Find Hotels in Kudat, Malaysia

The staffs were all extremely accommodating! We bought a mango along our road trip from Kota Kinabalu to Kudat and wanted to ask if we could borrow some utensils to cut it. Turns out, not only did the kitchen staff helped us cut the mango, it was then served nicely on a plate (covered hygienically with a clean-wrap when we asked to have it in our room instead of the dining hall). All without a single extra charge! Kudos to all the staffs! You are the reason why this was one of the best stay I have ever had across the world :)

Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our stay at Serendipity villa. It took some effort to find out how to get there without a car but that was our only struggle for the rest of our stay. As soon as we arrived we were taken care of like three princesses. As we were almost the only guests for our 4 night stay all of the staff members taking care of us 24/7. Every morning we enjoyed pancakes by the pool and the skilled cook Freddy cooked for us anytime we were hungry. He also drove us around couple of times when we wanted to explore the area. The villa manager and Freddy took us to Kudat to buy seafood for a delicious dinner, they arranged diving, fishing, snorkeling and and boat ride for us! Anytime we needed help or were stuck they were there for us. We also really appreciated our cleaners and the gardener who took care of the villa all day. Last but not least - the location was perfect - we had the most beautiful beach and super clean pool just to ourselves. We want to go back!

Since I have had travelled in many countries in South East Asian countries in every winter, this resort is the one of the best places. The beach is, without hesitation, the most beautiful beach in Malaysia and nearby tip of Borneo park is awesome. No noisy or crowd, almost private white sand beach in front of the hotel and allowing me a stunning sunset walk, amazing view of the sea and endless cool sea breeze. And so, I never turned on the AC , just sometimes ceiling fan was enough. Decent breakfast, but Limited food for lunch or dinner available bit other bars nearby. The owner is once educated in England and very generous and friendly manner, his staff is very attentive and helpful. The room air-conditioned, clean and enough amenities to make me comfortable. Initially, I had planned to stay here just for 2-3 days but ended up more than two weeks. I loved this place so much and will definitely come back. The room rate is very reasonable, compare to other resorts and I enjoy this rustic simple resort more than 5-star hotel!

This is definitely a beautiful place set at a beautiful location. Bear in mind that this faces the sea on a hill rather than attached to the beach directly. Nevertheless, it is indeed beautiful, exotically set up with simple but meaningful decorations. Ground staff were excellent, friendly and professional. Not to forget the cold lime welcome drink on a hot sunny day. BUT, my biggest grouse is that the staff from headquarters called to inform me that my booking was cancelled while I was having lunch in Kudat before check-in. And the calling staff did not even apologize or state the actual reason as the check in time was till 6pm and I received the call at 2.15pm. I was actually given an option to stay in the town in a 2 star hotel which I felt was insulting for a vacation that was planned at the beachside. However things were resolved after some stern feedback was given. I really wish this will not happen in future. Other than that one dark incident, everything else is beautiful!

Absolutely stunning location. You feel like you are in the middle of the jungle of nowhere. Serene silence from all civilisation and only the sounds of nature around you, while you sit in a longhouse, overlooking the rice fields lit up by moonlight only. Toilets are compost system, which is amazing. Filtered water is available. Showers are outdoors under the stars. Location is only a few minutes drive from the best beaches I found along the coasts of Sarawak and Sabah. The host, Howard, is a fabulous guy that does great work for the environment and culture of Kudat. Worth being supported in any way. Restaurant that is part of Tampat Do Aman is staffed with incredibly lovely people. Will definitely come back. Make sure you bring mozzie spray. It is after all, in the middle of the jungle.

This is a perfect place for a couple. A little hard to find. GPS gets you almost there. When the pavement ends there is a dirt road. Drive about 50 meters and turn left up a little hill for 10 more. There is a little house on the left where you can park. Then you have a short walk across the rice field to the little paradise. There is no internet connection. The view is amazing. Beach is a couple of kilometers drive. There's garbage on the shore like almost everywhere else in Borneo, unfortunately. However, the water is clear, cool and incredible to swim in. The sand is great and you can find some beautiful shells. You practically own the beach. The family is kind. We hope to go back.

Beautiful small villa huts equipped with working airconditioners and electric-gas hot water shower (if u need one) located by the beach. The place is clean and there is a small fridge too. At the beach we were able to snorkel in knee to thigh depth crystal clear water. There are sea gardens and rock formations along the beach. This made it fun for families with children. We saw the stars in the sky especially by the beach (away from the garden lights). There is no mobile phone reception, so this would be a great place to detox from the mobile phone and gadgets, though saying that they have a satellite wifi at the lounge area. (cuts off every 30 minutes). The food from the lounge / restaurant could use improvement. I wont say any more that. Next time i will buy seafood and barbecue it on the beach. I do recommend visiting here, it is a wonderful retreat and good place to return to after exploring kudat area. Will visit there again.
