Find hotels near Dong Tarn Beach in Pattaya, Thailand

This is an edit to my previous review where I mistakenly stated that Rabbit Resort was on "Ao Dong Beach". Don't know where that came from!! It is actually on Dong Tarn Beach right near Jomtien Beach. This room was where Mom and Dad stayed as we travelled together. The resort put us in one upstairs room and one downstairs room in the same small building, so we were close to each other. Mom and Dad enjoyed breakfast and enjoyed playing in the water off of the beach. It was nice for me to see them enjoy themselves. It seemed like we were the only ones in the water, the beach was not crowded at all, which made the experience much more relaxing than playing on a crowded beach.

Fitness center unsuitable - outdated. Multiple fitness centers in the area - Muscle Factory, Tony's Fitness, & newer centers close to hotel. Beware if requesting a large family suite - the suites are not not in the tower building. During check-in - receptionist informed us 'Farangs' could not use the discount coupons for the buffet. I asked why they were attempting to be so secretive. I explained, it is not secret 'Farangs - Foreigners' are charged more. Seemed like it was a language barrier until my wife intervened and basically told them to cut the crap. When we presented the coupons, at the buffet tower ticket window, the cashier told us the receptionist was incorrect. I was allowed to use the 10% discount coupon along with my Thai family. Bottom Line Up Front - For the family, this is the place for the beach, water park, rotating restaurant, and night markets. No night creatures or busy traffic issues.

Avalon is a bit on the pricey side, but the environment they offer is impressive. This low-rise 4 storey hotel is arranged in an L shape around the two pools, in beautifully presented grounds, adjacent to Dong Tarn beach in Jomtien. The downstairs atrium is beautifully decorated. For business customers or tourists alike, this hotel offers everything for a really restful stay.

Only really con was the 1st room we booked as detailed on agoda should have had a sofa. But it didn't. Needed it for a small child. The lad who cleans the rooms and maintenance works hard. Always smiles and say hello. Good asset to the hotel. Good friendly quiet feel about the place. Pool rooms new and clean. Small size but good. Queen bed. Pool is a lap pool, clean but strong chlorine sometimes. only 4 sunbeds and chairs assigned to the pool access rooms. Terrace room. 2 singles pushed together. New mattresses. Hard but comfy. Ground floor terrace didnt work, near toilets and road so anyone could walk in. 1st floor terrace better. No views, but large room and balcony. Water pressure weak. Standard room. 2 single beds. Large. Smell of mold throughout the place, probably due to damp by the sea. Rooms need to be ventilated more. Good location on dong tarn beach. Construction building road at the moment but when finished should look good.

Grand Heritage is a beautiful two year old property on Dongtarn beach. Location: the hotel is on Dongtarn beach, just North of Jomtien Beach. It has immediate access to the shoreline (no road to cross). We liked it because it’s away from the dump that is Pattaya central, and just north of the semi-dump that is Jomtien. The Pattaya City waterpark is two doors south, as is the tower w/ the gondola cars and revolving restaurant. The walk along the beachfront path from Heritage to Jomtien is pleasant, and it means you can find lots of restaurants as well as anything else you want nearby. It also means that you’re away and insulated from the ugliness as well. Walking along the beach, and looking at the other hotels, I’d say that Heritage has the best spot on the beach, hands down. I’d also say that its location is way better than anything that is over in Pattaya itself. If you’ve got small kids, this place is where you want to stay. If you prefer, however, the cultural delights and delicacies of Walking Street, then stay there. Appropriateness for families: We loved it. I’d pick it over any other property around there. We walked by and looked at the Jomtien beach hotels, and none were as nice nor had pools that were anywhere near as amazing (they were dinky, by comparison) When to go: off season is best. We were there in the first week of July, and often had the huge pool to ourselves. Also, if you want to walk the beach, check tide tables before booking so that you can be there when low-tide occurs during daylight hours, otherwise there’s not much beach. Beach: If you’re looking for an attractive, clean beach, don’t go to Pattaya, Dontarn, Jomtien, etc. ). Trash is everywhere, and is disgusting. But, you will find lots of sand dollars and shellfish buried in the sand. The water is very warm, but remember that’s from where all the trash came. Yuck. Go for a quick walk at low tide, but plan on spending your time in the hotel’s pools.

