Central location in Cebu. Handy to everything”
a good central location in the main city centre of cebu. good sized, clean, airconditioned rooms with free wi-fi. the meals are excellent value for money. a good selection of meals on the menu. drinks in the restaurant were also exceptional value for money. the rooms were a reasonable size with plenty of hot water. the hotel is quiet and private. the staff were all very friendly. i won't hesitate to stay at the diplomat on my next visit to cebu.

Great value hotel in cebu”
I would rate the Diplomat one of the best vale hotels I have ever stayed in..anywhere....room is good...great aircon and cold fridge for drinks...shower and bath room is fine...beds ok..cable tv....good ,regular room service...staff all helpful and friendly...any problem was quickly attended to..cafe was ok...not great but good enough meals for the price..many options close by....5 minute walk to robinsons mall to the left...10 minute taxi to ayala for pesos (that includes 20 pesos tip)...great little laundry service left about 150 metres next to julies bakery...got 2 kgs of washing done for 60 pesos(under $2 )...also great value massage and spa directly opposite the entrance(normal massage)....all in all...I have stayed at about 6 hotels in the cebu area...this is my first choice for value and service...try it...I do not think you will be disappointed....unless you only want 5 star type room!!...3 star hotel with 5 star service and value!!!

Service with a smile”
This is my first time in Cebu and stayed in Diplomat Hotel was not a bad idea at all. The hotel staffs are generally friendly and helpful. The room was clean, except the first room i got was smells of cigarette but i was told it was a non-smoking room. As i couldn't get my room changed, so i swapped with my friend. One thing to note is the morning noise from guests and cleaner along the corridor. It will be good if the hotel staffs can be more mindful with that as am sure there are guest who are still sleeping at 6.30am.

Really good hotel with good location”
One of the good surprise in Cebu, this hotel is a really hotel like in europe, good service ( but they forgot to tell you, you have to give 1000 pesos deposit before you get your room ), good location ( 5 min walk to robinson mall and lots of restaurants around ), everyday cleaning ( its not clean like in europe but for Philippine clean ), really good wifi. I really recommande the Diplomat Hotel.

Cebu trip 2010”
The hotel was really accessible.We walked from Robinson's to the hotel which is just 5-10mins away.I really appreciate the location since it allowed us to tour around Cebu without any difficulty.The staff were friendly and accommodating.If you're a first-timer in Cebu just ask the receptionists and they can recommend where you can go visit.The showers have hot and cold water, ac is ok and the room is big enough :) not to mention that outside the hotel there are cabs waiting to bring you wherever. City tour rate for the cab is P200 per hour.Plus you also get to have fresh towels,slip ons,toilet paper and clean sheets everyday :) :)

The best Hotel in it's Class”
It is our first time to travel in cebu city, together with my brother and sisters, and i did not have any regret staying in this hotel because of its affordability and accessibility to almost everything that we are looking for. Considering also that all the staff are perfectly doing their jobs, they are friendly and helpful, as well as the security guard on duty, they are polite and willing to help whenever we need their help, they are so courteous and yet they are very respectful to each and every guests. I am sure to myself that I am going to stay again in this hotel in my future visit to cebu city.

Practical and Convenient 3-Star Hotel”
the service in diplomat hotel is good. it could have been great but there was one instance that we requested something for room service when they said they could not at the moment since they are attending to an event. well, this kind of situation should have been anticipated by the management without sacrificing the needs of their hotel guests. diplomat hotel is in the business for 13 years already. we intentionally asked about this for the reason the this may correspond to the number of years the towels they provide have not been replaced. these towels smells clean, but looks really old. if we are that sensitive, my daughter and i will think that with the kind towels they provide is synonymous to how they think about and treat their guests - just ordinary people.

Well my experience at the Diplomat Hotel in Cebu City was great.The only surprise i got was when i got my room.Two single beds in a supreme room.Why does your add show a double bed and a single.I was told by staff this is what Agoda books.I would not have booked with Agoda if i had known this.That was the biggest disappointment of my three week stay at hotel.I will book directly with the Diplomat Hotel on my next visit.

this was my fifth stay at the diplomat. the staff here is great. i have to travel to cebu every month and the diplomat is the perfect hotel for me..the price is right..location perfect for my needs and i can't say enough about how great the staff is. just a 10 minute walk to fuente osmena, where there is a robinson mall and lots of places to choose from to eat.

Nice stay at the Diplomat”
I stayed at the Diplomat from 9 May 09 - 23 May 09. Check in was easy and the staff was very poliet and helpful. Room was comfortable and spaceous. On arival the in room safe did not work but with in two hours management replaced it with a new model. The Diplomat hotel is a good value and I will stay here again on any future visits to Cebu.

