best hotel so far (out of only 4 tho). cleanest, best staff, decent breakfast, cleanest bathroom and overall very impressed. would definitely recommend, just a bridge away from main things but rent a motorbike and it’s all so accessible

This hotel has been renovated last year and therefore clean and comfort. Breakfast also good and reasonable value for money. Just the location is not close to the center and just one good restaurant near by. Wireless network performance is good and this is very good for business traveller.

The Lac Long Hotel was the worst Hotel in the whole 4 weeks we travelled! The reception was not able to handle my problems! The room was way to expensive! I did a terrible mistake and booked the wrong room! I regret it! 50$ for a room like this is ridiculous!!!!! I had the whole 4 weeks better apartments and I paid less then 12$ a day!! Way to expensive!!! Never ever again!

not much in hai phong but if you need to stop then this hotel is ok. rooms are spacious with comfy bed and good shower. staff nice and breakfast ok too.... spa closed and gym pretty much useless....10 minutes walk into the town where there are some nice cafes and restaurants.

The room is large and very comfortable. It's quiet too. Not too far from downtown. The only thing is that Haiphong city is a very boring city, nothing to do. I would recommend to go rather to Halong city.

very clean room. location is good. walking distance to the main part of town and the ferry boats. staff is very helpful and speak English well. breakfast was good and offered many choices secure motorbike parking.

Haiphong”

Ended up in Haiphong as central Vietnam was flooding. Had a few days to kill before heading home. Not a lot to do in Haiphong. Its really a hub to go to other places. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with a variety of food types. The rooms are big and a littleworn around the edges. Other than that they are ok except for the nearby school which fires up the loud speakers at 7 am most mornings. Good for a one night stop over.

Good clean Hotel”

We decided to travel from Halong City and stay one night in Haiphong. Now we wished we stayed longer! Haiphong is a true Vietnamese city and not one of the popular tourist places. If you want to see how local people live then go here. This hotel was great value and the staff very helpful. Would stay here again for sure.

Great stay at LacLong”

I enjoyed very much during the 2 nites stay in Haiphong - staff Mr Phuong, Mr Trung, Ms Dung & Ms Phuong go above and beyond to help me feel at home. They took the initiative to suggest places to go and eat, offered to take me to pier for the boat ride to Catba and to pick upon return. Their ability to speak in reasonably good English help me tremendously to communicate with each other. The staff are also very friendly, polite and resourceful to help me during my stay. I stayed in 3 different hotels during my 1 week trip in Hanoi/Haiphong and by far, this is the most comfortable hotel. I would recommend any one who is intransit to Catba to stay at this place due to its very staff, comfortable room and great location close to Ben Binh pier. I want to recognise the front desk staff especially Mr Phuong, Mr Trung, Ms Dung and Ms Phuong and the hotel management for making my stay there memorable and enjoyable. Thank you.

We stayed two nights and the hotel was ideal for our visit to Haiphong.The hotel seems to be aimed nore at business travellers than tourists.The staff were friendly and helpful and we liked the room.It was a little bit of quiet in a busy city.In the city itself very few individuals spoke English and we struggled to find out about the different ferries and the biat tours we might be able to take.Everything seems geared up to travel and boat trips from Hanoi to Halong Bay

Beware! Hotel for smokers ! Not suited for tourist”

No no smoking room available! Even if our room was clean, the disgusting smell ruins all the efforts of the housekeeping ladies. Staff at the reception is not helpful for tourists, they don't have any info about their own city, one of them was even smoking at the reception!! Unbelievable! They bother you to stay at the lobby for theyr "welcome drink" but it's just a joke: you have the choice between a can of coke or seven up. We used their laundry service but my short went back with the same stains the next hotel washed up. Avoid this hotel which might be suited only for sales representatives.

everything was good as previous trip. this time was upgraded to a family room which was much spacious. the food is good but limited choices. the staff was kind and able to give appropriate assistance although some language barrier. generally a good business hotel for business traveler or family vacations

Excellent hotel. Could find no negatives. Staff spoke excellent English but outside hotel could be a problem. Only 1 hour from Halong Bay so consider staying here for 1 night to break up a long journey. 10 minute walk into town. Ask hotel about restaurants in city, if you do not want to eat in the hotel. If you are a traveller and like to meet the locals turn left out of hotel, next left and at the end of the street you will find a street bar. Worlds cheapest beer 5,000 dongs a glass. No English spoken but you will be made to feel very welcome. Once again many thanks to all the hotel staff for a lovely stay.

Very nice hotel in Hai Phong”

I had a great stay here. While this hotel seems targeted towards business travelers, I was very welcome and pleased as a tourist. The rooms are very luxurious and clean, and the front desk staff is very professional. Good breakfast buffet and great location. The hotel is conveniently located within a very short taxi ride from the Cat Ba Island ferry/hydrofoil terminal.

Good experience and, because we were taking a bus back to Ha Noi after staying there, it had a very good location (you can flag the bus outside the hotel (staff will help)). Not so useful if you are taking the train, but once you know the layout of the city, even that is not a problem given its a flat 20 minute walk with luggage type of experience or a short taxi ride. The layout, facilities, decor, and breakfast were excellent, and the hotel is very good value for money. It is also within easy walking distance of the port, the Cat Ba island ferries, and the main shopping street.
