Park and Walk Around . . . Attentive Staff”

Hotel located just behind Burnham Park allowed us to just leave our car and walk to the interesting parts of Baguio, thus freed us from the traffic. Of course, when we had to go to John Hay and Good Shepherd we used the back roads. Staff at the restaurant and front desk helped us settle down after a long (8 hr) travel from Manila, with late lunch (sumptuous boneless bangus) and coffee and ready room, which by the way was spacious.

Room 👌🏼 (it's an old hotel so don't expect new and clean&clear facilities and appliances but the room is spacious and there's a lot of cabinets)

we stayed here for 1 night only. we arrived in baguio around 6am and we asked them if the room is already ready for checking in. they advised us that the room is not yet ready but we can just leave our bags in the hotel. then we decided to take the tour. around 9am, they texted us that the room is ready for checking in. it's just the right time since we already finished our tour in camp john hay. the room is big enough to accommodate us. all is functioning well except for the lights near the door. also the double deck bed does not have a "harang". our stay is okay. the best thing in this hotel are the staff and the location. it's infront of burnham park so we have an easy access to our tour destinations.

Affordable hotel in a good location.”

We spend Christmas in Baguio and stayed at this hotel. About the room: Cost effective and it is located just beside Burnham Park. Access to transportation is just near the park. Water pressure is just fine. Heater is working well. TV signal is great. Bed sheets provide sufficient heat. Accommodating staffs. Any request for additional equipment can be given as long as there is someone in the room to receive it. The comfort room has no bidet. Wardrobe door is not closing well. Comfort room door is not closing well. Lighting is dim. Does not offer free breakfast. The hotel has restaurant and the food is ok. Wifi not tested. I did not use it. Despite some flaws, the room is fine overall, not too noisy and comfortable to stay in. If your vacation style is more on outdoors and just using a room to sleep after your whole day gig, then this will be enough for you, otherwise, if you will stay in a room most of the time, there will be other option better than this.

We stayed for one night on the 28th of feb. we arrived quite early in the hotel very tired, from the panagbenga float festival. The hotel staff told us that we have been upgraded to their presidential suite at no additional cost and that was definite plus. The staff Jade is very accommodating and helped us in directions and what things can be seen around the city. The room was located on the 5 floor where one can see the park as well as the neighboring mall. Breakfast was not included in the room rate that we payed for. But we were able to dine in their cafe for lunch and the food is inexpensive. The room was very big for just my cousin and I. Has a sala with television and a bedroom with 1 queen bed and a twin bed. Lots of cabinets but nothing else. The concierge was helpful enough to show us the use of the room key and the tv. One can really tell that the hotel is old and in need of renovation. And reupholstery of the sala set as well as the bed. The bathroom had some tiles about to come off near the bathtub area and could really use some fixing up. After taking a walk about the city we were very tired and decided to go to sleep that was when we noticed a very big stain in the bedding near the pillow. We olny used the queen bed coz it was big enough for two. The stain is very noticeable, but we did not inform front desk of it. And we wondered why the hskpg staff didnt even change the beddings when they made up the bed in the first place. We had to use the towels for added sheet to cover it before we slept on the bed. I think cleanliness is a very important factor when it comes to hotels/inn. The hotel location is near to the park, market place and mall. Just a few minutes walk from everything.

Good Location”

Visited Baguio for the 2nd time and we decided to stay in this hotel since its w/in the city the proper. Location is just at the back of Burnham Park. Walking distance to Baguio Night Market and lots of establishments that are just a walk away.

Good location, service is the best”

I would highly recommend this humble hotel which is just in front of Burnham Park. It was so close to Burnham Park that we can hear the alarm at 6pm. The location is in the center of all the tourist spots that's why it was easy for us to go back whenever we want to rest or if we left something behind. We never had issues with parking because it was very spacious. The service is the best. The staff were very attentive and they made sure that we have everything we needed. The room though is a bit old and needs a bit of renovation (It looks like it was one of the best hotels but decades ago). I would stay definitely here again.

