A fantastic, great Value-for-Money Hotel”
This hotel is situated in one of the premium areas of the Natal coastline, just a stone's throw from the main Durban beach front, and in a more desirable part of Durban. Situated high on the Umhlanga Ridge itself, it offers magnificent ocen views, creating the ideal holiday atmosphere. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was of a very high standard, offering a wide variety that will ensure something to satisfy all tastes. The room itself was very large and very well appointed. Having the Gateway Mall within walking distance is a bonus.

A very big thank you to all the staff from Coastlands Umhlanga. Special mention has to be made for INNOCENSE when we entered the friendly smile and all the assistance with our bags and special requests and secondly the precious Stanley from the breakfast buffet. I never met someone so dedicated and outstandingly amazing at his job. Our table had a nervous bride and groom to be and Stanley just turned their morning into a day they will never forget. God bless you and Coastlands you have a gem!! The food was just too awesome first class service. See you all next time Dana

We enjoyed a great short stay at the Coastlands Umhlanga, central location to shopping, beaches and the KSIA airport. Facilities were of a very high standard, clean rooms and bathrooms Staff were very pleasant, polite and helpful, especially the staff at breakfast Great spread at breakfast, with a wide variety to suit all tastes and preferences Will certainly be back! Home away from home”
We have had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding anniversary at this Hotel since 2015. And each year the service just gets better. So there was some confusion with the booking which James the manager at Coastlands assisted with. The room service is amazing, although the breakfast is lacking that perfect sausage or maybe some macon. Rooms are cosy with clean linen, perfect escape for the weekend. Try the Fleur de lis spa on the ground floor of the hotel, this is place is heaven. Gracious hotel staff are hard to find, but you will find them here. Which can only mean one thing, they take care of their people. Thank you to Philani for taking care of us. I have looked at other hotels, but always seem to comeback to Coastlands, you have set a standard.

I always prefer to stay at this hotel cause I feel comfortable and enjoy being close to the city but at a safe distance as well. My stay at Coastlands was excellent. The staff were very accommodating and assisted us with our various requests. Overall the location is fantastic especially the views overlooking the sea at the crest of the Ridge. Definitely will recommend this hotel to other travelers who are looking to enjoy a getaway in Durban.

the room was a little dark (which made you think it was constantly going to rain) but laid out beautifully. huge walk in shower. location of the hotel is really convenient as it's just up the road from umhlanga and just down the road from the n41 to durban. i'll definitely go there again!

The hotel offers professionalism from the moment you enter this luxurious hotel, it offers gym facilities for those trying to keep fit whilst traveling and an in house state of the art restaurant with gorgeous views, this helps when you are on business and just want to stay in the hotel after meetings and still be able to eat wonderful food. The rooms are all extremely modern and spacious. I travel to Umhlanga weekly and this hotel is my number one choice.

A lot of hotels can learn from coadtlands Umhlanga . Top notch service from the check in staff to the cleaners . Everyone had a smile and was very pleasant. Breakfast was devine and Stan our waiter was a true gentleman . Rooms were spotless clean and staff came knocking to check if we needed extra towels , soaps etc... That's a first for me .. Keep up the good work . An excellent hotel !!!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. You immediately receive a sense that you are a welcomed the minute you set foot in the hotel. The rooms are stylishly furnished and airy. The city view from the deluxe room balcony is one of the best city views a Durban hotel can offer.

It was definitely a pleasant surprise that the food was hot on service. RACHEL at main reception has a lovely warm personality so friendly n so professional with her smiling face. AMAZING SERVICE FROM RACHEL. house keeping lady also on floor 6. N porter n Saffron staff. Thank u. To these people. Few changes please.. 1. The lamb riblet's was aweful in carnivore snack platter. 2. Laken at reception needs to go 4 hospitality training. He's condescending attitude in front of house is bad 4 Coastlands group. 3. Towel were beautiful n soft but I hated the lint on it !! Washing machine filters need to be updated. 4. Robert also from food n beverage.. attitude is questionable . However good stay in would recommend to friends n stay again n hope Laken attention to detail n rudeness is hopefully changed by then.
