"Booked 2 rooms some 3 hrs earlier at a great price on the 10th floor, so the views where good, easy to find and convenient for a stroll around Phayao. There is a pool and gym on level 4. Great service too when I requested a taxi to pick us up when a massive storm blew in and flooded the streets, arranged a pickup from 7Eleven down at the lake, 5 minutes later the hotels driver was there to take us back to the hotel safely.....highly recommend The Gateway."

"We stayed here two nights with our little baby. The staff was excellent and very helpful to us. Their service went above and beyond. The room was perfect, very big and the bed was a lot nicer/softer than most Thai hotels. And it has a western style bathroom/shower which is always good. The location is great, close to the lake and many little restaurants and coffee shops. We loved Phayao, a quiet and charming town. The breakfast was good but not great. Good enough for me though. If you want to experience the real Thailand with few tourists and an enchanting atmosphere I highly recommend Phayao and this hotel. It really was close to perfect, make sure you bring some warmer clothes for the morning!"

"Lovely hotel and service. Just stayed here for a night, but we'll be soon back again (Phayao is great by the way!). Just a few meters from the bus terminal and main market, 10 min to the lake. The adjacent cozy restaurant offers coffee, breakfast and food at reasonable prices. We'll be back soon!"
