If you are just looking for a place to stay/sleep that is inexpensive and located near a busy hub of activity, this could be the place to go. We have stayed at other, more expensive, motels at this same intersection and regardless of additional amenities that may be offered elsewhere, if you're not using them (we don't) you are just paying more for no real benefit.

So let me start by saying it was below 0 degrees, -18 for you celsius people. I pre-booked a room on Agoda, stated that I would be coming in late at night due to long roadtrip conditions, we wanted to get as close to MI as we could and this would bring us in right around 2-3am, weather pending. We arrived at the Ramada at ~2:45am, freezing cold. I noticed the place is empty, only a few cars in the lot. Upon being greeted by the front desk lady I was upset to find out that my reservation had been "Cancelled" due to no show. I asked what time checkout was, (11am), and explained to her that I can't be a "no-show" due to the fact that we are having this conversation face to face prior to my scheduled checkout time. This apparently is not their policy. She offered to let me purchase another room, because they "have plenty of availability tonight". I was still charged for my room and found another hotel. My company will be pulling our Ramada account, shouldn't have irritated the COO.

The bar was closely under where we tried to sleep so we were awake ALL night from yelling, vomiting sounds and oh I can't forget the fact that the smoking area was also under our window so we could not breathe!!! One young lady at 3 am thought it was okay to walk the halls hollering hello...at no time did the manager on duty do anything....worst experience and it will NEVER happen again and it's sad because the hotel was a nice place....get rid of the bar Hawthorne.

If you need a quick stay I'd suggest staying here. Facilities were nice (you can tell it was an older hotel that was remodled) though rooms were slightly small but not bad. Staff was helpful and friendly. Probably the best part was the breakfast. It's fairly standard as breakfasts go at hotels bow and days, but everything was hot and fresh at 8:00, which surprised me since it opened at 6:30 and there was hardly anyone in there (me thinking the food would have set for an hour and a half). Overall great place to stay if you're passing through the area!

we stayed in a 2 room, 2 queen suite. it also had a pullout bed in the couch. the room was lovely & plenty big enough for our 2 night stay. we were back to visit friends and had plenty of room for my daughters friends when they slept over 1 night and to have a small gathering in our room for lunch the next day. the girls & their friends enjoyed the pool. they did ay the water was chilly. i don't know if it's always that way or not. the pool itself was nice & the room was not overly hot & humid (nice for those not swimming). the chlorine levels seemed perfectly fine & the smell was hardly noticeable. the hotel is right across from the airport so near the edge of town. because it's a small airport it's a very quiet area. we didn't have any trouble with noise and our room faced the airport. we didn't eat any of our meals at the hotel's attached restaurant, baxter's, but i've heard good things about it. close by there is a buffalo wild wings, avanti's (local chain), mcdonalds, & moe's (southwestern i believe). the hotel is also close to a grocery store & shopping mall. everyone we ran across at the hotel was very welcoming & friendly!

Stayed for visit to ISU. Pros: Staff pleasant and helpful Rooms clean. Very nice buffet breakfast included with stay. Lots of food available. Attached to a restaurant with bar if you're hungry Close to ISU campus - probably too far to walk, though Lots of shopping within walking distance Cons Hotel is somewhat dated but several areas have been updated There is the smell of Febreze throughout the hallways. Unsure why. Outlets in our room were OLD. Trying to push plugs into the outlets caused the outlets themselves to push into the wall. Couldn't get plugs to stay in a couple of them. Queen beds seemed small, but were comfortable. FYI There is a reputation for the hotel being haunted. We didn't have any issues, so take it for what it's worth. Some people may consider this a "pro" rather than a "con". I'd stay here again. Good value for the money.
