The place was falling apart. My bathroom had black mold in an opening in the ceiling that was a result of a leaking bathtub on the second floor, I guess. Anyway, there was a hole in the ceiling and the black moldy ceiling plaster was hanging down. The shower curtain rod was one of those curved ones that was drooping down in the middle so the shower curtain would not stay closed. There were several white joint compound patches in the walls that were not smoothed or repainted. On a 4 night stay, housekeeping failed to clean my room one night and after asking that it be cleaned the next day, the bed was made but the trash was not emptied. The "free" breakfast was a joke - two choices of dried cereal, one stale pastry, and a couple of pieces of bread that could be toasted. The place simply demonstrated a lack of caring - Nobody seemed to care about how it looked or how it was perceived.
