A Hidden Gem”

A friend & I only had the one day (Sunday) in Ho Chi Minh and arrived mid morning at Duc Vuong Hotel, not expecting our room to be ready until the afternoon but hoping to be able to store our baggage there while we explored the town. To our pleasant surprise we were informed 1 room (we had booked 2) was ready for us then, and when we were showed to the room we found we had been upgraded to rooms on the 7th floor which is the highest level below the restaurant and rooftop bar. What a bonus as we were able to shower and begin exploring the town that morning. The rooms were queen sized beds and the were clean and tidy - the only complaint about being in the 7th level is if one leaves the bathroom windows open the street aromas (laundry, waste) waft in later in the day - but this is mitigated by turning on the air conditioning or just closing the windows. One of the best features of Duc Vuong has to be its rooftop bar which has a fantastic view of the surrounding area. The beer is inexpensive and its easy to down more that a bottle or two relaxing here during the day. At night the rooftop is quite busy with visitors - so its not such a hidden gem as word is spreading. Duc Vuong's location is at the edge of the backpacker area which is also a good feature - within walking distance of all of District 1's key attractions. The staff were polite, proficient and could communicate to us with good English (to our embarrassment as our Vietnamese was very poor).

Hotel that makes you feel like a family”

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we knew we made the right choice. Duc Vuong hotel is strategically located at the tourist area of HCMC. With its prime location near to tourist spots, it offers a great way to maximize your stay by walking your way to places of interest. Ben Than market is just a 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Also, the rooftop bar offers a way to enjoy the night without leaving the hotel. They have wide selections of vietnamese food. Although some reviews makes comments about the noise, we stayed at 5th floor and were not directly affected. Not sure about those staying at 6th floor tho. Their hotel staff is very friendly. Kudos to all of them, from the security guard, to the receptionist, and special mention to Lee who gave us the best service we received from hotel staff so far. She's very cheerful and friendly. Not to mention the surprise she gave to my partner who is celebrating his birthday, she, actually all of them, makes us feel very welcome like a family. Their travel agency partner, Tam Global Travels, also gave us the best service that we can get. Kudos to their way of reaching out to their customers by giving us the best travel service that we can get. I had a great tour of Mekong and Cu Chi. True enough we get more than what we paid for. If ill be returning to HCMC soon, for sure I will pick Duc Vuong hotel as our host and Tam Global Travels as our travel agency. Thank you for an awesome vacation. Until next time :)

Hassle free”

We stayed at Duc Vuong Hotel twice on our trip, 4 nights at the start and 1 night at the end, the hotel was recommended by a friend who lives in Ho Chi Minh City. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the doorman even helped us to cross the motorcycle mayhem of the street when we first arrived. They also monitor the taxi rego numbers should you get ripped off by an unscrupulous driver. The staff are mindful of your safety at all times and give you helpful tips everytime you leave to go out. There is a great, cheap rooftop bar with city views which is an excellent place to unwind after negotiating the craziness of a day out in the city. This hotel would suit singles, couples and families travelling on a budget. I would definately stay here again and would also recommend to others.

Duc Vuong Hotel is rigt on the Bui Vien Walking Street of District 1 (a circus of bars and restaurants) and within a short walk of key tourist spots in Ho Chi Minh (Benh Than Market, Notre Dame Cathedral, War Remnants Museum, Reunification Hall). the rooms are spacious with adequate toiletries, the usual complimentary bottled water, and complimentary popcorn and coffe too. the staff are polite and helpful and breakfast was great. a thumbs down is the tiny and super slow elevator.

Great value for a Vietnam hotel through AGODA”

Duc Voung hotel with its central location in District 1 is ideal for artwork/painting enthusiast as it has a number of neighboring small galleries. There are also a good number of choices of dining outlets, bars, art and crafts shops just few steps away from the hotel. Even for first timer vacationer in that part of Ho Chi Minh city's District 1, small malls like the Zen Plaza along Nguyen Trai, a local market, groceries are so conveniently accessible. Best of all, the hotel staff are so attentive and friendly. Its budget rate is best enjoyed by booking through agoda. Will love to come back and I highly recommend the hotel to other vacationers in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.

