A great destination to relax and unwind”

The hotel is quite isolated from the urban parts in Koh Phangan but this is just perfect if you're looking for a nice place to relax. The hotel has a sort of private beach. We stayed in Supreme Deluxe and it was elegantly appointed. It was really spacious and clean. The bathroom was huge with big spa bath and we had a very long relaxing and perfect bath. The bed was also super comfy. The entire resort was very well maintained with a beautiful setting. The staffs were always smiling and polite. The breakfast was good but what make it so special was the sea view so we took our time sipping our coffee and enjoy the breakfast. Thank you Chantaramas.

Great Resort”

Koh Phangan is not the most beautiful island that I've been to, but the resort was fantastic. Great, fast service, attention to detail, quiet location, great staff who make sure that you enjoy your stay by providing amenities and entertainment. Breakfast is also top quality and in general the restaurant food is good enough for a few days stay, at reasonable prices. Very good wifi connection, lots of spots to relax, and the moon deck is awesome. The only thing to improve would be to provide more water, as they don't serve house water and you have to make a trip to 7/11 to buy big bottles and stay hydrated. I would highly recommend the resort to singles, couples, or groups looking for something a bit isolated on Koh Phangan.

Favorite hotel on Koh Phangan”

My husband and I stayed at Chantaramas for 2 nights while in Koh Phangan and we both agree that it was our favorite. At the time, we paid about $85 per night which I think was a bit cheaper than usual but the hotel was gorgeous and it was one of the most comfy beds we'd had while in Thailand. The room is gorgeous with vaulted ceilings and beautiful bathrooms. The shower was just a really good shower, which one needs sometimes and there was a large bathtub that 2 of us more than comfortably sat in. The buffet breakfast in the morning was pretty good and the pool was great. The beach was also beautiful. The location was fine for us as we rented a scooter and could come and go as we pleased, though, if you're counting on taxi's for getting around I would suggest a hotel closer to shopping and restaurants.

Relaxing Oasis”

Chantaramas was everything and more! Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm smiles and great service. We booked during "low season" so we basically almost had the resort to ourselves. Breakfast buffet was yummy and the staff stayed on top of everything, making sure everything was alright. Dinner was amazing too - very beautiful at night with all of the lights lit. Everyone was superb, especially JoJo, who gave us tips on the island and places to check out and what not to do, and a female a reception who took greeted us and took us to our room (can't remember her name - sorry- but she was training and was very informative. It was kinda rainy so most of the pool/beach chair cushions were put away, but that was expected. The moment we had a day full of sun, everything was out and available for use. LOVED the pups of the property, too - there were 5 of them! Super cute. Would def come back if and when I return to Koh Phangan.

Heaven ”

I visited Chantaramas Resort and Spa with friends in December 2016. The rooms are very lovely and the staff was very friendly! We decided to extend our stay for 2 more night and did not regret it at all! I did a Thai cooking class, we have movies in the evening on the beach and had a wonderful time soaking up the sun at the pool. I would highly recommend Chantaramas Resort and Spa to anyone looking for luxury and comfort!

Amazing resort with wonderful staff”

chantaramas means passage to the moon. at this resort the management, the design, the surroundings convey just how magical and spiritual this journey can be. our many and varied needs were catered for (vegan food, free film club, taxi service etc). if you want a holiday that dominates the sky of your life like a shining orb, head to chantaramas resort....

