AMAZING EXPERIENCE”
I stayed for 4 nights at the Blue Mansion with my sister - We were so amazed with the lifestory of Cheong Fatt Tze amd how this how evolve through the change of time. The staff were awesome from Daniel who is the manager from day 1 to all the other staff especially love the two men during breakfast who I regrefully forgot their names - they were so warm and cheerful in the morning. The breakfast was always lovely - The room was beautiful and clean,. I love the shower too. For a traveller like us who have been to many hotels , the Blue Mansion is a wonderful experience and it will always be in our happy memory - a bucketlist checked to live in a heritage Mansion! Grateful to the staff for making us feel at home and special mention to their old staff in his 60s who we also forgot his name- he made an effort to talk to us about Penang and gave us some tips - and also to the guards who makes an effort to greet us when we go home at night making us feel at home. I have stayed in the best hotel/mansion in my life. It was the best part about our trip. The mansion is spectacular, gorgeous and beyond beautiful. Every corner is stunning. Superb Breakfast - delicious and homemade jams were soooo rich and tasty. Our room was large, warm - chinese instrumental music playing all the time, great amenities, bathroom was so clean and beautiful - pool access to the room. Staff was very courteous. Every place in Georgetown is 5 mins walking distance. We lived like a king and queen at the blue mansion!! Worth every penny we spent. The tour to the mansion was so well explained and so so good. Im a fan of MR. Cheong Fatt Zte, the mansion he made and all the history behind it! We are definately coming back again. LOOOOOVE this place

Beautiful looking mansion”
Pros: - beautiful spacious room and mansion - comfortable beds - good location - nice little local delicacies in the room - tasty breakfast in the dining room with friendly server Cons: - air cond was definitely too hot for our room (yan tai) - we came in the evening around 5-6pm for check in, for a boutique hotel with the blue mansion class, they should have prepared all rooms to be comfortable when guests check in. In our case, all aircon were not turned on, water heater was not turned on, so we waited for some time to get comfortable in the room and to take shower with hot water. - the next day breakfast, we requested to take away 1breakfast as one of us needed to go to hospital early. In the hospital when he wanted to eat his breakfast, he needs to use his hands to eat eggs, as no cutleries prepared for his takeaway breakfast. - the wooden windows in our room could not be closed properly, with the aircond not strong enough plus the open window, had a not really good sleep. The blue mansion should take a better care for maintenance like that. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful mansion and a must visit when in Penang

Amazing Stay at Cheong Fatt Tze's Mansion”
When we arrived and stepped into the door I knew we were in for a special surprise. The Cheong Fatt Tse mansion was full of amazing history, everything seemed to tell a story. It was really amazing. It was like walking through a museum. I am happy that the new owner bought this place and made restoration to maintain the legacy of Cheong's. He was such a resourceful man with visions.

Historic Long Weekend”
We traveled to Penang to be surrounded by history. The mansion, room and tour was super. The staff was helpful, friendly and attentive. We had a dinner and a lunch at Indigo the restaurant on the second floor of the mansion. The set menus were quite good. We walked throughout greater Georgetown and enjoyed the architecture and delightful food. The only disappointment was breakfast at the mansion. The breakfast was bread for toast, limited selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and unimaginative food in warming pans made at 7 AM that was never going to be kept warm by tea candles. We went down Penang road to a bakery making traditional egg tarts--wow, much better choice.

We absolutely loved The Blue Mansion. The place itself has a rich history and is absolutely amazing in terms of design. All the staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful. The location is within walking distance from everything interesting in Georgetown. Food was very delicious as well. We recommend this place to anyone who wouldn't mind spending a bit more to enhance their experience in Penang :) P.S. As a guest, you get a free tour of the place as well as a 10% discount at their restaurant!

Novel experience ”
We stayed one night here at The Blue Mansion for the experience. It was beautiful to see how well the mansion was restored and the rooms were equipped with modern amenities. However, during our stay, there were some minor construction just outside our room (The Scholar Room) and it was quite noisy as we wanted to chill in our room during the day. As we only stayed a night, we wanted to spend more time relaxing in the room and also by the pool side. The room gets really cold at night due to the cement floor. But it is also very cosy, clean, comfortable and relaxing. Bathroom is huge and pretty. The courtyards are lovely when it is quiet as it can be very tranquil and calm. Staff were friendly and it was also nice to grab a drink at their bar. Food is decent - we had breakfast. Location is very central as you can you explore on foot or catch a GRAB (local Uber) to many places within short distances. Overall, it was a beautiful stay and I would come back and stay here again.

great hotel, but disappointed by the staff”
In general I loved our stay in Blue Mansion, fascinating architecture, a perfect mix of modern and traditional elements, great service, helpful staff. The restaurant is a must try. If there's something that's disappointing, it's the slow service in the restaurant and, they made us pay for the dinner twice. We only found it out on our second stay here after traveling back to Penang when I tried to ask back my deposit which I paid by cash. They insisted that we didn't pay our dinner so the deposit was paid for it unless we could provide any evidence. After coming back home, I do find the dinner bill we paid with the signature! I tried to call the hotel three times but nobody picked up the phone. To this point it's not about the extra 300ringget. It's a hotel I like and would love to recommend friends to stay. I just hope they can be more careful with the billing and professional with the management.

We loved every minute of our stay in The Blue Mansion. The restoration of this magnificent heritage property is immaculate and the rooms are wonderfully comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient, and the breakfasts amazing. If you want an unforgetable stay in Penang then stay here...or at least visit for a drink or join one of the tours (which don't intrude at all on the guests).

Gorgeous historic building and excellent customer service :) Room was very spacious and tidy but it’s a bit dusty on the bedside tables and quite a lot of mosquitoes around although the hotel did put some mosquito repellents in the room. Overall, we’re very happy during our stay at The Blue Mansion. Will definitely come back again!

The Blue Mansion offers unique decor and atmosphere in a house built beautifully to last by "The Rockefeller of the East." Only two other similar houses exist in the world outside China. This unique beauty is enjoyed with all modern comforts, and excellent food and helpful, well-trained staff by Malaysian standards. This is a must-stay, bucket-list experience which we loved.

The Blue Mansion got to be one of the most beautiful hotel that I have ever stayed. Historically rich and I highly recommend this to both foreigner and locals alike. Really cool experience to stay in a heritage building right in Georgetown! I'm definitely glad we stayed here, as it gave us a chance to really explore the mansion and take it it's beauty (at night the red lanterns light up which is really lovely). The staff were great, the room was nice, beds comfortable, and breakfast was good. We also had the opportunity to dine at their restaurant for dinner one night, and the meal was great.

the history of this mansion is amazing, we felt so honoured to be able to stay at this beautiful mansion for a few nights! do note that the mansion do not serve a wide spread of international buffet breakfast like what other commercial hotels do. however, the spread is good enough to not to let u start the day with empty stomach. please please make an effort to join the free mansion tour. the rich history and the restoration of the mansion will make one in awe!

A Testament to Passion and Dedication”
The mansion was nothing less than iconic. Steeped in illustrious history, the mansion had fell into terrible times before it was brought back to life by the passion and dedication of a local architect. The hotel that came out of the restoration project is a grand and beautiful property. It had a special atmosphere. We stayed in the Shantung room, which was spacious, clean, and well appointed, equipped with modern conveniences. The guided tour that guests can attend for free was also very informative.