One of a kind stay at Duc Vuong Hotel”

The staff was unbelievable and made our stay the best. They constantly made sure we were okay and took care of our every need. One night we came down at 3am and there was someone there to help answer our questions. They also booked our 13 day trip in Vietnam. They took care of flights, hotels, tours, and private cars for us to get from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi. They went over and beyond for us and got us some discounts. The location is amazing and right in the center of backpacker street. The amenities were great with free breakfast, some waters each day and 10% off the food on the roof top. The roof top is also beautiful with live music at night and the food is great. I am so happy I chose Duc Vuong Hotel because they have made this trip for us.

An Outstanding Hotel”

Our stay at the Duc Vuong was outstanding. It was easily one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff mad us feel immediately welcome and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The food and service was excellent - the rooftop bar matched amazing views with lovely food and drink. We had the family (interconnecting) rooms which was great for our family of four. The central location was wonderful, being close to great food, many sights and travel connections. When we return to Ho Chi Minh City we will definitely stay here again. We would recommend it to everyone.

Great Value for Money, Location and Food”

Duc Vuong Hotel is just walking distance from the bus stop-over of Cambodia to Ho chi minh trip. There was also money exchange and tour offer in the hotel. The bar roof top has an amazing view and offers discount if you are a guest. The breakfast buffet is also a plus! Definitely, this hotel is recommended to travelers in Ho chi minh. :) We are family in Duc Vuong Hotel.

Best hotel we stayed in...”

We checked into the Duc Vuong for the first 5 nights of our holiday in Vietnam as a base from which to soak up the Saigon experience. It was simply a great hotel. Perfect location on Bui Vien St which, whilst a major tourist thoroughfare, still offer some of the best shopping, eating and drinking around. The hotel is very well presented and exceptionally clean. Sure, there are cheaper options, but the facilities far exceeded that of other hotels we stayed in at only a little extra charge. We paid only $24 p/n for a standard room that whilst small (one got used to stepping over our baggage to get to the bathroom), was perfectly clean and quiet. The rooktop bar has exceptional views over the district. The buffet breakfast is very generous, allowing guests to fill up before a big day out. And for thos inclined to stay in the hotel also offers free dinner. Another great thing: every level has a number of filtered water coolers for guests to fill up their own bottles free of charge. We made good use of this is the humidity. The doorman on the day shift (I regret not introducing myself properly) is an exceptional host, gracefully hailing down a xe om or taxi for you. We booked a 3 days/2 nights Mekong Delta tour through the hotel's reception (My Tho, Can Tho, Chau Doc and places in between), for a staggering low price of $36 per person. I was really knocked out by the tour and we had a wonderful time, staying in a sparse but adequate budget hotel in Can Tho, and a floating hotel near Chau Doc. We stayed at the Duc Vuong again for New Year's Eve and had a ball walking the surrounding streets.

We stayed in the hotel for 5 days and 4 nights. What we liked best in the hotel was their food, (buffet breakfast with free dinner). The hotel staffs are friendly. On the first day of our stay, we chose to go around the city (Ho chi minh)by walking because it will only take you 10 mins to reach Ben thahn market from the hotel. We were also able to visit war remnants museum, reunification palace, Notre dame cathedral, post office, central committee building and more. We also had our tour at Mekong delta, Cu Chi tunnel and Cao Dai temple which we all booked at the agency situated at the hotel lobby. In general, we were satisfied to have chosen Duc Vuong Hotel.

Comfortable Rooms, Fantastic Breakfast, Great Staff”

Comfortable room with 1 queen size bed and a single bed. Towels, toiletries, bottled water and snacks provided. My toilet came with a bathtub. Very good location in Bui Vien street which has lots of restaurants and pubs to dine. The street can be quite lively at night. Within 15 minutes walk of Ben Thanh Market. Staff were extremely polite and friendly - credit to those doormen who could recognise us from far off and rush to help us. Hotel's breakfast was also very good - lots of meat dishes that change every morning. Throughout my stay I had chicken, fish, beef, pork sausages, prawns, squid, etc. Breakfast was so filling that I skipped all my lunches! Thank you very much for the great time Duc Vuong! Will definitely stay here if I'm back in Ho Chi Minh! :)

Really nice staff and a great hotel to stay at.”

i couldn't have chosen a better hotel for my trip to ho chi minh. i stayed at duc vuong hotel for 6 days including the new year's eve, when they organized a party. they have a variety of rooms to choose from and they are very clean. the hotel also has a concierge that was really helpful to me since it was my first trip in vietnam. there are affordable restaurants just across the street. i would stay at the same hotel if i went back so i strongly recommend it.

