Gia Huy Hotel”

It's location is the best. Only 150 m to Night market and 200 m to the beach. Night market is popular with many kinds of local food and some kinds of souvenirs. The sea products like dried shrimps, squils, fishes are available with acceptable prices. The beach is not very nice but okay. Facilities at hotel are very poor (no warm water for shower, no signal TV, small queen sized bed, moldy wall). Staffs are not very friendly (no saying hello and goodbye).

Run Down”

I stayed here for 2nights. My room wasn’t properly cleaned the air conditioning switch was not even fixed to the wall exposing the electrical wires. The room had a musty smell to it and was supposed to be a no smoking room but clearly the previous guest had smoked in there. All in all I would not stay here again the hotel needs to be refurbished and is not what the images show on the Agoda site, I think Agoda should not represent this hotel.

A brand new hotel with great location & staffs”

1:the hotel was new open at end of Dec,2013;2:very close to the night market & John's Tour office;3:all the staffs are kindhearted.

I will highly recommend to all of my friends to book this hotel in the future. I enjoyed all the 5 nights in the Lighthouse hotel. Although they are just new opened, but all the guys and girls whether work at the reception or housekeeping are professional and kindhearted with smile on the face.I will remember those staffs'names: William & Ken & Michael & Ashley & Carol and etc.If you like to taste the delicious seafood which is the most famous on the Phu Quoc Island, this hotel must be you first choice. It will only cost you 1 minute to walk to the Night Market.By the way, also only need 1 minute to get the John's Tour office where they offer various tours for us.At last, how could we miss such a fashion designed hotel with the great ocean view & comfortable rooms & location & well connected WiFi.I have no doubt that I will check in at Lighthouse Phu Quoc Hotel next time.

One of the best places on Vietnams worst Island”

Phu Quoc is not a holiday destination I would visit again! I have never seen so much garbage everywhere in Vietnam. The local population throws what it does not need just away, on the streets, in the Sea, on the Beaches. Every village I have seen on Phu Quoc is just a Garbage Dump. Doung Dong the worst. Half the Island is a gigantic Building Place, easy 20 or more BIG Hotels going up at the same time. Weather was bad when we where there (October). Nothing to see really, only the main roads with Tarmac, small roads a quagmire of soft clay in rain and potholes in Dry. Prices 50 % above much nicer Places in Vietnam. Do NOT go there if you want to have a good Holiday. The Hotel is what it is, a simple 3 star hotel. Nicely laid out, with good Sea view from most rooms. No Balconies. We had no internet on Floor 5 (repeater fail, staff told us, it would be repaired the next day, but it was not), so we got a relocation to floor 4. Both floors offer Sea view which is rare on Phu Quoc. Breakfast was okish for 2 days, from Day 3 we preffered nice Breakfast arround the Corner. The Big Plus of this Hotel is its location, ample food and the little night Market and Shops all arround. As the other places of interest are to far to work, you need a scooter. The night market is small and VERY noisy due to construction site adjacent and stalls relying on mobile noisy petrol powered energy generators.

Lighthouse Phu quoc Hotel”

Breakfast, room, staff

My stay was ok. The thing is that the hotel is in the centre close to night market, which is very expensive. The beach around is not good, and if you cannot rent a motorbike because you don't have your international driving license, you can't do anything. If you want to take the risk but get caught, it's 30000000 dong fine. So, I didn't take the risk and felt my stay very long. I decided to move to Vung Bau, it's obviously quieter and nothing to do there but the beach is really worth it for those who want to relax for a few days. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend to stay at Duong Dong. The hotel is nice but the area is not worth it at all. Phu Quoc is a beautiful island, just move anywhere else...

My comfy long stay”

Comfort bed, clean and friendly staffs

As the domestic hotel in Phu Quoc island, it is far more clean and comfortable compare those local hotel with the same standard. I am here to work in a project for almost 25 days, they are not pricey at all for such a long stay and their beds are as comfortable as those 4 to 5 starts hotels in Vietnam. The whole hotel been covered by high speed wifi, I wouldn't have any problem to connect to my office or my social media website. It is walking distance to some local food stalls and neighboring with 2 local cafes which serve food as well. Even it don't have a restaurant or cafe in the hotel, I have no problem with my breakfast, lunch or dinner either. Lighthouse hotel is simply the best among it range.

Best midrange hotel in Phu Quoc”

New, clean and convenient

Phu Quoc is an expensive island when it comes to hotel. This hotel is new and clean, offer one of the best experience for midrange price. Less than 3 minutes to the night market and 5 minutes to the beach. Local restaurants are nearby too: a terrific location. The staff is attentive but the room is not sound proof. Room is up to standard and clean. Even I'm very strict in hygiene and clean standard, I feel satisfied. Would recommend this if you don't need beachfront.

Nice clean hotel but no good beach within a walk”

Clean hotel, friendly staff, will help you organize tours and motor bikes.

