"Hotel was right opposite to the shopping center Gateway. It was very convenient, lots of shops, restaurants and the cinema. We just stayed for a night before we went down to Umhlanga at the beach hotel. Hotel was quiet even though the shopping center was nearby, had a good night sleep. The City Lodge Hotel is a 3star but at the higher end, I would put it as a 4star because of the pricing. For a 3Star hotel, it's expensive. Would recommend it. "

"really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. it was very convenient walking across the road to have a meal or go to the cinema due to the proximity of gateway umhlanga mall. rooms were functional and comfortable and serviced every day by friendly staff. i would say that the price offered by the price breaker weekend is spot on for what you get. one may expect lots more if you book through the main hotel's website, as the price almost quadruples for a weekend. at approx per night it may seem a bit costly for a tourist hotel. i really can't fault the hotel other that the fact that you have to pay per day parking to park in their basement. good stuff!"

"The building is brand spanking new with the smell of paint still in the air and a construction site adjacent where the newest section of the complex is being erected. The equipment in the rooms is more than adequate, functional but not yet "gemütlich". Carpets on the floor and pictures on the walls would give the rooms a less clinical feel. Why is the enormous TV located above the writing desk in the corner? Why is there no desk lamp? Eager, friendly and willing young staff are ready with advice, for example, on which lifts to use to find one's way out of the building. The location of the Capital Pearls is perfect for all who want to be close to the ocean in Umhlanga and yet also in the middle of the action for entertainment of an evening. Parking is free, covered and most convenient on the 4th floor, reception on the 5th, exit to the street on the 3rd. Now that we've orientated ourselves, we'd like to return."

"Regal INN is a beautiful hotel. Its convenient as to its location. The rooms are cosy. However, the walls do seeem a little thin cos you can somewhat hear a person in the other room. Their services are great too, friendly staff. We ordered breakfast at it arrived on time. Their last hick-up is that they don't have a pool and I really wished they did because of warm Durban temperatures. "