Our stay in the Welcome World Beach Hotel was a welcome break. The staff were so friendly and cheerful and always ready to answer any questions we had. The hotel has a large swimming pool and was also very close to a good clean beach. The restaurant has a qualtiy breakfast with an extensive variety. The rooms were large, well appointed and clean. The only negative point was the long entrance driveway, which was a task to walk from the hotel to the main road, however there was often a free hotel golf buggy available to transport you along this route. Overall a good value for money hotel, perfectly llocated and designed to enable you to have a great beach side holiday.

We were greeted on arrival by the staff who directed us to the undercover parking area. We gave a large 4wd car which fitted without problem. The checking in process was fast, and we were given 2 vouchers for a welcome drink around the pool. We later had 2 very nice "mocktails". There are 2 pools-- one saltwater and one chlorinated (lightly). The pools are in 2 lovely courtyard areas with lots of tropical plants. One pool has a huge artificial cliff-face with water cascading down. The whole resort has an attentuon to detail. The greeting at reception was friendly, and check in occurred in a matter of minutes. There is an elevator to access the upper floors. We had booked the cheapest room as there was a good deal on Agoda. The room was lovely, well decorated, modern, and clean. The decoration was in brown tones, with a seoerate bathroom with both a rainforest and hand held shower heads. Thr shower area can have a little bit of water go into rhe rest of the bathroom, as it is set up like a wet room. Thr room has a flat screen TV with english channels, and a balcony overlooking the pool. The large firm king bed was confortable, and the aircon worked well. There are blackout curtains on the windows. Considering this was meant to be the cheapest room on offer, I thought it was of a high standard. Breakfast was provided as part of our rate, and consisted of a buffet with asian and western dishes, and an egg station. The food was fresh and warm. This fairly new resort offers value for money. It is very well designed with very comfortable and well appointed rooms. The staff are young, enthusiastic, helpful, well trained, with a good command of english. The resort is kid friendly, and is a 5 minute walk to Dongtan beach. Thete are convenience stores nearby, ad many good and inexpensive restaurants in the Jomtien Complex. As a frequent visitor to Pattaya over many years who has stayed in a large number of hotels, I would say that The Agate is one of the best genu

This hotel was a great buy, and a pretty quiet place for me to stay in Jomtien Beach that avoided the craziness of S. Pattaya. The hotel is 2 blocks North of Jomtien Complex, off the main E-W road. The attentive staff was awesome, and went the extra mile to provide great service. This is a 2-star hotel that had a 3-star feel, and 4-star service. Note that this is in Boys Town, and the 1st floor of the hotel is a Drag Cabaret with a fun show. The "Gay owned but straight friendly" moniker of the hotel is very true -- a very gay atmosphere that never had me uncomfortable, and it was a professional and well-run smaller hotel. The balcony was nice, comfortable bed, large shower and well-appointed bathroom, good room safe, and the A/C was adequate and cold. TV had HBO and about 30 international TV stations, plus DVD player and each floor had a dedicated hi-speed WiFi access point that worked great. High ceilings, big windows, secure facility with en-suite bath, lift, spiral staircase and 24-hour front desk. No restaurant in the facility, but there is a bar in the caberet. Laundry service was excellent, returned next day and inexpensive. Based on strong gay theme, this is not someplace I'd take small children, because this is right in the midst of a "Boys Town" nightlife scene, but great as a budget-minded traveler. Many local bars and restaurants, as well as very economical therapeutic massage/spa locations that were awesome, I recommend DD Massage. 3 7-11 convenience stores within 2 blocks, 4 blocks (5 minute walk) from the beach.