Rather old fashioned but pleasant hotel”

The hotel is in very good location facing Burnham Park and about 10 minutes drive to SM Mall. The hotel itself is rather faded. but saying that, it has a charm that is rather comfortable. Friendly staff, decent food and large rooms (no aircon as Baguio is cooler than Manila). Reasonable value for money with sufficient parking at front of hotel.

A good one for a last minute booking”

The hotel room is good for a budget-friendly deal. Had a window and a bath tub - could not ask for more! The location is just right in front of Burnham and easily accessible to the restos too. Would recommend to stay here. Cons is just that may soap suds sa bathroom particularly in the bath tub area. Overall it is still good.

Non- aircon rooms but the weather is cold so its okay. Very accessible since at the city center. We just walked to and fro around the city proper.

So you might see a similar review because we booked two rooms. This is what I think of this hotel: City Travel Hotel is in a very good location. That's about it. It may look okay from the looks of its facade and lobby, but do not be fooled! Elevator: Too old that the floor numbers are all faded. It's creaky and worrying. Rooms: No aircon! We were not informed! Sheets, carpet, and curtains smell moldy. Beds and pillows are mega uncomfy. The spring inside the bed will hurt your back! The bed is too worn to even pass "being usable" status. Walls have chipping paint. You can hear guests from the other room. The staff are very welcoming and nice, but not even that can save this awful hotel. City Travel Hotel is simply too old and too worn down to even operate. And surprise! Surprise! At a slightly lower price, we booked a way better hotel called High Point Boutique Inn. City Travel Hotel is a one time thing. Even with the low price, it will not pass as a travellers nor a backpacker's hotel.

Very Good Location Hotel”

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and was a good experience because of the price and the location. Across the road from Burnham Park and an easy walk to Restaurants and Music Bars. There seems to always enough parking for Hotel Guests out front and only a short drive to Session Road and SM Mall. The Hotel fittings are old but clean and servicable. The free wifi is good and staff are friendly. I will stay here again.

The hotel is gloomy, old and screaming renovation. Dirty, grimy bathroom/comfort room...no wi-fi in rooms...our room has a very bad view of another person's residence with dog barking his lungs out all night. No aircon...though it's supposed to be cold in Baguio, Holy Week weather is very hot. We were fanning for most part of the night. They provided us with extra electric fan when we requested. The carpet is so old, likewise the tv, bed and other amenities. Some of the staff are not so mindful of the guests as they forgot one time to put the elevator to 'unhold' leaving the guests downstairs to use the stairs to go all the way up. The reception and most of the staff seem friendly though, and the security guard is courteous. Another good thing is its accessibility to Session Rd., Burnham Park, Public Market and dining places.

Old Reliable”

Hotel looks & slightly smells old; it was not a factor though as we only came in to sleep securely, comfortably & soundly. Its close proximity to Burnham, Session Rd & Cathedral is really a come on. Pluses are attentiveness of staff (front desk, restaurant & parking security).

Good Location Across From Burnham Park”

Very good location and some parking available. Across from Burnham Park so good for kids. Plenty restaurants turn left out of Hotel and a Macas and jollibee 10 minutes walk. The hotel is worn but what do you expect at a budget price. Good for a one night stay.

Not a family friendly hotel, need renovation”

From the time we enter the room smells like wet carpet,(amoy LUPA) the faucet was licking and some rust. The floor started flooding from our first 20 mins. of stay. There's no towel ready even for the floor,We called the Front desk to informed them that we can't stand the smell specially we have kids and we came from long drive to Baguio. They told us that they run out of towels... but will provide later.The room was hot at least they can provide an electric fan ready/ceiling fan at least 2 for the room so called family room. The hotel locations is around the residential area we can hear the dog barking that we can't sleep because of the noise. I feel just sorry for the housekeeper/room boy for going back and forth to do everything on all the floors just to clean and accommodate all the request of all the guest checking probably, Need more staff and hotel need renovation.
