Beautifully located, enjoyable stay”
Brisbane, Australia - the Edgewater Hotel is a clean and well maintained hotel positioned right on the edge of Lake Wanaka. The location is second to none - prime lake front and close to town. The staff and service were also highly commendable and very enthusiastic. Some things I think other travellers should know: * walls can tend to be paper thin (we could easily hear conversations in the room next door) * WiFi is free, but patchy. All our devices had issues maintaining a connection and they constantly dropped out. WiFi was also slow relative to other offerings we experienced * Room only has heating, no cooling. Not an issue in winter, but room can get stuffy during hot summer days Would I stay here again? Probably - but only at the right price.

Amazing Hotel”
Edgewater is the most beautiful hotel we stayed in New Zealand, Situated conveniently around Lake Wanaka it has one of the best facilities to vouch for. The lakeside room have specatacular view of lake and the balcony opens up into the garden area around the lake. The rooms are big and spacious with great kitchen, dining and sitting area. The service is prompt and we had the most amazing time at this hotel

Cosy place by the lake”
The hotel room we had was cosy, clean and had a fantastic view of Lake Wanaka. We loved the place so much that we extended our stay in their Suite rooms which we loved even more! The only downside about our stay was the lack of wifi and weak wifi signal at times! We wished we had more and better wifi to upload and share our wonderful stay at Edgewater with our friends and family back home!

Very good sceneric and comfortable and good staff”
Edgewater is excellent hotel with very nice Wanaka Lake scenery, you can walk to lake by few steps. Look out from the room can see stars on the sky. Food and wine is very delicious. Staff is very friendly. Room is absolutely clean and comfortable.

Romantic location”
This is an excellent hotel, right at the edge of the lake with exceptional lake and snow capped mountain views. Our room is spacious and has balcony and views. The beddings are quite good, we had goodnight sleeps. The grounds of the hotel is like a park. In the morning you hear birds chirping, but is is always peace and quiet at all times. The hotel is a short stroll to the “That Wanaka Tree” and 20 min walk to town centre. I have not used other facilities, but I can see the hotel has a tennis court. I am very happy to stay again to this hotel.

Lovely Hotel”
This was a lovely hotel. It was not in the town center but just around the lake a bit. Walking distance (along the shore) to "That Wanaka Tree". Staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was large and the bed was comfortable. My room had a small patio over-looking a small pond. Had a glass of wine out there in the evening and my coffee in the morning. Bathroom had all the amenities you need and I appreciated the robe. All in all, one of my favorite places I stayed over the 2 weeks I was in New Zealand. The town itself is a wonderful place. Has that ski town vibe, young and active crowd.

Exceptional”
Absolutely loved it! My husband wants to go back to Wanaka just to stay in this hotel. We were there on New Year’s Eve. Had a good view of the new year fire works, close to the city, the solitary tree is right next to the hotel. You get a good view of the mountains and the lake: room was super clean. My daughter enjoyed sitting in the nook and watching the birds and swans roam around the garden. The bed was cozy, the kitchen was spacious. Absolutely loved my stay there!!

Very Good View”
Certainly, the hotel has excellent Lake Wanaka view. Unforturnately, I think we got one of the room with the worst view in the hotel (we booked the room via the Agoada). I think over 95% rooms with very good lake view. Yet, the room is spacious, clean and quiet. The staff is very nice and polite. If we revisit the Wanaka, we do want to book this hotel again and wish we will have a little bit luck to not live-in the worst view room.

Quaint hotel with spectacular view”
Edgewater lives up to its name. A resort at the edge of Lake Wanaka. We booked a one bedroom suite, which was big enough to house 4-5 people! the hotel tolm was equipped with much equipment to make the stay a pleasant one - washing machine, microwave oven. A good option if you need a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Good hotel, nice location ”
Very nice location, three minutes drive to the town. Suitable for someone want a bit privacy but at the same time a convenient location. We stayed in the upper floor. It is enjoyable to stay in the hotel room to enjoy the lake view and the pool view. The room is clean, the water supply is stable, which is particularly important in autumn/winter time. We would recommend our friend to this hotel when they go to Wanaka.

Has everything you need”
We were a group of 3 and got a one bedroom apartment for one night. They had the pull out couch made up and ready to go when we arrived. Excellent view of the lake, full kitchen with two burners if you like to cook, selections of coffee, teas, and hot chocolate, washer / dryer combo in the bathroom, which was perfect for us because we needed to do laundry. Staff was friendly and helpful though they would not budge on the 10am checkout with a 30 min grace period. On site restaurant was decent for breakfast but limited choices. The food was good nonetheless. Thet have a beautiful outdoor space with chairs to lounge around by the lake. We considered staying an extra night but they were fully booked. It's about a 20 min walk to the town center and if you don't mind a stroll along the lake it's a very nice walk. Free on site parking. I'd totally stay here again (for multiple days if possible) if I ever return to Wanaka.

excellent location”
Only stayed for 1 night but couldn't really find any issues. The hotel is in a beautiful setting with about a 20 minute walk into Wanaka. Rooms are spacious and clean. Being picky, the internet was not particularly strong in my room which was some way from reception - this may have been the reason!

Cosy , comfortable and Spacious”
Great service from the front desk lady who helped me organize several of my tours. The large spacious and clean rooms, with the nice lakeviews also leave us witn some great photos and memories. All in all , a great choice for 2-3 nights stay in pretty Wanaka.

Beautiful grounds and very comfortable room ”
Our room was upgraded without our asking - it was a beautiful room with windows and sliding doors opening onto a spacious lawn and pond - a delight to spend time in. A short walk along the lake to arrive in "downtown" Wanaka - one of the best hotels of the holidays!

Clean rooms and best lake view of lake wanaka. Only 7-10 mins walk to the wanaka tree. Ducks outside our room and this is such a relaxing place. Will stay here again!

A Resort with beautiful lake sense ”
The resort is quite near the lake of Wanaka. The beautiful sense is just available with opening your door. You directly walk to the lake from rooms through grass. The facility however is not as good as its lake view. And the food they provided is not that more than expected, according its price. In all, you would not regret for choosing it in Wanaka, if you are ok with its price.

Location, location, location”
just a lovely spot. Make sure you walk the 5-10 min round the lake to "That Wanaka tree". Basic tea & coffee making facilities but only sink is in bathroom so hard to fill kettle. Great restaurant but not cheap.

The first impression was how clean it was, facilities were up to date. it is within walking distance of the famous That Wanaka Tree. The lake view out of room was wonderful. We are already planning to come back next yr, well recommended

good facilities and location, infact fantastic one of the best places in wanaka to stay at. bathrooms for the starndard rooms could have been upgraded.
