We based ourselves at Forgotten World Motel for 5 nights. We received a very friendly welcome from the staff and they were always helpful. When considering the reasonable rate we paid for the room, the motel represents good value for money. The room was comfortable, with all basic facilities supplied for a comfortable stay. We did not notice much noise from road traffic or other guests and we got a good sleep. A good thing about staying in this town is that it makes a great base for day trips to the ridiculously beautiful scenery in the neighbouring regions, such as the Forgotten World Highway, Waitomo and Central Plateau. We hope to return for more adventures!

Best Motel Bed We've Ever Slept In”
Pros: Great value, fantastic bed, no street noise and nice staff. Cons: You can hear the neighbours and bathroom is very compact and larger people will struggle to get in and out.

Comfortable. Good that the, upstairs, room was at the same level as reception so my mum didn't have to climb stairs. Nice dining room and breakfast. Bed linen and curtains looked new, a nice surprise and quality feature.

Good location but poor room soundproof”
We stayed there before getting onto Timber Trail. The location wise was good and only 20 minutes drive to Ongarue. The room had most things we needed except proper rubbish bin. The room sound proofing was poor and basically you could hear the next rooms bathroom flushing noise in the middle night.

stayed in 2 bedroom unit no. 15. very neat and clean. well designed and maintained unit. Excellent checkin experience. lots of adventure tours from motel. a good place to explore the region by rail cart or waterways. Most recommended.
