Find Hotels in Samut Songkhram, Thailand

We stayed for four nights at the resort. The villa was very clean and comfortable, set in pleasant gardens. Breakfast was taken next to the river each morning, where it was also possible to enjoy a drink. There was a large restaurant next to the resort. Although about a kilometre from the town of Samut Songkhram, tuk-tuks were easily available so transport was not a problem. Despite this, the people from the hotel drove us into town on two occasions. All in all, a pleasant stay in an attractive location.

Simple n nicely decorated room, although the wardrobe is painted over which can tell from the looks of it that it is actually very old. Place is walking distance to the railway market. Local night market few hundred metres away too. Hotel even provides self laundry service which I hardly come across after travelling in Thailand for so long. I had a very comfortable 2 nites stay which is highly recommended as not Many choices in this area.

We chose to stay at the Jaroenrat Resort because we wanted to go clamming at Don Hoi Lot. But this resort is actually a little out of the way. If we decide to go back to Don Hoi Lot, we'll probably select a hotel in Amphawa. Nonetheless, we had a very enjoyable stay and we did find clams at Don Hoi Lot and the manager was so kind to have them cleaned and prepared them for us to eat for breakfast the following day! The kids absolutely loved it. Did not get a chance to make it out to the pool because there is actually quite a lot of things to see in Samut Songkhram. Went to the night market in Amphawa and also stopped by to take a closer look at the many salt farms in the area. Beds were not very comfortable though.

This is a Charming resort with antique thai houses for rooms situated around a beautiful Colonial style house right on the Maeklong River. One can walk 200 meters to the ferry boat , which will take you to Amphawa town and the nearby railway market ( Tallat Rod Fai ). The next morning the hotel can arrange a river taxi to take you along the Maeklong and through a maze of canals to the morning water market in Damnoen Saduak.( 2 hrs. round trip ) This really Thailand with the Tha wood houses along the canals. Friendly and efficient manager and staff. The hotel / Resort is small but we liked that. For one or 2 day stay it should not be missed. Book the antique wood room as opposed to the " Garden View " room for more authenticity.

We stayed one night in Baan Pai Fah on March 7th. We arrived to Amphawa in the morning around 10am. I'm not going to lie, looking for this place was quite difficult. Luckily, we were able to contact the owner of the hotel via telephone. They instructed us to wait at the Kodak store where we borrowed the phone and came to pick us up and back to the hotel. This little cozy hotel is run by a small family. They only have 5 bungalows but the room and the whole environment are so beautiful and relaxing. They always have a little cafe inside the check-in area. Because the location of the hotel is about 10 minutes (driving distance) from the Amphawa Floating Market, the owner offered to drive us to the market and to call them when we needed to be picked up. If there was more to do in the area, we definitely would've extended our stay at Baan Pai Fah. Pin, the daughter, also recommended that we rent a boat out at night at the floating market so we can see the fireflies. It was beautiful! The next morning she made us breakfast just before her parents dropped us off at the bus stop back to Bangkok. Overall, it was great experience. Loved the little bungalow. Really enjoyed our stay with the friendly and kind family. High recommended!

The hometown is a cozy, cluttered little place that is easy to find on the main drag. I had booked a single room with a shared bathroom, but out of consideration for me, apparently because the private room was on the upper floors, and there is no elevator, she put me into a bunk bed room on the second floor. I was the only one in the room, a convenience I much appreciated... It being a Hostel, they ask you to take your shoes off when you walk within the interior. The problem with that if you are in stocking feet, is that the floors and staircase are lacquered, so they are slippery. If the steps were wider it would be better, but, just hold on to the railing... The air conditioning works very well, and the bunk beds were not bunk bed size, they were much wider. Each bunk has it's own light and privacy curtain. I had no problem sleeping. Wi-Fi was excellent. The free breakfast is a joke. It consists of white bread toast, instant coffee, and/or bananas. I passed. Plan on eating out...

I chose this hotel as I thought it was close to Maeklong, but actually about 5km away, via village roads. It was hard to locate as all its signboards were in Thai. Luckily I had arrived here with my own transport. That said, once you have settled in and have gotten your bearings, this is a lovely place to stay. The resort is still new, hence the very clean rooms. Comfortable bed, free wifi, you can park your car next to your villa, friendly & obliging staffs, and its quite near to all the tourists spots like Maeklong train station, Don Hoi Lod, Amphawa & Damnoen Saduak. The only irritating problem would be the mosquitoes, so do pack a mosquito coil or something here. Food here is not bad if you decide to stay in for the evening to enjoy the sunset by the lovely sala by the riverside. Note however, that currently nobody speaks english here though the resort owner is currently looking for a staff who does.

We loved the quiet and really beautiful place in the nature. The bungalow was painted with beautiful pictures on the walls and on the floor. It is absolutely relaxed there and the hosts are superfriendly and sweet. This place is very hidden and we would have never found it. Some friendly paramedics showed us the way to this place. You need a car or taxi. Next kiosk is a 2-minutes drive. Although we liked it a lot we think that the price is somewhat too high.

We booked the Baan Nite suite, my wife, two kids and a grandparent and were seriously disappointed. The the two rooms are above the bar and up a steep flight of stairs. The room was dark and the furniture old and not as shown in the pictures. The bathroom doesn't have a window, just a hole in the wall and is tiny. The food was very basic with most guests bringing their own. The bar had a karaoke going on until 2am making it very difficult to sleep. The staff were nice and helpful but the resort is massively over priced, like an expensive hostel. The staff were nice and it if the hotel charged half of what we paid, would be ideal for large groups who want to spend time together in a compact setting.

Overall experience at Lumphawa was very good. The room decoration is modern and nice. Most importantly, it's very clean and staffs are very helpful. I also realized all the materials used in the hotel are high quality and safety concern which is hard to find in local chain hotel. The best part is you can even see the firefly from your balcony at night!!!! Had a chance to have a quick chat with the owner during the breakfast. He's also very friendly and helpful person, have no doubt why the hotel are well managed and neat. Only one negative point is that there is no convenience store nearby and F&B in the hotel looks limited Highly recommend for couple, family or event friend outing.

Quiet location next to very small creek The place hard to find not as stated on Google map and telephone number not work plus English name not same as Thai name so confusion ensued. Owners and family very friendly helpful they tried to accommodate with falang type breakfast ie prepared spaghetti from 7/11 kind of cute Decor of room bit zany bright clashing colours all good fun and kitch nice peaceful surroundings and places interest a bit far need own transportation to get around ideally

Very nice and clean place, perfectly nice and helpful staff which speaks very good English. They prepared diner for us because we arrived late. The breakfast was made specialy for us because some of us are vegetarian and they prepared a special dessert for us because we asked about their local meals. The location is a bit far from the beach and city center, but it was nice and isolated from the main road. We highly recommend this place!
