"We settled in for three nights in this motel and enjoyed it very much. We were actually upgraded to a two-bedroom apartment though we didn't need the second room and left it closed to save the heat--Queenstown was having a cold snap when we were there (early February). It was great to have the separate bedroom and living/dining room and the kitchenette was well equipped. The owners were very friendly and helpful, always there when needed (during the posted hours), and the coin laundry was a great help (laundry powder provided). There is a steep walk down to town and back up but it's good exercise! Highly recommended."

"Stay at Turner was excellent. Very centrally located within a short walk down a bit a steep hill (may be difficult for those who aren't in the most fit condition but not too bad). Rooms are nice, particularly the master suite which overlooks the city. You can see the parachuters landing not too far away in the mornings. Second bedroom would probably be better suited for children as it doesn't have the same views and was several twin beds. Kitchen and upstairs lounge room were better than expected and had great views over Queenstown. Overall very good value for money and easy to get anywhere in Queenstown main city area. "

"The facility was beautiful, very well appointed, modern, comfortable, spacious and clean. There were quirks, however: there were 4 of us renting a large space with 2-½ baths, yet we only had one minuscule soap to share among us!! These are very nice and well appointed apartments but there is no reception area so we had no idea where to go, where to park, or how to find any of this out. When we called, the lady was less than helpful and only wanted a credit card number (even though it was fully paid) before she would tell us where to go. Very odd indeed and pretty much ran counter to every hospitality concept we might have. Once we were in, however, the place was great. Far from downtown (we stayed in town when we wanted to see Queenstown), but very convenient for our early flight the next morning. The location is quite isolated and not at all touristy so you can only walk to a couple of hotel-affiliated spots but they were quite good and very convenient. "

"Firstly the units are very conveniently located within walking distance of the main town and Gondola . The units are quite small and very close together .Unfortunately it was unusually hot while we were there and the units are like little ovens..There is no air con ,which is common in New Zealand .The office did however rent out fans which was a lifesaver .You get 1GB of free wifi between 4people and then you have to purchase it which is OK as you will most likely be out all day (and night ) anyway . The other problem was lack of parking as there's seems to be more units than parking spots .We came home to find that all the parking spots nearest our unit had traffic cones blocking them off and absolutely no vacant parking spots within the complex .We stopped an employee to ask where we could park and she moved the traffic cones . Despite that I would still stay there again if I was on a budget as it was still good value for money in expensive Queenstown ."

"We booked Marina Apartment due to its relatively cheap rate (around 50%). Upon arrival, we found it was stunning & really out of our expectation. The unit was spacious & tastefully furnished. Everything was in good condition. This beautiful unit is just by lake side & we could see the pretty snowy mountains around. Shopping centre is just within a few minutes drive. Surely, we would highly recommend others to choose Marina Apartment when travelling to Queenstown."

"My husband and I spent four wonderful days in Queenstown over the New Year’s holiday and stayed at the Alexis Motor Hotel. We selected this place based on outstanding reviews and it’s easy to see why everyone likes it. It’s located about a ten minute walk from the heart of Queenstown but enough outside the hustle and bustle that it’s very quiet at night (and this even included New Year’s Eve - but we were close enough to be able to watch the fireworks from a balcony and sheltered from the rain). We asked the proprietor for a recommendation on good sea food and he gave us two choices. One was a fairly expensive but highly rated restaurant. The other was a seafood shack on the Marine Parade that was cheap but really good. He didn’t even know the name (it’s Aggy’s) but knew it was a great deal. He was right! The rooms are spacious, clean, and ours included a spa. The view from our front window was of the Incredibles and the Frankton Arm of Lake Wakatipu. From the kitchen window (kitchen has cook top, refrigerator, sink, and microwave) we could see the gondola up to skyline. Not bad for a budget location. There is a charge for local calls and we had to make five to confirm or change tour reservations. We went to the office to settle the bill and they said it’s only $2 so forget it! What a great place and what great people! Note that they provide 30 min. of free internet per device per 24 hrs. This means that your best strategy is to log on early and at the same time each day."

"The location was exactly how I like - not right in the city centre (no noise, no crowd, no pollution), but very close it. By very close, I mean easily walkable. There's a short cut to reach the centre centre by foot - which is uphill (only about 100 meters or so - the rest of the way is quite flat) when you go back to the hotel but almost all of New Zealand has big ups and downs. It wasn't a problem for me although I had a bad knee scrape at that time. The room itself was quite spacious and the kitchen was adequately equipped. The staff were very responsive and professional. The room was serviced everyday (basic cleaning and replacing towels etc,) - I was surprised that they even did the dishes when I left in a rush left a few dishes in the sink. Like many other hotels in NZ, this is also easily reachable by Super Shuttle from the airport ($20). Overall, I had no complaints and had a very pleasant stay. I think it's very good value for money. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone."
