Wonderful location with Thai welcome service mind”

Doi Tung Lodge is located in Royal Doi Tung project area which is very closed to Doi Tung Palace and Mae Fah Luang garden (5- min drive) Staying here, my family not only like mountain view room but also touch warm welcome from all hotel's staffs. Recommended .....

Nice hotel with great location”

doi tung lodge is a small, clean hotel with nice atmosphere. it's located closest to doi tung royal villa and mae fah luang garden, the main attractions of doi tung. the hotel provides a van to transport you up to the attractions (or you can walk, if you want a good uphill exercise). the mountain view rooms have a pretty nice view, though you cannot say spectacular. and if you get the ground-floor rooms, you can walk out to the backyard from your backdoor and enjoy the view and the atmosphere. staff are nice.

Convenience to visit Mae Fa Luang garden ”

Neat and clean room with in room complementary Doi Tung dripped coffee and special tea bags. It is very convenience to visit Doi Tung and Mae Fa Luang garden with shuttle service and all time.

Totally recommended”

Best lodging around Doi Tung, no doubt a tad expensive but can totally immerse in the immaculate environment and all the parks and sights around the area by foot or by the shuttle that the lodge is offering. Photos of rooms are very accurate.

A pleasant hotel in a lovely location ”

We went as a family of four adults to stay for the New Year period and was pleasantly surprised to learn that a wonderful New Years celebration of food, local dance, and entertainment was included. The staff were very good and made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The restaurant served good Thai food and is very reasonable. The breakfast buffet is good too with locally produced coffee. The rooms are comfortable, clean with a good sized shower. I would recommend anyone to stay there if they want to explore the mountain of Doi Tung.

Quiet resort in the heart of Doi Tung Palace”

The resort located just right next to Doi Tung palace. Very quiet and you can wnjoy the sceanary of DoinTung from the garden. There is only 1 restaurant to dine up there and they close around 20.00 otherwise you have to drive to the other place. The hotel just got renovated with vintage swiss cottage sytle. Worth a visit if you love the quiet place close to the nature.

Nice resort :D”

It's the only resort up in Doi Tung but overall it's a nice choice since you get to go to the destinations in the morning right before the crowd comes up. There's enough parking. The outside of the resort seems plain but the room was renovated so it's nice inside. However, I found that the ventilation system in the bedroom wasn't good due to the odor stays there forever. The breakfast was nice but the service could be quicker (filling up the food at stations, more variety, etc.)

Perfect place on Doi Tung”

the hotel is simple but nice. spacious room even with the extra bed with the nice mountain view(deluxe room.they have a large living room in the hotel building where you can watch tv, read a book or whatever.we stayed there the night before visiting the royal villa and mae fah luang garden and it is very convenient. we were the first one to enter the royal villa at 7 am. the hotel provide the minivan service from the hotel to the entrance royal villa. it is quite far to walk to the hotel restaurant but the hotel have the minivan service and the driver was very polite. we felt like we were royal family members. the food also excellent and big portion.i will definitely go back.

Very comfortable room with great service from smiley staffs. Also very convenient to go to all interesting places at Doi Tung. Breakfast is full with Doi Tung’s Products: coffee, tea, melon, pork. Delicious. Will stay again when have plan to Doi Tung.

Doi Tung Lodge is the all in one, they have more activities for all size of the family and all age of the travels, staff are very nice.

Nice place, reasonable price ”

Good location for doi tung travelling. Nice place , cute decoration and reasonable price. But there isn’t much activity to do, no garden or photogenic check in point. -> Good for sleep, peaceful environment.

Not what I expect, inconvenient.”

Not recommended for those without their own transportation. The hotel doesn’t provide any shuttle service & there are hardly any taxis available. All transportation has to be prearranged with the receptionist in advance. From the foot of the mountain to the lodge, it takes about 15-20 mins by car or motorbike taxi. The information provided by the hotel was unclear, I arrived late (approx. 6 plus in the evening) & there is no pick-up for me. I didn’t know the so call pick-up is in fact run by the locals & it’s chargeable. Accommodation wise is pretty simple, rooms are clean but not very new. The edge of the cafeteria has a nice mountain view & food wise are pretty alright. Plus point is that the lodge is just about 20 mins walk from Doi Tung Royal Villa & Mae Fah Luang Garden. Staffs speak very little English so be prepared but at least one of them is able to speak basic Mandarin.

The place to stay at Doi Tung. Great views from the restaurant. Make sure that the current construction is completed before booking.

Great views, but hotel is not well staffed”

Be aware that there is not much going on around this hotel after 6pm. I didn't realise that everything closed at 6pm, so I went out shortly after looking for dinner, only to realise that nothing was open for miles in any direction. I drove around looking for somewhere that sold food but couldn't find anything. The only choice was to drive to the nearest city, which was far. We ended up eating cashews and peanuts we'd already purchased later in the day, then washing it down with the drinks in the mini bar. I felt the hotel was quite overpriced. The first room we were given had a weird musty smell so we asked to me be moved to another room, which they happily obliged to. The hotel reminded me of an old UK bed and breakfast, although the breakfast in the morning was only average. The surroundings are superb though, if you like nature you'll love the scenery around Doi Tung.

Quiet location with great views”

I had a comfortable Deluxe room with a mountain view. the room was spacious with a balcony and all the advertised facilities all in working order. The hotel is clean, quiet and an ideal base for sightseeing but also for just relaxing. There is a residents lounge with a small library of books mainly about the area- mostly in Thai but some in English and German. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to run you the short distance to the gardens and royal villa. When I stayed the restaurant served only evening meals with breakfast and other food snacks available just up the road near the gardens. The food in the restaurant at dinner was excellent with good northern style pork curry and excellent fish and vegetables. Breakfast was the only real disappointment. Cold semi edible American breakfast or mediocre fried rice or rice porridge. They should do better on this given the price- but that would be my only criticism of what was otherwise an excellent 2 night stay.

Simply Hotel but everything is very clean”

The room is old but everthing in the room is enough and clean. Breakfast is up to the number of guest some day they will serve a set menu you can choose between boil rice and American breakfast, some day they serve the buffet line. The lodge and the Mae Fah garden is not in the same area but there is a van that drive up an down hill send the traveller between the lodge and the garden until 5 PM.

What a view!”

This was a different choice for me. I have always wanted to ride my motorbike along the Burmese border and this place was along the way from Mae Sai. I did not get a chance to see the sights in the area: Villa, Gardens, etc, but they look great from a short distance. Check-in and check-out were easy. Room was comfortable. Tv was tiny. No CNN/BBC as listed. It appears the Chinese have taken those channels. Sign o' the times.

Good location at the top of Doi Tung”

The hotel is in a great location at the top of Doi Tung. Not the most charming hotel configuration (more conference hotel style) but very convenient for visiting teh Doi Tung sights.
