In the heart of Madrid”
Generator Madrid has a great location. It’s beside Gran Via, the shopping district. It’s a 2 minute walk to the metro. And it’s a 10-20 minute walk to the usual tourist spots. The staff were nice and accommodating. The rooms were clean. Maybe I just wasn’t aware but I wish there was a common bath area as I had a hard time freshening up at night without waking up my roommates. But overall, a great experience. I love Generator Hostels, and I would trust it anywhere I go in Europe.

Central and convenient hostel”
We spent 4 nights at the double room. The window is small so don't expect a lot of natural light. Since it was cold we wanted to turn on the heater - did not help much. The Air was very dry and turning off the AC did not help (the air was still circulating?!) It is cold and dry in the entire building. The breakfast is very basic and there is now variety, each day is the same. They start to clean up the breakfast before the ending time which was a bit annoying and there was not many veggies (only tomatos) so not many options for vegans/vegetarians. The hostel is very modern and spacious, if you are coming with a big group it's ideal! Also the location is perfect!! Cant complain. Also liked the quick check-in and check-out which you can do online in advance. I would recommend it for its price and location if you are traveling during the warmer months!

Clean, classy, great ambiance, spacy beds, in the heart of the city. ATM inside the hotel which is amazing, locker rooms with automated passwords, friendly stuff that speak English. The only hostel that reminds me Tokyo and it's quality of service but it's a little bit expensive for what you get.

Friendly and helpful staffs. There's an iron in the 8 pax room. Need to pay for towels etc Out of 3 lifts, only 1 can reach floor at reception counter. Else you have to carry your luggage and go down some staircase.

A drunk man entered to dorm, he was tipsy and started peeing in a room. I reported the case to reception. Staff responsibility was too late. people in a room had to wait for cleaner over hour , staff did not mopping properly. Unsanitary ever!

Early mandarory checkout at 10am is a crime. To book an extra 3hours cost 15euros and there are only paying and expensive lockers for your baggage. To change hotel the next day(2pm checkin) we were forced to wait 4hours with our big baggages in a coffeeshop as personal food/drinks are not allowed in the hotel + The wifi is super FAST

No guest kitchen, and no outside food allowed. Hot tubs close for the winter (which is the best time for a hot tub), but this is not made clear in their advertising. Location and price are very good, but the experience was very lacking, just a place to sleep and shower.
