Staff excellent and friendly. rooms clean, shower rooms needs a little attention but still ok. would recommend this hotel to buget travellers, nice lounge area with tv. outside garden area, nice place to socializ. Internet access excellent one of the best I've used in Malaysia. Location excellent for Tanah Rato town area, food only 2 or 3 mins walk away. Well done Eight Mentigi Guest house

Room : very clean. Bathroom in a good condition. The heater working well. the bed very clean and the room is not too cold during morning. Best room to sleep. Facilities: parking just nearby. Easy access. Wifi is free and very fast. There are also tv and free tea and coffee for inhouse guest. Location: nearby town and food place. Very strategic location. In overall, extremely recommended to the others to stay. Thanks eight mentigi guesthouse for 3days 2nights for a nice vacation we had.

ALL ROOM AT LOWER GROUND”

No need to worry to carry all your luggage upstairs like other hotel in shop lot as all rooms are in lower ground (1 storey guest house) Ample relaxing area at entrance but limited parking space outside. Quiet night as it quite far at back of the road. Most of the rooms i think are shared bathroom to the next room, but if you are lucky, the next room is vacant and all toilet +shower is yours. Nice staff, lots of common sitting area & dining area. Clean toilet & shower, but could be cleaner. Close to a lot of amenities like banks, shops like groceries shop etc, eating places (Muslim foods also) and walking distance to Tanah Rata town, pasar malam, playground at MDCH field and CH main bus station. Wake up early and walk in the cold morning to the park and back. Have breakfast at hawkers or foodcourt on the way back ^_^

Quiet stayed”

Located at Tanah Rata. The room we got unexpectedly big enough for 3 of us (2a+1c) and it's the cheapest room rate we got during school holidays. very quiet during night time. we loved it! Thanks to the owner and the staff there for the excellent service. One more thing, this guesthouse are not suitable for a fussy guest. Thank you.

Budget Home Atmosphere”

8 Metingi Guesthouse is exceptionally clean and managed by Mr. Jacky. Its a walking distance from the bus stop and terminal in Tanah Rata town with nearby shops, affordable restaurants and a night market. It has a nice garden where u can enjoy your cofee /tea complimentary. Affordable rooms too . Cons: Only 1 socket inside the room/ and the water heater doesnt seem to function efficiently considering the cold temperature of cameon highlands. And u can get a great.night sleep because of running big rats inside the roof ceiling!

This guesthouse was extremely cosy in terms of the other travelers and the environment; very laid back. The rooms were nice, spacious and clean. Since it is a guest house, luxurious amenities are not expected but I was grateful that the owner had a hair dyer for loan at the main desk since it was a cold night! The owner was also able to organize our half day trip with Eco Cameron easily with a phone call, saving us quite abit of time and hassle. One last good thing is the location; we could easily walk out to the main road for our meals and plenty of small convenience shops!

Great stay!”

We stayed here for 3 nights and had an absolute blast! The owner is fantasitic, immediately on arrival he gave us heaps of ideas as to how to spend our time in Cameron Highlands, where we could eat etc. Nothing was too much to ask and he went out of his way to make sure we felt at home (and we did!). Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Also has a nice outdoor area where you can sit and have a beer after a long day exploring. Would definitely stay again.

Old guest house but very convenient and quiet”

It's a rather old guest house but the management did try to make it as comfortable as possible for guest. Stayed in a room for 3. Happy with it as it was hassle free and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had good quality sleep there. We stayed in a hotel above a restaurant in Brinchang town the night before and is was too noisy with honking and loud passing vehicles. You can just walk to Tanah Rata town. Easy to get food within walking distance from the guest house. Overall, satisfied.

Excellent guesthouse- thoroughly recommended”

Location is great- set down a quiet street, a couple of minutes walk to Tanah Rata. The staff have excellent English speaking skills and we're always very helpful and friendly. They seemed to go out of their way for everybody who stayed there and you could ask them anything. There is a nice lounge and outside area- a great place to relax and a really good atmosphere. Any bus transfers and tour packages can be booked through the guesthouse and they'll provide any required information. It seemed the tours were the same price as in town, which is quite rare. All in all, great backpacker place that offers private rooms as well as dorms. Would certainly stay again.

Great Hospitality by the Owner”

This guest house located near the attraction of Cameron Highland (Tanah Rata). The owner is very friendly and the room was clean. Great stay here in Cameron Highland.

Good for Backpackers but not for family”

We stayed here for 2 nights. Even you are expats working in Malaysia, you still need to pay tourism tax which is RM 10 per night. The check out time as per agoda is 12 pm, however hotel check out time is 11 am. Very basic rooms but clean. They have a shuttle service from Tanah Rata bus station to the hotel but not back from the hotel to bus station. To avail the shuttle, you need to contact hotel staff as there are no fixed timings.

Pleasant Stay”

Strategic location - just a 10 minute walk from the bus stop and a few minutes away from the restaurants. The guest house is off the main road so you can be assured of a quiet and peaceful stay. Overall the guesthouse was quite clean. The only thing that bothered me was the maintenance of the bathrooms but other than that everything was good. Free tea and coffee was available all day and the guesthouse allowed visitors to make use of their utensils, microwave, toaster and fridge. The downside was that it gets quite cold and chilly at night and the one blanket provided does not suffice. I suggest bringing full sleeves clothes to keep warm. Also there are hoards of mosquitoes around the area so bring your own mosquito repellent because the mosquitoes enjoyed eating us for dessert at night. Another downside was that the rooms have thin walls so you'll basically hear everything going on outside. And the window panels don't close properly so it might be a hassle. During our stay there weren't a lot of people so we didn't get disturbed too much. The staff was pleasant. One of the managers is extremely friendly and openly gives advice where needed. The second one seem grumpy but he's not. He came and assisted us where needed and familiarized use with the facilities. At first we felt he's a little rude but later realized he doesn't mean it and it's just the tone of his voice but overall he's quite nice. I would definitely recommend staying at this guesthouse

Not really keen on sharing bathroom but we didn't had a choice since it was available in Tanah Rata. Great choice, the manager Jacky gave us a warm welcome and hospitality was superb. Will definitely stay again

Home Like atmosphere in Cameron !!!”

We were 5 adults with 2 infants. Our family had the feeling of living at own house. Management staff is very helpful and friendly. They helped in assisting lot of things. Location is scenic and peaceful in spite of happening place in Cameron. Good connectivity to all tourist places. I would strongly recommend this place and would like to visit again in future

Mentigi is in a good location with clean and comfortable facilities. Jackies advice for tours, walks and onwards transport were right on the money and certainly enhanced our stay

Stayed for one night & i was truly satisfied with the rooms given. Asked for 3-person rooms, they gave me 4-person rooms, which is so nice of them. There are 2 things i dislike about the guest house. Firstly, the location. The guest house is hard to find. I spent almost half an hour searching for it. It lacks signs that lead the guest house's location. Second thing is the walls are paper thin & you can hear people talk & some of the guests were talking so loudly it disturbed my sleep.
