The Earnslaw Lodge picked a prime piece of real estate for its location when it was built in the 1970’s. It’s a pleasant 15-minute walk into Queenstown through its . amazing lakeside park. You will see dozens of newer, and more expensive lodgings in Queenstown- but few can match the Earnslaw Lodge’s lake- view rooms for jaw-dropping views. Not all of the rooms have the spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu- but the ones that do are the ones to reserve. You may not see a lot of Queenstown because you might not leave your room!

Stayed in Earnslaw Lodge for 3 nights, couldn't have asked for a better place! Gorgeous lake views, excellent service, very comfy bed, has everything you need for a short getaway to beautiful Queenstown. The place is a short walk away from all the adventure and wonder that awaits in town, perfect for post dinner strolling. Would definitely stay in Earnslaw Lodge again next time we're in QT.

Great price for lake view location”

Earnslaw Lodge is in a great location, near to Queenstown centre but with a fantastic lake view for a reasonable price. Great guy on reception, very helpful and did everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Good value, friendly service”

Our stay at Earnslaw lodge was pleasant. It's in a relatively good location, an easy 15 minute walk into town. The hotel itself has decent facilities, and is very clean. But you do get what you pay for; the place was tired and in need of a renovation - it was very tired and lacked amenities like plugs in the bathroom and a telephone. Overall, if you're looking for a clean place to stay, with friendly service, at a good price point, Earnslaw is a great option!

Birthday trip”

We celebrated a 50th birthday in Queenstown as a family. Earnslaw Lodge was a perfect place to stay with fantastic views and close walking distance into the town.

Good location and friendly staff”

The location is good, by the mainroad and a short walk to the centre and to the Time Walk to the hill. The room was big and clean and the view from the lake facing room was really fantastic. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I did not eat in the hotel, so I cannot say anything of the food. Earnslaw Lodge is really worth of its price and I can recommend it.min. 50 words

Exceptional”

I arrived early (around 10AM), which was way before check in but they had a room ready and let me check in, which I thought was nice. Also, the people who checked me in were extremely helpful in planning out what to do during my stay there. The view from my room was beautiful. Queenstown itself is very small, it can take you about ten minutes to walk across it, and the Lodge is about a ten minutes walk outside of town. There is a little hill to go up but it is very very manageable and I enjoyed staying here.

Value for Money in Quenstown”

I'm staying in Earnslaw Lodge, and very happy with everything. The staffs is friendly and helpful, the room is big and clean. I will stay here again if next time I go to Quenstown again.

The lodge is located just 10min walk from Queenstown town centre and very close to all the restaurants and attractions. Staff was very friendly and helpful advising best attractions and looking for available deals.

Exceptional”

Excellent view. We had lake facing room. More than anything else, the lady at the counter saved us from what could have been a dangerous travel with our 4yrs old. We were all set to leave for Franz Josef glacier and loaded our bags, the lady at the counter warned us about the landslide and highway closure with really bad weather conditions which we were completely unaware of. She helped us to call the road authorities and then we changed our plans and went to Queenstown instead. Thanks so much!!

Great clean motel ”

Stayed here for four nights. We booked a room with lake view, and the view was stunning. Room and bathroom are clean. Great location too, just a short walk to Queenstown Garden and city. Overall is good. Bus stop in front and opposite of the motel. Convenient to take bus to Arrowtown and airport. No cons.

Breathtaking view”

We stayed in the Lake Facing Studio, and this hotel can brag itself for having one of the best views in Queenstown. Staff is friendly. Room is spacious and clean. Only thing is that the WiFi is limited to 500MB per person and you'd have to purchase for more.

Dramatic lake view indeed!”

We were awed by the view!! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There were also laundry facilities available. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Very value for money for the view and central location (walkable to the heart of Queenstown where all the good food are). Love the stay!

Spectacular Views”

We loved our stay at the Earnslaw. It was quite and clean, perhaps a little older, but every effort was made to make the rooms presentable and comfortable. The Husband and Wife team were friendly and very accommodating. Our view was spectacular and we enjoyed a wine and a simple dinner in the armchairs provided, in front of the ranchslider, watching the sun go down.

Very beautiful place to stay”

I love this place very much because I can see the lovely Wakatipu lake from my balcony room. I cannot say any more word when I open the door from it. I hope to back to Queenstown and stay here.

Friendly staffs that make you feel at home”

This is our 2nd stay here and we love it. Being budget traveller, we wanted to cook on our own but booked a wrong type room instead(without cooking facility). Staffs were friendly and understanding and we received a free upgrade without additional cost. Room was big with a cosy feeling. Staffs were very helpful in providing information and helping us to book the different tours in Queenstown. City centre is walking distance away (15min) and bus can be taken nearby. We would love to stay there again!

Very helpful and friendly staff”

Lynsey does a great job of making guests feel at home. Happy to help find activities. Earnslaw has units with great views on top floor. Also recommend Cook and glacier flight at $595 each in small plane with Air Wakatipu.

We had a very pleasant stay although it’s quite pricey. It’s only 5 minutes drive from Queenstown airport which was a huge plus for us as we had an early return flight. Staff was extremely helpful. Thanks to everyone for making our stay so wonderful.
