Phuphanam Resort is nestled amongst the gently rolling hills of the Phu Rua district in Thailand's northern province of Loei. It is about an hours drive from the Loei airport. There are about 75 rooms between the three low-rise buildings - the original stone and wooden structure and two later modern additions. The resort is situated on an expansive forested property, which also contains working orange tree orchards, a large orchid flower nursery, and some Thai farm animals. There is also a large bird aviary, which has some parrots, peacocks, and a pair of rare Great Hornbills. There is a large unheated pool, indoor and outdoor massage facilities, and a gym. These areas are clean and in good repair. The restaurant serves mainly Thai food, along with some basic western entrees. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The main activities in the area include visiting the national parks in the area, as well as touring some of the cultural villages of the hill people who populate the area. The Loei area has extensive flower and fruit cultivation and depending on the time of year, everything from strawberries to avocados to macadamia nuts may be available. One of Thailand's largest wineries, Chateau de Loei, is located nearby. I would describe the resort as a rustic country lodge, especially the main building, with its teekwood floors, stone walls, and wooden rafters. I would definitely recommend a room in this building. They are comfortable and spacious but don't expect allot of luxury as you're in the country. There are warm water showers for example, but not at the sinks. The main reason to stay here is to relax and catch up on some reading or take in the local nature hikes. There is free WiFi throughout.

I actually travelled with a friend and we found the staff (esp. El, Ying & Den) very nice, helpful & caring for their guests. The bed is so comfortable. The restaurant is not open for dinner but the staffs are very helpful and even suggested restaurants to dine with. And even before arrived, I asked for recommendations for places to visit around Loei and they gladly sent me a possible itinerary for a 4-day trip. They even provided us a guide/driver (with a very minimal charge) when we requested one on our trip to Chiang Khan. Overall, our stay in this resort is a very pleasant one & will surely recommend it to my friends.

Beautiful and Calm resort among nature. Easy to find by self drive with GPS. In the central part, flower garden is decorated. Next to the garden is a small lake where you are able to run or bike around. The separated restaurant building is the place where I tried dinner. The taste is impressive and price is reasonable. Breakfast set is plenty of quality and adequate for fulfill your stomach. Although guest service looks informal but staffs are so nice and I could feel caring in details. Hotel room has comfortable bed and full of amenities. Overall I'm very satisfied and wish to go back next time.

Super Hotel,super Personal. Sauber,jeden Tag Top Zimmerreinigung,aircon sehr gut,konnte man super einstellen. Morgenessen super,gibt für jeden Geschmack etwas und wird auch abgewechselt. It is worth the effort to travel to this resort- it is so beautiful and serene; the staff was among the best I have ever experienced in six different trips throughout Thailand, and the food is absolutely delicious and fresh. The town of Dan Sai is quite interesting and the people are quite friendly. The rooms are huge, furnished well, with terrific bathrooms. One of the nicest and most genuine places you will find in Thailand, I assure you.

It should be said: Loei is a far-flung town that few travelers seem to visit. There's very little English spoken here, in the town and at the hotel. But Loei Village will do its best to make you feel welcome. They personally provided transportation for me to a nearby park, and even drove me to a night market afterward for food. Bicycles are available for rent, for free. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet is exceptional. If you're in Loei, I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you for everything!

Parking is good but it took a few minutes to find someone who was understanding we wanted to check in and they just showed us to the room, they did not show us how things work or put on the air con etc, they also didn't ask for ID etc. The hotel is about 10 minutes from Phu Ruea proper and so is only good if with own transport. The hotel seems nice but lacks character. There is no fridge in the room which was rather alarming when traveling with a little one, nowhere to keep her milk etc. Breakfast was a buffet type where they had rice soup , toast, cereals and eggs etc but we were all alone with an occasional guy popping in with more sausages or drinks. I think the staff were trying to be friendly but they seemed quite shy. The rooms are large with nice balconies but we never saw another customer the 2 days we were there. Very quiet for November.

In all my travels I have never come across such a homely and friendly place to stay. Upon arrival we were treated as if we were part of the family, The Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant and relaxing stay. This is most certainly a diamond in the rough for any couples of families wishing to escape the city and wind down. The location is just outside the city of Loei situated in the countryside with views of local mountains. The rooms are very clean and cater for the foreign tourist. Breakfast was amazing and again caters for the foreign and Thai Tourist. I will most definitely be staying here again in the near future. Thank you to all the Staff at "La Place" for being so friendly and helpful.

It was my first time to visit Loei city, small gate town to national parks and Chiang Khan. Staying Loei Huen Hao Hug Hotel was pretty comfortable. It made me understood that I did not have to look for many hotel in Loei so much if I choose this cozy nice hotel. I haven't compared some but this hotel is one of the best hotels in my travel days in Thailand. Staffs are very kind and friendly, room is well organized, furnished in modern design, clean (as of DEC 2015), sounded by Tamarind trees. If you wish to spend quiet afternoon feeling sunshine comes in between the tree leaves, you can enjoy there. Price is quite reasonable and location fairly keeps closer to downtown. I should leave a few notes below. 1) You may be commuting from downtown to hotel by Samlo (Tricycle) though, better to come by Renta-car if you stay this hotel. 2) In early morning, hen begins to crow to wake you up :-)

This is very nice "resort" in one of the most stunningly beautiful landscapes one can see, nestled within a national park. It's no reflection on the resort, but as elsewhere in Thailland rampant agricultural expansion mostly of sugar cane is being extended right up to park and protected area boundaries. This land use is totally incompatible with these natural landscapes and terribly compromises the beauty of the area. Forests are being cleared, massive soil erosion is occurring and agrichemicals are polluting soil, waters bodies, and even fish and wildlife. Glyphosate (roundup), the cancer causing herbicide is the main chemical used in Thailand's sugar cane industry, has been found contaminating the environment everywhere sampling has been done in the country, with areas of Nan Province adjacent to Loei Province was recently reported to be a Toxic disaster by Thai PBS. So, despite the beauty of this location (if you steer your eyes away from the sugar cane) and the qualities of this hotel, the experience is less than it should or could be.

Through Agoda, we reserved a place in Loei called Muanmanee. I have to say that this place is definitely a nice place, although it was quite a challenge to find because it was hidden away into a small street. It is a bit of a walk to get to local restaurants around there. But the hotel provided bicycles free of charge, good wi-fi signal in every room, laundry service, porters and almost everything you would find in a five star hotel. The owner, a small young lady who moved back from Bangkok to her hometown in Loei, designs and runs the hotel by herself. A boutique hotel with a five star service. Here you would feel right at home. Sitting in the lobby is just like sitting at the living room of your house or walk across the hall to a small coffee shop from Doi Chang.

This resort has very clean and well-equipped rooms (TV, fridge, kettle, AC, etc.) surrounded by beautiful gardens. Nestled in the mountains of Loei, there are many country roads nearby for walking and / or cycling. The manager and his staff are all very friendly and helpful and able to advise on local beauty spots such as Wat Somdej Phu Ruea Ming Muang and Huai Krating Reservoir. The resort is best reached by leaving Phu Ruea via road number 21 and turning left after passing Chateau de Loei Restaurant ("milestone" #61).

All lodgings are a distance from phu kradueng mountain. Eateries/market/7-11 are a gd few km from Creek. Still, this is a great place to stay before/after u head up the mountain. Vast compounds, much effort go into maintaining landscaping. Wifi is strong. Good sized room, clean sheets. Host personally cooks western style breakfast for guests. And price is unbeatable. I'll stay again next Phu Kradueng ascent 😊
