Exceptional”
W had such fun staying here and learning to dive with the Asia Divers team. I would fully recommend getting one of the sea view rooms, they're so cute and you're just that much closer to the beautiful water. I'd agree the rooms might feel a little dated, but we were really only sleeping in the room so it wasn't a problem for us. The bed was comfortable and the room had AC to combat the heat. If you are spending time in the room, rather than by the pool or on the beach or under the water, then there is a TV with a good selection of channels. There is also Wi-Fi available, which seems rare in the Philippines. The restaurant offers a good range of meals, though the portions are quite large, my one change would be to offer a "diver bites" menu with smaller portions for those who are about to go diving or between dives.

Great personalized experience”
It’s hard to imagine a better GM than Allison. She truly cares about her guests and creates an extremely personalized experience. Her creative, resourceful and efficient problem solving is what made my stay great. It’s not easy juggling divers with disparate skills and interests but she did so beautifully. El Galleon’s poolside economy rooms are simple but private and everything works. The fridge and kettle are a nice touch. The wifi was strong and consistent in the room and the restaurant was extremely accommodating with special requests. The setting is terrific - close enough to walk everywhere but far from the craziness of Sabang. Thanks again for a great stay.

A great place to stay, eat and relax. Our room had an excellent view of the sea. Food is great all the time. They have a great bar and great customer service. Value for your money.

One of the Best”
If you're a diver or just wanting to try diving for the first time, this is the best place to stay. Excellent services, excellent food, excellent everything. I love the privacy of the beach and all the activities they offer.

Dive Puerta Galera”
El Galleon is a very good choice for scuba divers staying Sabang. The staff is awesome, the food is really good, facility is clean and well equipped and well managed... the owner obviously cares about his property. EG is situated close to the Asia Divers office and dock away for the congested part of Sabang... which is a real convenience. I go to PG for the diving... EG hotel is a really nice facility to launch from.

Fantastic stay”
We really enjoyed our stay at El Galleon. Since the pandemic it's been very hard to plan trips in the Philippines, with the regulations changing constantly. Allison went out of her way to assist us and really went the extra mile to ensure that our trip went as smoothly as possible. The room was immaculately clean and exceeded our expectations and the we enjoyed the resort-style pool, the facilities, and the proximity to all that Sabang has to offer. If you're planning a dive trip or a holiday in Puerto Galera, you can't go wrong with this resort!

A lovely stay in a lovely resort”
My wife and I aren't divers but we've stayed at El Galleon several times before and were not disappointed this time either. Like all resort hotels it's had a hard 2 years but now it's fully up and running again and just as enjoyable as ever. The seafront location in Small LaLaguna is great, the Point bar serves excellent cocktails, and the restaurant is also fine. Allison and Ashley helped a lot with our bookings, especially navigating our way through the various Covid related paperwork and apps that are still required for travelling.

A very pleasant resort”
My wife and I aren't divers but we enjoy the location and ambience of El Galleon. The staff are excellent, the rooms are clean and the food in the restaurant is good. I think it's also good value for money compared with the outrageous ( in my opinion ) prices of nearby dive resorts. We stayed in a room right at the top - 75 steps up but lovely views. We did, though, have to request a wi-fi booster for the room as the signal so far up was non existent - the booster was quickly provided and did its job.

Average stay. ”
Staff receptionist seriously does not know the departure time for the ferry back to Batangas, as we left early and it was the wrong time. A huge hassle getting to Sabang as the port was closed. Terrible infrastructure. Food...nothing to write home about. Average stay, would stay elsewhere next time.

Nice Hotel in Sabang”
We were traveling with two young children (a 2 yr old and a 4 month old). When we arrived, we initially had an issue with our room but Ruby, the manager, quickly solved our problem and it resulted in a great stay for us. Our 2 yr old loved the pool and was able to use it every day because of the shallow steps at the edge. There was also a small wading pool above the main pool that he could play in. We weren't aware that Sabang was the noisier/nightlife part of Puerto Galera before we arrived, but El Galleon is located far enough from the bars and the main street that there was no noise and no problem. The only drawback is that you need to walk 10-15 minutes along the narrow beachfront walkway to get to the main road and restaurants, shops, and transportation. Although the hotel is situated on the beach, the beach in Sabang is not suitable for swimming or sunbathing - it's mainly a place to park boats and for divers/snorkelers to access the water. To have a true beach day you need to travel to White Beach which takes about 30 minutes and can be reached by trike (300P each way), jeepney (20P to PG Town then separate trike or motorbike), or motorbike (100P each way). The food at the hotel was very good so we ate there many times for breakfast and dinner as well. Overall, the staff was helpful, attentive, and friendly and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay here again.