Friendly staff and good location”

First of all, the service is good. When we first reached the hotel by cab, the staffs rushed to us to take our luggage when we were still counting cash for our cab driver! They also make sure they open the door for their customers every single time. The security guard during day shift is really friendly and would greet us with a big smile everyday which instantly lifted our mood. He is also very helpful when we needed cabs and would hail cabs for us and told the drivers where to go in Vietnamese (most of the drivers there don't understand English). Second, the location. Bui Vien street is also known as the backpackers street so there are lots of eateries along, be it cafes or restaurants or street vendors. You can walk into the alleys and discover lots of small eateries as well. It can be a little rowdy and noisy because there are lots of pubs and bars along the street, but Duc Vuong Hotel is located near the end so it is still peaceful at night. Thirdly, the food. Their hotel is breakfast has sufficient variety. Every morning there will be fruits, salad, cereal, rice/noodles, soup/porridge, vegetables and meat. There is also noodle soup and you can request for eggs as well. We went up to their rooftop restaurant during one of the nights and even though the pricing is higher, it is still affordable. Their amenities are good. Wifi signal strong in our room. Piping hot showers everyday. Lots of TV channels in the room. We also have a small fridge and a safe. They have very efficient room service although the pillows smell a little stale. We just put a tee over and all is good, though I'm sure if u request for an exchange they will be more than willing to do so. Overall we are happy with our stay here. The service and attitude of the staffs are the main reason of this good review. And we will definitely visit Vietnam again!

Great value for money and brilliant location”

Hotel was lovely. In a great location for someone's first time in the city. Rooftop bar was brilliant. 18,000 dong for Saigon green (56p!) For a rooftop bar the prices are great! Staff were so nice and helpful. Air con in room was great. Area where hotel is great, next to lots and lots of bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again if we end up back in Ho Chi Minh. Exceeded Expectations ”

The service here is absolutely phenomenal. We were always greeted with a smile and the staff were always super helpful. The room was comfy and clean, the buffet breakfast was great and the rooftop bar was amazing! The little Ho Chi Minh walks map at the lobby was also great for a couple of tourists like us. Great Hotel - friendly staff and quality service”

When we arrived at the Duc Vuong hotel in District One, we were instantly made to feel welcome. Duc Vuong rates themselves as 2 stars, however we would rank them 5 stars when it comes to quality and service. A lot of 3 and 4 star hotels could learn a thing or two from these guys. The rooms were spotlessly clean with free tea, coffee and popcorn snacks in the room. Toothbrushes, combs, body wash and shampoo were also available complimentary in the room as well as fast WiFi, AC and satellite TV. The rooms were a little small but eh, you’re not there to spend all day in the room and we only paid ~$25/night including a buffet breakfast. Also, did I mention the rooftop garden bar, where you can order a pretty tasty evening meal and a cold beer. The views from the rooftop garden are spectacular. We would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyable stay”

We stayed at duc vuong for one night, and took bus 152 from tan son nhat airport to ben thanh market before taking a 15-20 mins walk to duc vuong. When we arrived we were given a glass of ice cold welcome drink and it was a godsend! Hotel is good if you are looking to stay for the night after exploring district 1 though its considered pretty far from the main attractions considering the scorching weather in vietnam. Staff speaks pretty good english and there was a very helpful and friendly staff who volunteered to give us a map and gave us an overview of the city out of her own initiative. Breakfast has a pretty good selection too. I would say hotel is value for money, and is recommended if you do not mind the walk from ben thanh in vietnam weather

Perfect location!”

We LOVED this little gem! We felt so fortunate to have landed here for our first 4 days in Ho Chi Minh City. The staff were just awesome and so incredibly helpful. I would stay here over and over. You wont be disssapointed. The rooftop patio is wonderful and the surrounding area was some of our favorite. Easy to walk anywhere or the doorman will have you a cab in a minute. We will be back! My stay in Duc Vuong Hotel was very enjoyable. I chose this hotel for its location where I can experience the way of life of the locals as well as the foreigners. There are many good places to have good local drinks and food. The hotel is located close to many places to visit and close to many shopping areas. The staff always make my stay in Ho Chi Minh enjoyable.

Friendly Affordable Place to Stay”

We were very happy with our stay at the Duc Vuong. The staff were always willing to help us with anything. They really tried to promote a friendly family atmosphere. The location of the hotel was ideal for traveling around Ho Chi Minh. We were able to walk to Ben Thanh Market and other places in the down town. Overall we found this a wonderful place to stay and would highly recommend it.
