Good hostel in Wanaka”
We were not supposed to stay in Wanaka for the night but we had a flat tire. Good thing there is Base! We booked through Agoda and checked in around 10pm with ease. Breakfast (cereal, milk, tea, coffee) available in the morning. Parking in the residential area. Staff was helpful, wifi good.

Excellent Value for Money”
Stoked with my stay here. I was only here for the 1 night, but it was the perfect place to stay as it was close to everything. Comfortable bed but the pillow on my bed was pretty average. That aside, no complaints!

Room is clean . No free parking space around the motel , only can park at the roadside of housing area near by. Good location which is next to New World . The heater is controlled by the motel , they will turn it on during the certain time only. Shared kitchen might need some cleanings as some guests not really clean it up after used .

We love the staffs. They are friendly, helpful, and kind. The room, bed, bathroom is super clean. The kitchen is a little bit small and lack some kitchenware (we have to ask somebody for lighter or matches to light the stove. I recommend that the accommodation should provide the gas lighter gun which is very safe and convenient to light the stove)

I stayed for two nights in 8 shared female dormitory. The room was wide enough, luggages could be kept in each cage under the bunk beds (can be locked, if you have own) which's pretty handy. The receptionists are polite and friendly. I enjoyed pop NZ arts wall paper in lounge area. Also, serial for breakfast was helpful service. Although, Monday night there was a party held till 1am. I understand it was a hostel service for guests...but it wasn't the right choice for me at night that I needed good sleep before drive great distance next day. Anyway, this hostel really helped saving accommodation fee and it worth.

Unfortunately pub downstairs is really noisy if you happen to stay over the weekends. Patrons talk loudly probably drunk into the wee hours. Had to put on ear plugs which helped a little but not much

Great budget stay”
Big room with comfortable bed and attached bathroom. Kitchen gas stove a bit hard to use. Free breakfast was nice. We enjoy very much. Highly recommend.

We had a nice stay in the center of Wanaka! The stuff was friendly and the place has many large shared areas. We had a double room with a private bathroom which was nice in general but unfortunately didn't seem like it was properly cleaned for a while. Thank you.

Aimed at the backpacker but we were in our 60's and found the place to be good value for the money. Room was a bit small but clean and tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was ok

There's a bar at the bottom of the property and rowdy people can be quite noisy at the street

Cleanliness done poorly, I found hair(ssss) on new sheets during my stay. The toilet was not cleaned on regular basis and they do not refill toilet paper unless we asked for it.

So far the stay are OK. But I think the facilities and cleanliness need to be improve. I trying to boil water using their electric kettle but what I saw in the kettle is yellowish stain inside the kettle and can be RUBBED! I had try to check another kettle as well it is also same. What I think the kitchen facilities really need to improve. But overall the stay are acceptable.

Receptionist was very helpful and approachable. Along the road and near groceries so for the location definitely will give 5⭐️. There’s a lift so heavy stuff would not be a problem. No parking but you can park nearby which is free. Room was clean except for the linen😞. Price is very acceptable for a night😊 👌🏽

Good wifi. Location is good which is very convenient for travelling in Wanaka. Clean in bathroom. Just being noise at night due to the pub downstairs. So far I can sleep well at all. As it may not be a season, there are not lots of people. It is a good choice to live in which the price is cheap with value compared to living in summer. Staff is so nice which they help you to solve your problem which I am appreciated.

The area is perfect, so central in town, it's the cheapest bar around, the rooms are spacious and the staff are all so lovely and helpful, especially Marvin and Ryan who helped us loads with a million different things throughout my stay

I always come here when I visit Wanaka why? The location, the price but I am starting to question the cleanliness of the place as for the second time that I have stayed I doubt if they even change the bedsheets as they snel like people have been using it for months. And the cleanliness of the commin kitchen is quite questionable as well. This time I have to think twice if I ever comeback. Although the price and the location is ultra convinient and worth ti.
