Rooms in new building are MUCH nicer”
Right on the river, with a nice garden and rooms (in the new wing) have balconies looking down onto the river. There was horrible loud music in the park across the river much of the day on Saturday (and late into the night) but everyone in town must have suffered from that. We stayed one night in the old wing and one in the new wing--the rooms in the new wing are much nicer.

overall is ok but i feel the room is slightly overpriced. the cons as follow 1. room is quite small 2. should have a water boiler/kettle. 3. no toiletries provided, such as toothpaste, bathing soap and shampoo. 4.

bamboo hotel”
the hotel is mostly made of bamboo. bamboo need high maintenances, but here we feel the bamboo power falling slowly every day. even if one walk on attic we can see power like material falling like snow. no hot water on night no water heating kettle no tooth brush no hair dryer. no breakfast buffet, we have o choose from three menu fried rice/noodle/pancake. pancake and friedrice are worst choice.

I spent two nights (Friday and Saturday) and I only came to see the orangutan and elephants in Tangkahan. So I wasn't expecting much. But still it was very disappointing. The tours organized through the hotel were over-priced and not very pleasant (but this is common in this not so tourist friendly area I've been told). No hot water in the bathroom (only a small soap, no gel, shampoo) - full of ants, cockroaches and mosquitoes. No blankets just sheets, the first night was freezing (because it rained the previous day, humidity was 95%). no Wifi in all areas. Breakfast - only 1 option - an American breakfast (eggs and toast), a pancake, fried rice or noodles. Each dish with a tiny glass of watermelon juice and 3 small slices of pineapple. I could have had 2 portions. Coffee/ tea unlimited, but not great. The yoga, lounging room, was great, but not very clean. The restaurant looked great at night and the meals were so much better. The mohito needed alcohol. Prices high!

Best for short unplanned leisure travel”
Stay here for 1 night with my older parents. Rooms are clean. Beautiful location, especially spent a lot of time in the restaurant's 2nd floor. Even if you don't want to explore outside, there are plenty things to see around the hotel's location.

Wonderful, unique experience. ”
We stayed at Ecolodge the day before a jungle trek with local guides as it was recommended on their website. We were not disappointed! First of all, the staff are brilliant, all so friendly and everyone always says hello as you pass. They are always happy to help. The food was fantastic too, with dishes made with local ingredients and some even grown on site. So delicious. Our room was lovely and clean, spacious and we even had a mini rainforest in the bathroom! We loved this. The main structure is really beautiful and fits well with the jungle surroundings as it is all made of bamboo. It’s so pretty lit up at night and there is a little chill out area upstairs. We saw lots of wildlife when we arrived and the ladies working in the restaurant even pointed out a beautiful (and not dangerous) moon snake to us in a nearby tree! We loved our stay here and wished we had stayed for longer than one night. Really unique experience. As it is an ecolodge, they are passionate about recycling and leaving little impact on the environment so bear in mind you won’t get a hot shower - but that’s okay as it was still refreshing from the heat! With beautiful views over the river and monkeys playing nearby you will not be disappointed, especially at a price that is such good value for money.

Had a fractured wrist during a jungle trek, so had to go to Medan for surgery, the staff kindly packed my bags and sent them via the guide. I would love to come back, the restaurant area is very beautiful and the room was very clean and elegantly furnished. I wish I could have stayed longer.

The location of the hotel is nice, next to the river. Also most of the staff really tried their best to make it nice. Also the jungle tour with Smile (Ismael) was amazing! We got to see orangutan’s. The food in the restaurant is so-so. The fresh juices are very nice. Cappuccino costs €1,50. Which is expensive. What I didn’t like was the service of some staff and the room. pleass keep in mind that it is in the middle of the jungle! I couldn’t sleep all night because there was a gecko inside my mosquito net and I woke up with it next to my face during a nap in the afternoon... I asked the reception to fix the net and get rid of the gecko, but they only tucked the mosquito net in, leaving the gekko in it, in the evening it was there again. Furthermore the room was big and spacious, but full of ants and small lizards. This is because it is an open environment (underneath the door is space). If you like this kind of adventure this is great, for a city girl like me this was a bit much. You can hear everything in the room. All the jungle sounds. I’m happy it was only one night. Also what I didn’t like was the way some people at the reception and restaurant were a bit unhelpful and even a bit disstrusting at times. We were still having dinner and they asked if we could pay the bill (at 21:30)? We ordered something and we wanted to change our sprite to water (it was a can and not opened yet) and they said it was already in the computer and they couldn’t change it. For me that is not good service. Also the steps to the room were completely dark and no one offered to walk with us. Some of the staff is just hanging around a bit, I don’t like that. Lastly note that we stayed here on a Friday and we could hear karaoke from the hotel across the river until deep in the night. Not nice. All in all a good hotel, but not great.

Vier Premiumzimmer gebucht und bezahlt und Basic Zimmer erhalten und zum Check-Out noch eine Zahlungsnachforderung von Chandra weil der der Meinung ist, dass die Paybal-Gebühr der Gast extra dazu zu zahlen hätte. Während unseres Aufenthaltes bekamen etwa 20 Gäste akute Magenprobleme, weil altes Hühnerfleisch, auf Anordnung des Managements, ausgespeist wird.

Positif : Lokasi Sangat Bagus Sekali, dekat kemana mana (jembatan sangat aman) ada security menjaga 24 jam. Restoran Luar Biasa, makanan dan bangunannya, lantai 2 adalah lokasi santai terbaik. Staff sangat ramah, 2 thumb up.... terima kasih kepada Mbak Nuri yang sudah membantu koneksi wifi u sekolah online putri saya. Terakhir, Sungai depan Hotel sangat rekomended. Harus dicoba mandi di pagi hari, ketika suasana masih sunyi. Tips terbaik : - Jalan 9 menit dari belakang akan ketemu restoran On The Rock Cafe dengan view luar biasa, sekaligus melihat OrangUtan tanpa perlu bayar pemandu (melihat dari jauh dan jangan lupa bawa pisang dan kacang). - Jalan 30 menit dari belakang akan menuju Bat Cave yang layak untuk dikunjungi dengan penjaga pemuda yang ramah dan informatif. Negatif : 1. Ruangan banyak serangga 2. Design Kamar mandi dengan atap terbuka sedikit tidak biasa dan risih. Terima kasih.