Grand condo Lotus pool villa - the Villa is very spacious with 3 extremely good rooms and 3 bathrooms, each bedroom has its own air con and the main living area had 2, the beds are very comfortable, the living area is very spacious with everything you could wish for, flat screen TV, loads of DVDs and a huge comfortable lounge and fully equipped dining area, the kitchen has every mod con you need to cook up a storm and of the kitchen is a great entertaining area with another dining table and sitting area both very comfortable also, the pool is huge, very well maintained (everyday clean) and both the pool area and entertainment area are cleaned daily. Excellent WiFi. Check in was as usual a breeze and Joy and her family always are there for anything you should need, which we found we did not as the Villa had everything. A short 5/10 minute stroll down your private road is the electronic gate which opens directly onto the beach, it just does not get any better, and if your not into swimming in the ocean the is another massive community pool just for the Grand Condotel residence which while there you are one. There are many food eatery's also at this end of the beach, may a suggest the San Bar, a new fresh concept eatery with great service, food, and atmosphere. At stay at one of Joys Villas is a sheer delight, we will be back! I would recommend this villa without any hesitation.

I decided to celebrate my birthday there. It was away from the busy Pattaya area but easy to get to when I wanted it. the overall ambiance was relaxing and the rooms were just beautiful. The staff were very polite and accommodating and the facilities and they arranged a BBQ for me at the villa. Definitely a memorable experience for me! Will recommend this to anyone who is looking for a place to relax and enjoy private time.

If you need daily room cleaning, change of towels, bed turning down; a long wait for checking in and out, lots of people to navigate at breakfast when the hotel decide you should eat, small rooms with backstreet views at high price - go to a hotel. Otherwise, do what I will do from now on, stay in a condo like this one. Huge room with fantastic view, few people, quiet environment, great pool. Fantastic quality at very good price and right near the beach. I didnt see much of any staff, just picked up and dropped keys but the guards seemed friendly enough. Facilities great in the room with fully equipped kitchen and wifi, but of course you have to go out for meals in one of the many nearby restaurants.

the rooms are large and well appointed. there are two locations here; some rooms (and the main office) right on dong tam beach, and some rooms about one block back from the beach. amenities include access to a private pool, and the free breakfast was nice. the bar/restaurant has daily happy hour specials on drinks, as do most restaurants in the area. the staff was very friendly and helpful although some have limited english skills. would definitely stay again.

We had a backwards facing room, quite large with retro-fitted sound insulation windows. Breakfast of good quality is an additional charge - but unusually for Thailand, definitely worth it. Local bars are colourful and perhaps not for all combinations of couples! But if they don't float your boat there are others nearby, towards the beach. The beach in this part of Jomtien is good, and unaffected by recent storm-water overflows, which did give us some cause for concern when booking. Overall, positive.

The apartment is well worth the money. Its a remarkable view from the balcony. Nice and clean. Very modern with full equipped kitchen. Cleaning everyday if you want. Very nice bathroom. Good bed. Free and fast wifi. Nice pool with resturant who had really nice food. Will defenetive book this condo again. The lady who manage the condo is very serviceminded. The security guards do their work and do not let unknowed people in the condo complex.

Clean. A/C - works well. Tidy. Complimentary water, tea, coffee and a couple of tinnies in the fridge. Clean pool. Fab location - close to beach and bars but quiet and set back from the Thrappaya road. Reception isn't really useful so call Mr Lee (landlord) with your booking number, name and date/time of arrival. Tell him to be at reception when you arrive and he will be. His number is on the Agoda booking form you can print off. Will definitely go back.

This is an apartment, not a hotel. Nicely room overlooking the ocean. Fault in the bathroom, the shower, was reported and quickly corrected. Good service in general. The building has its own security staff and they do a good job. I got problem with the door lock and did not come out of the room, but this solved these folks very smoothly. They entered the apartment on the 18th floor from the outside and the lock was changed in a matter of minutes. There is a small store with groceries, a laundry and a travel agency on the ground floor. Many restaurants with different menus close by. Short distance to the beach. Private walkway to the beach and the port with key ensures that the area is quiet.

Small studio in large condominium building. Located 10-15 minutes walk from Jomtien Beach. Bus station to Bangkok airport and 24 hours Foodland store at walking distance.the unit I rented was newly renovated and included micro-wave, hot water pot and toatster and basic glassware and cutlery also a small room safe. The representativeof the condo owner was on site to take care of the check-in.