Beautiful hotel, but better for couples”

It was a gorgeous place. Lots of nice little touches in the room, everything smelled fantastic. We had asked for two twin beds, but got only one king sized. But they turned a lounge area into a second bed. The guy who seemed to be the leader at the front desk, did try to move us into a way worse room with two beds, and kept telling us it was better and we would have to pay more. It was a horrible room, nestled in a corner far away from the pool and restaurant, no view at all, and it looked like it was in the process of being renovated. When we balked at the idea of switching, he said even though it was a better room, he would give it for the same price as our original room, which was wayyyy bigger, with a HUGE bathroom, outdoor shower, etc. Left a bad taste in our mouths. He also said replacing a key would cost ? He said he would have to get it replaced from Bali, Indonesia. I'm serious. They would get taxis for you, but like most other places in Phuket and Koh Phangan, and even Bangkok, people would just look at you and make up an arbitrary number. Using a meter or showing you a chart of fixed prices for different destinations just didn't happen. You were getting gouged, but if you were from the states, the difference was 4 or 5 dollars. So not the end of the world. Their beach was in an area with very low tides during the day, so swimming in the ocean during the day is out of the question. It's knee deep for about a hundred and fifty yards out.

Beautiful hotel in quiet area”

Hotel was very luxurious and beautiful - from our room to pool area. There were alot of spots for sunbathing and relaxing. Staff was helpful and friendly. Every night staff brought some sweets and a letter wishing good night to our room - that was really sweet. Beach was lovely, but quite shallow and not suitable for swimming. Scenery was stunning, sunsets magnificent and love letters at the beach very romantic. Kayak rent was free of charge - you just have to ask. Food was average and expensive. Location was not that great if you want to move around. On the other hand, if you just want to relax it´s perfect. There were no shops and restaurants nearby and you have to take a taxi or rent a scooter to explore around. Our receptionist helped us to rent a scooter and everything went well - don´t have to be afraid to get ripped of afterwards (this seems to be common problem in Koh Phangan). Overall we enjoyed our stay and would reccomend it to everybody.

Lovely Hotel That Opens Right Onto The Beach”

On our arrival, the staff were very thorough in explaining everything to us. It was my boyfriend's birthday and I had sent in a prior request for something special if possible. The hotel upgraded us to a lovely room; we had 2 bathtubs! 1 in the bathroom and 1 on the balcony. We made inquiries for the island-hopping tour when we initially arrived on the island, and the hotel's front desk helped us communicate with the tour representative over the phone. That went very smoothly. The tour was brilliant. The room was amazing to return to after the tour; we really enjoyed just relaxing with the TV. 1 huge thing that I must mention - A while after I returned home after the whole trip, I realised I had left a dress behind. I contacted the hotels we stayed at on this trip and Chantaramas replied to inform me that they indeed had my dress. This was months after our stay with them! As we happened to be going to Thailand again soon, I asked if they would be so kind as to send it to the hotel that we would be checking-in to, and that I would be happy to bear all costs. They sent it to the hotel in Phuket, and I received it completely relieved! It was securely wrapped and postage paid. Chantaramas must have covered the cost as well. We were well taken care of at this hotel. I strongly recommend it!

Just perfect!! 5*****”

Beautiful little boutique hotel with only 50 rooms. Feels even less as you don't see all the little buildings hidden in a beautifully maintained garden. Romantic spot; remembers you about Pocahontas. 😁 TEAM: Staff is super friendly and excellently trained. (Special thanks to Anna for all the good ideas where to go and what to do!) ROOMS: are really nice with wooden floor, huge beds and a great feeling for details! Everything is super clean and smells even good. (No clue how they do this. ) Choose a Jacuzzi room and you probably have sea view. FOOD: Breakfast is 10 meters from the water and the buffet is well arranged with 4-5 people doing live cooking like smoothies, eggs or waffles! European food like croissants etc but you also get Thai food or salads. Dinner was lovely too. Prices are some 10-20% higher than outside but atmosphere is great and convenience has a price too. BEACH: Depending on the flood it gets larger or smaller. Sometimes you can walk a few hundred meters in knee-Deep water which is beautiful. Sunset included. Nice pool with pool bar and enough space to chill at the beach. (Pictures on agoda are not very nice and too old. The reality is so much nicer!) LOCATION: perfect for us. Not in the busy centers of Haad rin or thong Sala but in the middle of both. Perfect location to visit a few parties like waterfall or half moon party without having the party next to your bed. Rent a scooter and visit the whole island in 2 hours. Taxis are generally more on the expensive side on Koh Pangan. Negative: Nothing really to complain about. The Spa/massage was too expensive so we used the massage places in the city instead. And from time to time the kitchen is releasing some sewage water to the sea where the hotel beach ends. Would be appreciated to get this stopped. Honestly we will come back. This hotel is fantastic!!