Diplomat hotel is in a perfect location to which a traveller would look for in an urban environment, it has the most accessibility to almost everything like dining, shopping and even when your ententions are to do business, there is always a place for you to do this things inside the premises of the hotel and even around it. It is also reccomended to those people who has a tight budget because the rates are so affordable considering that the hotel is definitely one of the best place in the city. It is also a big thing to consider is the security in the area, you can sleep tight every night because knowing that the area has a 24 hour security guard on duty.

Diplomat Hotel is a very clean and affordable hotel where service is very good and its right at the heart of the city. The staff are all friendly and are ready to extend a helping hand to customers who are in need of their services or to answer all their qeries that they might have in mind. It is near to some historical landmarks and most especially to basic necessities of everyday life. The wi-fi service is also very strong and was a big help for us in keeping up to date with our transactions.I would definitely recommend this hotel to other prospective customers seeking an affordable yet comfortable hotel to stay in.

Price is right”
this was our third stay at the diplomat. it's not a fancey hotel,but it is clean and the staff are very professional and attend to your every need. there is 24hour security which is always a plus. the hotel is within walking distance to robinson mall in fuentes osmena. there are always taxis available in front of the hotel. we travel to cebu the first week of every month and have decided this will be where we stay everytime.

Great Budget hotel”
I was extremely happy with the diplomat hotel for the price.. I requested to be upgraded to a room with a queen size bed which they did for me at no extra cost.. Room also came with a fridge and a safe which i was happy about...Only negative i have with the hotel is the wi-fi internet in the rooms which you have to pay peso for 3 hours use, a little over the top in price when 90% of hotels nowadays provide free internet.

Well Located 3 Star hotel with Friendly Staff”
Good staying, in fact most of the times I stay at the Diplomat. The food is bad and the Wi-Fi is slow and lousy, but the staff is the best in the Philippines, friendly, attentive, especially manager Mei, front desk Joan as well as bell men Balo and Corro who do their best to provide good service in a professional manner. Besides the food, one think I do not like is that for long staying guests, the Diplomat Hotel does not open credit card voucher so that hotel bill could be settled upon check out. All hotels in the world settle bills upon check out. With the Diplomat hotel, you have to settle your bill upon check in. That's a bit of an inconvenience, especially if you order room service, etc. Also, if you want to call a mobile in the philippines, that is not allowed. Only calls to a landline can be effected. Weird, right? But that's how it it is at the Diplomat. Another drawback is the ULTRA NOISY CORRIDORS each time there is a wedding celebration in the Hotel. I have gone through some of that and believe me, Filipinos can be some of the most noisy people on this planet Other than that, the Diplomat is a nice place. Enjoy your stay.

I always used to stay in this hotel when i came to cebu city. just 5 min away from manggo square. you can hit night club, live bar and massage shops also. people in the lobby is always kind and nice. specially joan in lobby and jinu who is security guy. i surely can say this is the good hotel with price.

A good place to stay for weary travelers”
although a long way from the airport, it was a relief to just unwind in the bedroom and just avail of the excellent room service. an easy 10 minute walk to robinsons and we could have meals at the fastfood area which to our delight had a cebu lechon stall. pasalubong items were cheaper here than shamrock. will definitely check into the diplomat next time.

When we stayed at Diplomat, i really appreciated its comfortable place, friendly and accomodating staff, who are always smiling to meat our needs. There room was very clean, comfortable bed, it was not noisy, my husband and i had a good stay. There room rates was cheap, it is a good price. The location is good with good accesibility for transportation, great parking space. There food was great, cheap.. I really appreciated my stay at diplomat. im sure im going to go stay there again when i go to cebu.

I researched reviews and the area before choosing the Diplomat and got what I was looking for. I may be an American, but I've traveled a lot and lived out of hotels in many places so I try to give a review relative to the area. This hotel is an older building and the rooms aren’t really fancy, but give a good, clean room for the money. The entry and lobby are nice. The Superior rooms are fair sized and the deluxe rooms are spacious. We had an older refrigerator in one room and an older smaller TV in another, but everything worked. The only thing I wish was improved would be the mattress and pillows were not very comfortable, but I recommend in general bringing your own pillow to Asia if you don't like very firm pillows. The restaurant served decent food at a good price and offered room service with a smile. The staff were very helpful and the exchange rates for currency were good. The best part is definitely the location. This Hotel is in a less tourist targeted business district. There are many shops and restaurants at great prices that will make you not want to go to the malls and tourist areas. Several of the stores and banks have armed guards so the area is safe for tourists that may not be as familiar with the Philippines. This area is good to experience a more realistic experience of the Philippines safely and eat and shop at great prices.
