Fabulous stay!”
I had a real fabulous stay in Cocobana Beach Resort! The rooms are clean and they clean the room every day. It is a very quiet place on malapascua and you can relax as well. I had a nice view too the beach. I was alone on my journey and during my stay at Cocobana i got very sick and had fever. The staff are very friendly and kind espacially Maimai from the reception and Janet the massage girl. They made me everytime Kalamansi tee and they took care of me. I am very greatful to them. They supported me from every point of view

Very good place!!”
there are not enought of words to describe this place!! me and my friend had the best of times here. we extended our visit at cocobana for four more nights. the room that was given to us was big, clean and nice. the bathroom was good too. we had a fan and a safety box in our room. the room also had a terrace/balcony and the beach is just 20 meteres away. the entire hotel is nice with a nice garden with hammocks, there is a rooftop bar and a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. try the banana shake or the chicken thai basil the location is superb, its right on bounty beach. the entire staff was very friendly, sweet and nice to us all the time. the girls at the reception and the restaurant, to the owners and the cleaners.. all were very friendly. i would highly recommend this place. its nice and clean!

Nice seaview, relaxing, large And Clean rooms”
We enjoyed our stay here during the off, season (July) it was a Relaxing, quiet stay. We had a hut with seaview it has a veranda where you can Chill out And enjoy the seaview. Rooms are large And being cleaned every day. Breakfast is satisfying, dinner could be better not everything was available (low season) During the night (around 12) water was cut off and came back on around 6 in the morning. They sell plenty of water, but taking a shower after a night out was not possible. I would recommend the cocobana beach resort to everyone.

Strategically placed and well structured resort”
A very well-balanced and well-maintained sands, greens, trees, buildings etc. If you dont feel like swimming in the beach, they have their own pool. Staff are very polite. Although if you need anything, the only way to have them is that you go to the reception (the only con for me). We had the superior air conditioning room and we had a partial sea view (because some of the trees are blocking the view but i am fine with it). Four small to medium sized people can fit in this room plus it has balcony. If you wanna drink at night, its just a min walk along the shoreline to get to the other resorts offering booze. The overall experience, we had a very relaxing stay as expected in this resort. Definitely recommendable place.

Nice location, big room, not so great service”
This hotel has potential. Our room was nice and large. Unfortunately, the air conditioner provided did not cool the room very much and the double bed is situated away from the air con. After asking for a fan, which is advertised as a feature of the room on Agoda, we were given the run around and blatantly lied to about various things (eg. Agoda made a mistake in the ad, they didn't have a computer to verify what was advertised, etc). We were eventually given a fan, but it was unfortunate that we had to go through the process of arguing to get it. Other than this, we enjoyed our stay very much. The location is perfect, right on Bounty Beach and close to many other bars and restaurants. Sightseeing tips - talk to the guys on the beach about going for a private snorkeling trip - we went through Janel and Junior). It's very cheap (600p/pax) through them. The snorkeling isn't the greatest, but the trip around the island is worth it. Take a short walk to the lagoon in the evenings for beautiful sunsets. There's a nice hotel bar right on the beach with very comfortable chairs where you can watch it from.

Beach front”
The ferry literally came ashore in front of the hotel. Convenient but all these ferry boats spoil the beach. We didn't scuba dive. The corals near the shore are in poor shape. A bit better on the far northern coast (Bantigue). Some big gaps in the door and windows kept the aircon going all night and also invited in the mosquitoes! Most restaurants we ate in are good (and inexpensive), probably because they are all owned and run by expats (Angelina's, Little Mermaid, Ocean Vida, Exotic Dive). Bring your own water from the mainland. The tap water on the island is slightly salty. Didn't bother us for showering. There seems to be a lot of local stray dogs and they wake you up early in the morning. No fresh coconuts available in most restaurants which is apparently a result of the 2013 typhoon.

Low season, low service?”
We had booked an Air Conditioning sea view room, and the picture attached to it was a bungalow. As we arrived, they tried to put us in the big house with many rooms behind the swimming pool , with two single beds. We insisted for a double bed so they changed us to the bungalow which was the one from the photo. We were then happy but wondering why they didn't put us there right away. Finally, there was no warm water, so they moved us to the best room: for real it was sea view, it had a fridge, and was what we had been wanting from the start. So in the end, we were very pleased by the room, but it took some work. A disappointment was that the restaurant closed at 5:30pm. Probably because of low season (end of November). But also the service wasn't very present, it looked like an empty resort. Room service was done at 5pm, usually the time we came back from diving, so we declined it. We didn't feel like trying the breakfast, because we had short time before diving and were afraid that the service would be too long. Paying 70-80$, maybe these are the prices in malapascua, but it's really overrated...

Lovely stay at beautiful island”
Malapascua has been hit by typhoon haiyan, when we arrived end January 2014 they were still busy renovating. The people are very friendly and working hard to get back to business. The room we had was clean and good, many huts lost their roof but people were working hard to renovate it. A pity construction was going on almost everywhere but good to see that people survived and getting ready for new season.

relaxing stay on a paradise island”
The beach chalet was a great option, as it is very spacious, clean, and well designed with ample lighting, good air-con, and separate shower and toilet stalls. It is also close to the restautant but quiet at night. The hotel also has a nice small pool. The staff was especially friendly.

Good Value right on the beach”
The location right on the beach couldn't be better. The air conditioning was weak but the room did eventually get cool after several hours if you let it run. The shower was cold until I asked in the office. Only after I inquired did they turn on the water heater. After that the temp was ok. The shower was usually ok except for one day when the shower spewed brown sludge. Maybe it was rust and maybe is was mud. I let the water run and after about 20 min it cleared up. We tried to eat in the restaurant but were told that it was closed because food was not available. Malapasqua is a small island about 1 hour from the main island and all items arrive by small boats making all items expensive and deliveries uncertain. Still in all, all the other restaurants seemed to be open. The main attraction on the island is the scuba diving and this was certainly not disappointing. the coral is badly damaged and there is strong evidence of over fishing but the sharks are amazing. Definitely worth the trip!

Relaxed, nice staff”
We stayed at the beachfront huts. They were of rustic, native design, big, came with 2 twin beds. The rooms were cleaned everyday. Fresh towels everyday. I guess this room is for a family. The bathroom does not have a door, but the toilet and shower each have an opaque sliding door for privacy. Not private enough if just staying with friends. Only con is the water pressure is not strong enough for the shower. You'll have to make do with a pail and dipper. Room had a musty smell, which disappears when you turn on the a/c. Had the Filipino breakfast everyday - 2 small longganisa (local sausage), 2 eggs, garlic rice, juice and 2 cups of coffee for P210. Not too bad, but just one additional sausage would have made it outstanding.

Big rooms, no staff after 7PM”
We were assigned a big room with spacious shower and toilet but we are a bit disappointed about a couple of things. 1) The shower pressure is sooooooo poor! It's a struggle washing your hair especially if you have been swimming in salt water and you have a long thick hair. It will take you a good 30 minutes just to wash and rinse hair. 2) The toilet area stinks!!! Stinks of pee! The seat was not cleaned properly so it's got pee stain that ugh! Just smells! We had the toilet cleaned but when we got back, the smell was still there. 3) The hotel/resort has no staff after 7PM! LITERALLY! We had issues with our room and tried to look for anyone to assist and there was literally no one!! There were a couple of guys watching TV at one area of the place and we don't know whether they were staff or what. We asked if they can call any staff and they said they don't have contact numbers of any of them. For the price of this hotel, I would suggest giving this a pass and try other places.