Exceptional”

A little off the beaten path in Baan Tai but this resort was so beautiful and our room so spacious that it was definitely worth it! Large, beautiful shaded pool also set this resort apart from other locations.

great spot but a lot of work needed with staff”

Before I start we are not people who complain .We had a lovely stay in beautiful surroundings only down side is the staff.Not sure if more training is needed or just generally not treated right from management. They really try but have no idea what is going on right down to serving hot beer at the most expensive price on the island.Considering the money paid for this hotel we were really dissapointed. The breakfast was so bad only the egg station was edible.Bread for the toast was a brick.The internet worked everywhere all over the island but you had to sit in the reception or restaurant to get any service as Chantaramas rooms had nil service. If you want to charge the high prices at least give the service. A great place to stay with a few improvements needed. We would love to see you make this place the standard it could be.

Wonderful hotel, relaxing and great service”

Loved our stay at Chantaramas! We were there for four nights, and it was by far the most beautiful hotel we stayed at in Thailand. The room was amazing, the pool was beautiful and relaxing, the staff was so friendly and accommodating! We used the pool a lot, because the beach was not swimmable-- low tide during the day. But it was still a gorgeous view and we took a day trip to other beaches some of the days. Definitely recommend!!

This was one of the best hotels we stayed in during our trip and definitely the best we stayed in on Koh Phangan. The staff was really friendly and tried to help us with everything. The rooms were really big and the bed was just great. Location was just off the very busy haad rin and a good place to discover the island. We would definitly stay here again.

Lovely hotel, top of the pops! ”

Had a truly wonderful stay at the chantaramas, beach front BBQ available every night, jumbo prawns to die for, charming setting, wonderful staff, my only quibble is that the hotel shuttle bus driver left us in the taxi for an hour at haad rin after the full moon party and we ended up having to get a tuk tuk.

we stayed here for three nights over my 20th birthday and felt like we were in complete luxury especially for the price. all the staff were really friendly and happy to help with anything. our room was just amazing, huge bed that was very comfy, big tv and dvd player, nice terrace outside, a huge bathroom with great shower and out door shower plus a huge bath (the biggest i've ever seen!) also the resort in itself was just lovely a massive infinity pool just over the beach with beautiful views and lovely restaurant which was overpriced but very good quality some o our best meals in asia. ignore any of the bad reviews on trip advisor they make no sense! we would defiantly reccomend it!

Lovely resort”

Chantaramas is a really great hotel. The rooms are enormous, the design is very earthy and welcoming. Helpful and friendly staff. Everything was perfect. Sweet surprise every eve. Would def recommend!

Ranks high on a Thailand scale”

We were very impressed with this hotel. It is a bit more expensive, but with this comes a few perks. 1. Even the "regular" rooms are beautiful, spacious and feel very new. 2. The beds, compared to the rock-hard pseudo-beds found elsewhere in Thailand are very comfortable. Given that you're out most of the day and the main point of a hotel room is to sleep in, I rank this extremly high. 3. The staff were very friendly and quite attentive. The beach outside the hotel is nice and more or less secluded. Rent a scooter to get around. As long as you're driving in to Thong Sala (west) and not into Haad Rin beach (east), the roads are straight, wide and safe. East to Haad Rin is gnarly, steep and twisty and is the reason there are so many scooter accidents in Phangan. That said, Thong Sala is a bit dead in terms of night life. If you need a bit more bar fun, just grab a taxi into Haad Rin. At least the drives know the road well and are in larger vehicles--the better to shield you from drunken idiots on scooters.