Best Place to Stay in Sabang”
I really like El Galleon. I'm not one for big, slick hotels. I like the character of El Galleon with its thatched roofs and bamboo balconies. We wanted a seaview room but were given #3 when we checked in. You can only see the restaurant roof from inside #3 - you have to go to the balcony to get a slight view of the sea. But the staff let us move to #1 the next day - a real seafront room and IMHO the best room at El Galleon. The Point Bar is so named because it's right on the point between Small and Big Laguna beaches. So it's a hangout with a panoramic view of two bays. 2-for-1 happy hour! The restaurant is all open air and serves very good food. We never used the AirCon - the ceiling fan over the bed was really powerful. Great bathroom with huge shower area. Very comfortable bed. Watch the laundry prices! Expensive! Having strolled around both beaches, El Galleon sure looks to me like the best place to stay in Sabang.

Third stay in12 months”
Location is great, in a quiet part of town, 5 minute walk to the center of Sabang Beach. Rooms are clean. Too smallto spend any time in the room. But luckily El Galleon has a beautiful, large restaurant area for drinks and to access the Internet. El Galleon also has a beautiful and relaxing bar facing the sea. Food in Philippnes is in general sub par when compared to the rest of Asia. Sabang is one of the worst places in Philippines as far as food is concerned. El Galleon's restaurant is about average for Sabang. The best restaurant is called Papa Fred's. The food is not great but at least you don't get sick from the cheap oil that are used , over and over again,in places like the restaurant named Big Apple. That being said, this was my third one week stay in El Galleon in the last 13 months. The combination of diving and El Galleon compensated for the bad food in Puerto Galera.

great resort with a great restaurant and attentive staff”
El Galleon is a nice well kept resort on the beach. the rooms and buildings are made of native wood, bamboo and rattan. it feels like you're in Bali or Fiji. but the staff makes it authentic filipino. the location is not too far away from the ferry terminal and the nightlife. the restaurant has a great chef that makes delicious food. they also have a breakfast buffet, Indian buffet and Mongolian wok buffet. we stayed at the poolside room and it has nice amenities like a small ref, a small closet, and a small safe. we will come back and stay here again on our future visits to Puerto Galera.

Great location, ambience and scuba diving services”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Located right on the foreshore, with its own dive service, including a boat jetty only 50 metres away, this is an ideal location. Also sufficiently separated from, but only 5-10 mintues walk away from Sabang Beach seediness. The resort has a nice restaurant and bar, plus a second upstairs divers bar overlooking the sea. When the weather is fair they open up a bar and bbq on their pier. After walking up and down the beachfront checking out the dining and accommodation options, I returned to el Galleon saisfied tht I was at the pick of the bunch.

Quality Resort! ”
This is the place for seasoned travelers who want comfort, atmosphere, and quality. We are not divers (snorkelers only) but choose El Galleon over all the other resorts on Big and Little La Laguna that we've tried over 20 years of vacationing in Puerto Galera.

Great place to stay. Nice ocean view room”
We stayed at El Galleon, it was a very nice hotel, our room was an ocean view room, lots of stairs to the room, but very private with nice views of the ocean and morning sunrise. The staff was great, very accommodating, the hotel was easy to get to long the walkway. Breakfast was really nice, great choices from the buffet as well as the menu. We did not use Asia Divers, we dove with Frontier for a few days before heading out on a live aboard. The room was comfortable, not too large, and a very nice large deck. Bathroom was okay, nothing special but clean and functional. We would certainly stay here again when traveling to Puerto Galera.

Best Choice in Puerto Galera”
El Galleon/Asia Divers in my opinion was by far the best choice on the entire island. From the moment you step off onto the dock, their exceptional service overwhelms you. Although all hotels are relatively small there, with small rooms size, after talking with guests of other hotels and exploring the other options around the island, my entire party of 10 (including Chinese guests) were very happy we chose El Galleon/Asia Divers to spend our week of vacation there.

My second trip to paradise ”
I went there alone for a dive trip in 2008. The diving is 5 star and Asia Divers rocks. We had a sea view room and we spent a lot of time on the huge balcony just chillaxing. It was a great escape from Makati stresses and pollution. The only drawback to the epic view was the climb up.... We called it climbing the mountain :) It's on steep hillside and we thought it was equivalent to climbing 7 stories :). The food is awesome. The Executive Chef is from France and he really taught the line cooks well. It's a great location... Close to sari sari store in sabang. And yet very quiet when you need it. I highly recommend it.

great food + basic rooms = perfect dive trip!”
I came to Sabang to dive, and El Galleon is the perfect hotel to serve that need. There's a great PADI 5 star (though a little more costly) dive shop at the hotel. I didn't use them but they were definitely very knowledgeable. The resort has great location, as it is quiet but still only 5 minutes walking from the crazy night life. I must mention again that I really really loved the food. I only wish I ate here every meal!
