Great Hotel and Facilities but meals were dissapointing”
This hotel offers the best views of the Drakensberg mountains and has many activity options for the holiday maker - tennis, put-put, golf, bowls, pool and lots of options for walks. The hotel itself is well maintained and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The only downfall was the food. I would not recommend the Bergview restaurant - they use packet sauces (as per the chef) and the quality of their meat is substandard. A complaint regarding the dinner was met with a simple "I'm sorry but that is what I am given" from the chef.Their were long queues for eggs at breakfast. My suggestion is for the traveler to bring their own snacks and stock up the bar fridge and to utilize the eateries outside the Gooderson Drakensberg Hotel.

Magnificent scenery”
This was my first visit since the 1980s and it is still a pleasure to be at the Drakensberg Gardens. The facilities are fine and the dining areas vary according to your style and mood as well as a good choice of inexpensive bars. There is plenty to do during the evening. Daytime invites walking amongst the magnificent scenery with easy, or more challenging walks, and of course golf and all the other activities offered.

What a wonderful stay ”
Gooderson Drakensberg resort is totally awesome. The food, facilities there's so much to do both with old n young kids. It's a place to be. We had loads of fun. The staff is friendly. We enjoyed our stay to the max. Trying to plan going back there again, definitely!!

Excellent Location ”
We love to visit the resort and really enjoy the facilities. The food is good, the staff friendly and accommodating, we want to just highlight “Promise” at hotel reception for her excellence in handling our booking and questions and for assistance with relocating our rooms . Our booking agent made a booboo and on arrival we weren’t happy but “Promise” sorted us out professionally. The hotel grounds are very well kept , The food in the buffet is good. The cleanliness is also good, it would help if sanitizers were placed in each room though. It would also be comforting if sanitizer foggers were used prior to check in for peace of mind . The beds are a bit hard , but ok . Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this resort for couples/ families/ groups, etc

lovely.lots of things to do. can't get bored.tennis horse riding swimming golf bmx bikes gym jacuzi spa put put.stayed in hotel. not much choices for vegetarians or seafood .and 2 sleeper hotel units for couples need to be more luxurius. very standard. tv too old. happy bubbly faces needed at reception. not the headmasters type thats there! !!

An Amazing Weekend”
A very enjoyable experience. Will be going back. The friendly staff and great view of the mountains added to a great stay. The food was excellent and they catered for our every request. Plenty of activities and the spa treatment and gym facilities are well equipped. Activities for the kids are also something that we where happy about , and we are sure to return with the kids soon

A small paradise on wonderful surroundings”
A breathtaking oasis of comfort in a breathtaking scenery. Nice, clean, comfortable and well equipped rooms. I appreciated · the warm duvet and · the heater provided, · electricity sockets for European, British and South African plugs, · friendly and helpful staff, · the excellent (Bergview) restaurant (delicious food, altough a bit on the pricey side and the helpings on the smallish side) I would have been happier · if the shower was separate from the bath tub · if the small shampoo bottle provided was not half empty. · if the fish cakes at the breakfast buffet would be firmer and taste a bit like fish Nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. I will definitely recommend the hotel to others. I would love to stay there again one day.

Vacation at Drakensberg Gardens”
Our stay was very relaxing. Kids had a wonderful time riding bikes, playing with rabbits and swimming in the pools. There is so much to do at this resort from hiking, mountain bike riding, swimming and there is no need to get into your car until you leave. Excellent family holiday which was great value for money

5 star hotel at the mountain side”
The staff were friendly and professional. On the website it stated that wifi was free, at the hotel this was declared false info and was asked to pay R20 per hour! When i paid online, the booking fee incl hotel taxes and service charge but at upon checkout at the hotel was told its excluded. I refused to pay!

This place wasnt like how it was shown in the photos. The drive to the Underberg is absolutely torturing as its so secluded and rural. There are no halaal entities in this place. The only halaal place in the whole of Underberg is a small kfc thats at a Shell Garage , but this is like an hour away from Gooderson resort. The staff are not friendly. Upon booking or phoning to know more about the place before checking in, they dont tell you that you need to be aware of babboons on their premises. The rooms and bathrooms are not up to standard. I felt sick when i went to this place, I will definately not recommend it to anyone else

Rooms could do with a little bar fridge and some sort of window covering (lace curtain / blind) as if you are settled in the room it's necessary to keep the curtains closed so as not to be seen by all the other guests passing by. Was a little disappointing to be offered Wi-Fi and given the login details when enquiring BUT having no Wi-Fi access and being told when we reported this on our departure that they were actually experiencing a problem, had no Wi-Fi and had reported the problem! Why give us the login details? Otherwise, a fantastic place to be with so many fun activities to choose from for all ages!
