Weekend breakaway”

We are doing a lot of traveling and prefer to stay in a City or Town Lodge. This was our 4th stay at the City Lodge Hotel at V&A Waterfront -Cape Town over the past few years and still belief they are the best in the country. The stall makes you feel at home, the location is perfect and the food is top class.

Hotel in a nice location”

This hotel is not on the waterfront, but 10minutes walk from the waterfront. It is in a perfect location to be able to walk to V&A, MOCAA Museum and all the action associated with the waterfront. In the other direction, it is a 5 minute walk to the CTICC convention centre and also walkable to a lot of other restaurants, tourist locations etc. Staff are friendly and the hotel is kept in a good working order. Due to the location, the hotel is a popular choice for people.

Great Location and competitive rates.”

Great location and value for money. Just a pity breakfast nort included in room rate but breakfast availabale at a competitive rate was great. Walking distance from V&A waterfront a great place to explore Cape Town and close to many central attractions.

Our Cape trip”

We enjoyed our stay once again. The location of the hotel is great for the Waterfront, without paying ridiculous prices. Which at the end of the day is a waste. The rooms are comfortable and clean and in superb condition. The staff have a smile on their faces, and that means that they are happy to help. Congrats. City Lodge you are in your "niche market". Standards have not dropped and it was a pleasure to stay at the Waterfront City Lodge . Keep it up guys, we will return....

City Lodge Waterfront -- Cape Town”

Cape Town is a beautiful city with lots to see, but the heart of the tourist area is the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. The City Lodge is just a short, easy walk to there, and the price is very reasonable for such a desirable location. The Agoda rate included free breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise -- and the breakfast is good! I would return to this hotel without hesitation.

Cape Town's best secret! ”

I had the best omelette ever at breakfast, made by Jessica, hold on to her City Lodge, she us a gem! Everyone of the staff members were courteous, friendly and very willing to assist the guests. Given the close proximity to traffic I expected to have a restless night, instead the bedroom was peaceful and tranquil, and I had 8 hours of restful sleep. I will happily stay there again. Overall my experience at City Lodge V&A was better than I've had at some 4 star graded hotels.

A great option”

We stayed here for 4 nights in December 2018. We were with my in-laws and all of us were very satisfied. My in laws arrived a few days earlier than we did, and they felt that the hotel staff were very helpful in getting them situated in CapeTown. I will say though, that the hotel did not respond to my emails about booking a car to pick us up from the airport, but once we phoned them it was sorted out very quickly. The location is very good, only 10 minutes to the heart of the Waterfront. They have a big parking lot, which was convenient as we had a rental for most of our stay. I didn't eat any of the food because there are so many great restaurants near by! Our room was a good size, modern, and clean. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Cape Town!

Very good”

City Lodge provides a good location at a budget price, as it is just an easy 10 minute walk to V&A Waterfront. The staff were helpful and there was adequate car parking. The rooms were comfortable, but a bit jaded. We didn’t use the restaurant. We were pre warned that there would be major construction works under way right next to the hotel and were offered a free cancellation. As we were only checked in for 2 nights we decided to put up with it, and were quite pleased that the works were ongoing between around 07:45 and 17:00 rather than the much longer periods that we were warned about. This was just as well, as the noise was horrendous with JCBs jackhammering concrete right opposite our (single glazed) room. The situation was made much worse, however as we were put in a smoking room (despite booking non-smoking some months in advance). The choice was open the window to try and get rid of the smell or close it to cut the noise. We would stay again based on location and price, but only if they could guarantee a non-smoking room further away from the construction works.

Excellent Standards”

The staff are amazing! Thank You for having such welcoming and accommodating staff. The location is perfect distance to V&A Waterfront and the city centre. Breakfast was Outstanding!!!!

Very convenient and comfortable”

City Lodge staff were very nice and accommodating. Hotel was clean and amenities were very satisfactory. The hotel is not luxurious nor do the rooms come with a view or anything spectacular. However, it is a convenient and comfortable place to stay and is located within a 10-15 minute walk from the Waterfront cafes and restaurants.

Stayed here for 4 nights in early January and returned for one more night before flying home.”

Good value hotel walkable from V&A waterfront. Plenty of car parking and decent enough facilities. Enjoyed my earlier stay so more than happy to return and to recommend.

Great location, great potential”

Located within the world famous V&A Waterfront precinct. Closer to most amenities like CITCC, Table Mountain, Seapoint Promenade, Kisternbosch Botanical Gardens, and great restaurants. The cons is facilities - could do better with cleaning the drainage system. The bathroom emitted a strong urine system from the toilet. Otherwise all was okay.

Perfect for an easy stay in Cape Town”

Great location,15 minutes walking distance by the charming canals to vibrating Waterfront, Hop on Hop off bus and boat at one minute walk. Free parking if needed! Warm and welcoming staff, nice food, I know were I will stay on my next trip to Cape Town

Great choice”

The hotel is clean, modern and staff are friendly. The rooms were of a high standard - the only thing missing was a minibar but I didn't need it anyway. Complementary tea and coffee are offered in the lounge up to 12noon. Wifi is good. It's a short and safe walk to the waterfront with a Balmoral store and espresso bar right next to the hotel for food and drink. I would stay here again.

Good location, good breakfast, and clean room”

The City Lodge is located walking distance to both the Waterfront and the city center. With small kids, we walked to both sites without problems. Security guards on the streets made us feel safe on the way as well. The room was spacious for us of four and clean at all time. Breakfast was also of good quality. Internet connection was not so well in the room, but at the reception area, it was all right. We were able to arrange a shuttle service from the hotel to the airport at 4 am at 350 Rand. This was convenient indeed. We would stay there again in future.

Good location, Helpful staff and Clean rooms”

Located about 10 minutes walk from the V&A Waterfront, the hotel was all we asked for at the price. Efficient check-in, clean and spacious rooms, friendly hotel staff and ample carpark lots right outside the hotel. Recommended!

Exceptional”

My husband and I would just like to thank City Lodge for the fantastic stay. Also for their superb service. We must complement them on their most obliging and friendly staff. The City Lodge is definately value for money”

This is a return visit based upon my previous stay. Will definitely be staying at the City Lodge the next time my travel is to Cape Town.

Good location”

This hotel is in a good location not far (within walking distance) from the waterfront. Far enough away to be quiet and close enough to be able to access it. Also a good affordable location for access in the other direction, the Convention Centre and also Long street is not too far away. The cable car is also a 10min drive away.
