We stayed two nights at Chai Lai Orchid mountain view, it was a fantastic experience, which allows one to really enjoy the gift of the nature and be surrounded with positive energy. We all joined a jungle expedition tour offered by the hotel, we really enjoyed it. We understand that the profit of this hotel goes to Elephant conservation and support of the local community especially the women at risk. It’s such an honor to be part of the cause. Thank you!

Quiet enjoyment and privacy ”

This hotel was nice and located in mountains. the room was comfortable and quiet. the staff is helpful and kindness. moreover, you can play and give some food to the Elephants of the local people in the morning at a viewpoint of the hotel. it was exotic. However, the hotel is far.

Once in a lifetime experience!”

Woke up to a majestic creature outside our balcony & had breakfast while they were roaming around the sanctuary. Cannot express how much we loved our stay here in Chai Lai. It was definitely the highlight of our Thailand trip! The staff were so amazing and brought our luggage right to our room. If you don’t need your luggage, you can also store it at their front desk. We were also pleasantly surprised how good their food was with very reasonable prices. You have to book, I promise you will not regret it!

Amazing elephant experience ”

I had a great time at this place. The speciality of this orchid are cute elephants. They come to wake you up every morning and in the evening we could play with them during happy hours. Talking about facilities it was quite decent. Not like a luxury 5 star but quite satisfactory. Few times I had to call plumber to fix leaking taps in my bathroom. Bathroom was partially open giving forest feels. I really liked their vegan options at their restaurant as I could not get decent vegetarian food in entire mae rim it was a nice relief. The views were picturesque and relaxing. The staff was friendly and even helped me to record my videos hillside. Just social media influencers are given more preference over there as mostly people who visit there come for insta worthy pictures and videos. Best thing is they accept cards for even taxi bookings as I prefer to use my card. In Thailand in a lot of places they accept only cash and not cards. I will definitely visit again for cute elephants and beautiful views!

Great experience ”

We had a great experience at Chai Lai Orchid. The staff was really nice, the location was really peaceful. I would recommend only staying one night though as you get everything done that you’d want to do in that time. At night there were a lot of bugs, even with the net it was hard to sleep. The water coming out of the sink and shower was also not clean, still worth visiting I just would have prepared better. A great place, experience and initiative. After seeing how badly some elephants are treated in Thailand I would confidently recommend Chai Lai.

The experience is amazing”

Chai Lai Orchid is a gem. Being surrounded by beautiful scenery, warm staff and super friendly animals from a budgie to elephants can't be beat. The food is delicious and of course getting up close and personal with the elephants is indescribable. The hotel takes care of the nearby Karen village so almost all proceeds go to supporting the village and the elephants. The rooms are nothing to write home about. It rained for two whole days when I was there, so everything was and smelled damp. There are also bugs everywhere almost all the time, so it's not for the squeamish. My water heater broke and while the staff tried to fix it, they couldn't, and I had to have ice cold showers with a trickle of water two days in a row. Might have been the luck of the draw tho...

Staff are amazing but the experience is out of this world. Where else would you have an elephant visit your room at breakfast?!?!??The elephants are loved and respected. They have been rescued from an awful existence and are just happy and content. Oh, and did I mention the staff are amazing

A Hundred Times Yes!!!!”

I can not express enough how much this stay made me happy. The bungalow was perfect, clean, beautiful views of sunrises and visits from elephants. The staff all extremely friendly, helpful and always available. The food plentiful and delicious. The experiences beyond anything I could have imagined. The care of the elephants, and all of the animals very ethical, so heart warming. I will return and I will always recommend this place.

I love the elephants and the tour offered. I had a room at the river what I can absolutely recommend. The river is very loud though but it mad eine sleep like a baby. For the high price I would have expected a bit more comfort and that people keep as well the area around clean and collect all the plastic