The hotel is very clean with nice modern rooms. It has a cool roof top deck from which to look over the town and night fish market right across the street. The staff was also very helpful in organizing a snorkeling tour for us and also renting motorbikes to us for us to explore the island with. The main problem with the hotel is its location. It's near the town and right across from the fish market but the nearest beaches to swim at are not within walking distance and there is no pool to supplement this with. If I were to go back to phu quoc I would try and stay a kilometer or 2 south from the lighthouses location in order to have access to a beach from the hotel. Also if you go to phu quoc check out rory's beach bar and pub which is a few kilometers south of the lighthouse hotel. If you ask him to give you a map and tell you the spots to check out on the island he'll give you some good advice and a better map than the hotel will give you.

Nice hotel.”

Beautiful view, clean, central location.

This is a nice hotel, very good for the price in Phu Quoc. We had a fine ocean view on the 6th floor, and the hotel was clean. The staff speak very little English, so if you want to do more than get your room and pay for it, you may have difficulties. The location is very central, less than a block to the night market. The nearby beach is not clean however, and did not appeal. You will need to rent a motor bike or go on a tour to go to a nice beach. The bathroom had a bad odor for a couple of days, and the room was infested with mosquitoes when we arrived (until we crushed them all). Nevertheless, I would stay there again, unless I decided to pay more (quite a bit more!) for a place on a nice beach. At the time of my visit, I think I would have had to pay at least $65/night for a reasonably nice place with an in-room safe on the beach.

Good value for Phu Quoc”

Clean, beautiful view, nice rooftop patio.

The hotel is fairly new, has nice rooms, and a beautiful ocean view on one side of the hotel. The staff does not speak much English, so it may be difficult to accomplish anything out of the ordinary. The location is central, right by the night market, but there is no good beach right nearby, so you will need to rent a motor bike and do some traveling, or go on a tour for a good beach. The bathroom had a bad odor for the first two days, and the room was infested with mosquitoes at the time we arrived. Nevertheless, this hotel is a good value for the money in Phu Quoc, and I would stay there again unless I decided to spend a lot more money for an equivalent room on a nice beach.

comfort, location

clean, but basic hotel with very basic breakfast. We booked this hotel for the first two nights on Phu Quoc because we wanted to check out the island and find a hotel near an area where we wanted to spend the rest of our week there. Having never been to Phu Quoc, we did not want to book a hotel sight unseen for a full week before arrival, because the prices here seem to be considerably higher than the rest of Vietnam. I would not suggest this hotel if you want to be close to the beach.

A mixed experience”

Modern, comfortable

This is a very new hotel on Phu Quoc. It’s modern and clean, but seems to have a number of teething problems. It’s not on the beach, but it’s not too far from Long Beach by taxi. Positives: + Clean and modern, rooms are a good size + Good air-conditioning + Bed is soft and comfortable + Front desk is reasonably helpful, but limited English Negatives: - There is no free airport pick up. They asked for VND250,000 ($12) to arrange a pick-up, but we just found our own for 180,000 on the meter. Taxis on Phu Quoc seem very expensive compared to the rest of Vietnam. - Breakfast is awful. They try to provide both Western and local options, but both are terrible, and it takes forever. I would suggest buying something from the bakery a couple of doors away, and eat it on the hotel's rooftop terrace. - They insist on keeping hold of your passport for the duration of the stay. I’m always against this because if there is ever any dispute then they have the upper hand. I would much rather they held a deposit on a credit card. - The safe is too small for a laptop, and as is commonly the case in Vietnam hotels, it’s not actually fixed to anything. - The hot water was unreliable. It seemed fine early morning, but would then run cold, but then be warm again later in the afternoon. - As with some other places in Vietnam we’ve stayed in, there is music and local announcements blaring out from loudspeakers at 5am. The soundproofing of the windows is poor, so be sure to bring earplugs. - There were coffee sachets in the room, but no kettle. We called reception and asked for one but it never appeared. - The WiFi was slow and unreliable. - The shower didn’t drain away, so flooded the bathroom floor. They did manage to sort it though. We booked at 50% off the standard rate, if it has ben at the full rate I would be more annoyed.

Decent...if staying short time better to upgrade”

Room comfort, shower, close to Night market

It is a decent hotel. The staff are friendly. Better suited to local customers as often the language difficulty is hard to overcome (not a complaint....I am in the foreign country so the staff do their utmost to help). The wifi is good, the shower is great and its relaxing. A little disappointing that the price I paid 2 weeks before my booking was actually double that was being charged during my stay. Doesnt really entice pre booking. I would say though if you are only on Phu Quoc for a short time it is better to pay a little extra and stay on Long beach or one of the other beaches

Boutique hotel smack in the middle of town”

Location, value, decor

Our stay at Lighthouse Hotel was an excellent one. The hotel was smack in the middle of town, beside a quaint little cafe as well as a dive center. It also has local coffeeshops just across the road and the Duong Duong Night Market is within walking distance. In fact, it is walking distance to most of the cafes and necessary amenities. The room was clean and had lots of light, and you could even see the sun set if you take the room facing the sea.

One minute from the night market, comfortable stay”

Location, comfort, value

Great simple design, yet extremely comfortable stay. The staff were very willing to help us with any questions that we had. The room was very comfortable, one of the best sleep I've had in VIetnam. The hotel is very well-kept and if very clean. Bathrooms were nice, with hot water, and nice water pressure. Location is superb where the night market is located across the street. And through the night market is the beach. Wi-Fi is extremely reliable and the fastest I've had while in VIetnam. Great stay, will definitely stay again.
