Due to the location, this is strictly a business hotel catering to people that have business in the area. One warning, the hotel is located about 100m from a major road, but it is rather remote and without access to car, it is isolated and you have to eat in the hotel restaurants, which are good, but very pricey for Indonesia. Difficult to get taxi as they have to be called and are more available in the Cilegon city.

We had just arrived from traffic-laden Anyer about 2 hours away from Serang looking for a getaway from busy Jakarta. First impressions were very good, with speedy checkin at dusk and a big room facing the well lit pool. Unfortunately, they had a live band playing by the pool side, which we would have enjoyed if it weren't for our 18 month old's bedtime. Upon a complaint, we were told the show would go on well into the night and the management offered to downgrade us to the remote cottages a buggy-ride away. As it was already late and the hassle of moving would be a chore in itself, we declined and had to wait out the very loud music. Suffice to say it wasn't a pleasant night for us. The language barrier proved to be a challenge for us as well - they couldn't understand simple requests like "please leave the adapter and mosquito repellant at the front desk instead of sending it to our room" and questions like "what's on your menu for in-room dining" which was very frustrating. The breakfast buffet was extremely limited with few choices that we're not refilled often. Short-staffed meant we had to wait half an hour to get eggs since no one was at the egg counter - the chef was cooking in the kitchen. Despite having a dedicated spa complex, the service was nothing to be impressed about - the receptionist was also the massage therapist and the spa menu was poorly written and explained. The saving grace was the price which was cheaper than the Jakarta average. Serang as a city is also pretty dead so there was nothing to see. We left right after checkout without stopping by anywhere - the fishing village was hours away and didn't seem worth a visit. All other attractions in Banten itself would require at least a 3 hour drive. City not worth a visit, unlikely to come again.

As expexted from Santika Group, the staffs are friendly, the room and the hotel itself is clean, it's comfortable to sleep. The location is great, minimarket and local food seller/restaurants in a walking distance. Our room was near an emergency exit, not sure what was going on in the hall way, but we heard a door slam several time during the night. For breakfast I was hoping for a a lot more choice of food, the taste is good, but not the coffee. Overall my family & I enjoyed the stay. Thank you Amaris Serang.

Spent 3 nights at this hotel. It was a pleasant stay for us. The location is perfect for shopping and food. Best was the transportation options including ‘angkut’ that’s available and easy to grab. It’s definitely an affordable ride. No complaints during my stay. The staff were friendly and very attentive to request 😊. Most enjoyable was the clean, cool (perfect AC) and nice room smell. Thank you for keeping this place a great ‘home’ while we were there.

look, it really isn't a palace to write home about, but you aren't in Kansas now Dorothy, you are entering rural Indonesia. As a westerner who is accostomed to all kinds of hotels right through out SE Asia over 10 years, it gets the job done. Food serviceable, staff pleasant, business centre running reasonable Internet in, but very old and slow PC & printer & out of date MS office software, but gets basic jobs done, wifi in rooms patchy.. It is a Muslim country rural area with 4am call to prayers blasting out loudspeakers.. Obviously alcoholic beverages are scarce but some beer and very over priced wine on room and rest. menus. Convenience stores to the left and right..(no alcohol) and McDonald's/ Carrefour supermarket a 10 min walk (not at night) or Cab it. La Dian does the job for the price in Serang, I'd check for yourself if your thinking of having a honeymoon there!!..but is better than Ratu Hotel for sure ...just my Obs folks... Safe travels !
