a local driver for the day (400,000 IR or about $30). He took us to a good beach with snorkelling and then on a tour of the Tsunami sites followed by a trip to a local restaurant. A superb day that I will remember for a long time - especially the part when a komodo dragon jumped out in front of the car ! If I'm ever in Banda Aceh again I would happily stay at the Grand Nanggaroe hotel

the grand naggroe hotel is a good hotel. it is clean and the service is top. ifeel very welcomed there and the stay was comfotable. however, just 1 area where things could be improved. the wifi in rooms are not so strong. the signal is weak. i had to sit atthe cafe or lobby for a better connection. overall, its a good hotel

Services are good and above expectations”
They picked us from the airport and along the way the driver helped us with few information. Receptionist were also helpful and suggested us places to go such as salon and spa, what transport to take and all others. Hotel is quite out of town so privacy is kept well. the price also reasonable. i would reccomend this to friends.

I dont usually complain about any hotel. in fact most of the time i think they are all pretty decent and comfortable.. Grand Nanggroe Hotel was great too.. from check in to the rooms, no complains. until i observe 2 things. 1: my room 4015 has a faulty door... the door itself, seems to be too short for its frame... therefore exposing the locking mechanics for the door lock. To open the door, simply inserting any card towards the locking mechanics through the door frame.. the mechanics of the lock will be pushed in and the door be open.. no key card needed. this is quite a serious security breach. having a long trip, we're tired to change a room again, this cause us to actually bring out every valuable we have when we leave the room. 2nd point, the bed sheets and blanket are really dirty.. initially i thought it's just dull in color. that judgement proves to be a bad mistake when i was badly awaken by itch on my legs and feet, areas covered by the blanket. from 2 am to 4 am, i couldn't sleep. i didnt want to make a complain to the counter as well.. this will cause people to start roaming in, lots of waiting and most likely will disturb my friend's sleep. as much as i made my complain the next morning, i hope they can do better.

Good service but lacking key facilities.”
The stay was enjoyable for us as the location of the hotel is close to the airport and city. The staff were polite, helpful and welcoming. The room is decent but could be better maintained. There was no freezer (a key requirement for good hotels, and tempered our enjoyment of the facility to some extent). The rates could have been more competitive given the rise of new hotels around the city and the non-peak time of travel.

Just ok ”
The hotel is more dated than it appears in photos. Very dim lights, so there were quite a lot of mosquitoes. Our shower was not working well, the water spray was more like a mist. During the time of our visit, not only was wi fi erratic, phone lines were not working too. Overpriced for what we experienced.

great hotel but a little bit outside of the town”
we just stay here for the night, its quite good, but a bit far from the downtown, but the upside is closer to the airport, just 15 minutes away. they also give u free shuttle between pick up from the airport or from the hotel to the airport (choose one).

Acceptable”
I chose this hotel as I wanted to use the swimming pool everyday during my stay there. I was not allowed to use the pool as the pool area was used for a wedding reception. I wish I was told earlier on so that I could cancel my booking. I tried to check out after my first day and I asked for reimbursement. The hotel management agreed to reimburse but at the promotional rate. When the staff later told me that they could only pay the following day as Sunday is a public holiday, I changed my mind about checking out. I will never stay at that hotel or recommend anyone staying there. The hotel is far from the city centre. The room is big and clean but it is old. Water is leaking from the sink in the bathroom. It is a very disappointing stay at the hotel.

An average experience. Took a while for check-in process. Unfortunate to get a room with poor air-cond performance & no kettle. However, we got a replacement room. Good local food for breakfast.
