Great Stay”

We had a great stay at Cebu White Sands! What I liked about the resort during our stay: 1. Location, very close to the main road but not noisy. 2. Clean 3. Breakfast is good although they don't really have many choices on the food. 4. Their Sugba-sugba Dinner Buffet with cultural show (every Friday) 5. Their staff -- very friendly and accommodating. Great service!!! 6. Pool. They also provide beach towels which you need to return to the lifeguard after using. 7. Private beach, although not really that great but good enough. 8. Fish pond full of HUGE carp! 9. Refreshing welcome drinks. What I didn't like about the resort during our stay: 1. The bed cushion and pillows hurt my back and neck. 2. The plug for our room's bathtub is broken so the bathtub was totally useless. 3. Our room was a little old, water stains and rusts on the bathroom fixtures although this really isn't a big issue for me. 4. During our stay, there was a power outage one night which took more than an hour to resolve. Their power generators were not powerful enough to provide electricity for the air-conditioners so it was really hot in our room and we slept late because of that. We also didn't know when the power went back because you need to manually re-insert the key card by the door in order to have electricity back in your room. So it was quite inconvenient for us. 5. They restrict bringing of food from the outside which I find rather unfair. Hotel prices are quite overpriced (especially on food and refreshments) so I think they should just allow their guests to bring their own but up to a certain degree perhaps. 6. They only have one piece of bed sheet (although it is warm enough depending on your AC settings). They don't have comforters, but I think you can request from them if you want. I don't know if they'd charge you for that though. 7. Their AC does not cool the room enough although we already set it to the lowest temperature. 8. No dental kit. You need to ask them

Nice Hotel and wonderful service”

We booked our transfer to the hotel from the port which was very reasonably priced and hassle free. The car was clean and the driver was very friendly and helpful - thank you Romeo! The front desk staff were very helpful and polite and check-in was very quick and easy with a last minute request for an extra child bed handled promptly, without any difficulty. Rooms were a good size and having a bath tub for the kids was very handy! The only gripe was that there was no kettle in the room and instead the hotel provided a type of flask. We didn't really manage to find out where you were supposed to get the hot water from? The restaurant was excellent with an extensive international mention. The food was fresh and delicious (the Thai yellow curry was better than any we have had in Thailand itself!) and the waiting staff could not be more friendly and helpful. We were here to relax for a few days with the kids before our ongoing journey (not to see the sights) and Cebu White Sands definitely helped with that. The spa treatments looked great & were well priced although we didn't have enough time to book any in. The pools were clean and well maintained but there was a definite shortage of sunbeds with people reserving them with towels, but not actually using them or appearing for hours on end - that is something the hotel could do better with.

T'was a wonderful stay at Cebu White Sands Resort”

I have stayed in almost all of the high-end places in Cebu during my many visits to the city before moving to the U.S. Ar first I was hesitant to book Cebu White Sands resort because I did not know about this facility until I saw it on Agoda. I was encouraged by the nice reviews from people who have stayed there previously so I made the booking. Now it's my turn to share mine and my family's pleasant experience staying in this facility. My 5-year old grandson who was with me and my husband during the stay, loved the pools and the staff whom he befriended. He asked that we stay at Cebu White Sands Resort again when we visit the Philippines for Christmas later this year. Sure, we will be there again next time.

Classy, yet affordable”

Having stayed in many of the resorts in Mactan, I can say that this is the most classy, professional and relaxing resort I have stayed in so far. It's a rather small, but exclusive resort. The landscaping is excellent. The resort is beautifully decorated with flowers, palm trees, fish ponds, lanterns. The buildings are well maintained and designed and decorated down to perfection. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. Luxurious and classy are two words that spring to mind when trying to describe this resort. And the staff have the skills to match this. They were very professional. Especially did we enjoy the excellent service in the restaurant. You really get the impression that the staff have had good training in service and etiquette. They made us feel like royalties with their polite, quiet and respectful manners. There are two swimming pools in this resort. One big lagoon overlooking the beachfront. And then there is also one smaller pool. Each pool also has a jacuzzi. The lagoon was excellent and we spent most of our time here. The beachfront is not so wide, but the sand stretches way back into the resort, all the way up to the swimming pool. It`s a nice place to relax. The sand was white and clean and you could actualy walk a good stretch out in the water before the sand started to get murky. The beach didn`t really invite you to take a swim, but it was nice to just walk out knee deep in the water and enjoy the beautiful view of the sea. Unlike some other resorts, people trying to sell boatrides and jetski were not allowed on the resorts premises. There were however a couple of guys hanging out next to the resorts beachfront, shouting to get your attention. However, it was easy to just ignore them. I have been to resorts where these people actualy walk around on the beach, practicaly harassing you. It was refreshing not having to endure this here.

Great atmosphere, great service and great value”

we only stayed 2 days in the cebu white sands hotel but truly enjoyed every minute! after our very late arrival we experience a quick and friendly check-in and after shower felt in our bed and slept immediately without noticing much around us. in the morning we were positively surprised about the green lush surroundings in the hotel complex with palm trees and little ways between the pools and buildings. the breakfast buffet was large and everyone should find something for their palate (i am not really up for sausages and bbq food in the morning but had lots of other choices available). the two pools (one main pool for everyone and one smaller more private pool where kids are not allowed) are fantastic! the whole resort is very clean, the staff is super friendly and helpful and we absolutely enjoyed this hotel. i would like to 100% recommend this hotel especially at this very attractive rate! and before i forget it - the spa was fantastic!!!!

nice getaway”

I chose to stay my last night in Cebu away from Cebu City, to stay on Mactan island and enjoy a bit of beach and be closer to the airport. Check in was smooth, (how nice to be offered a cold drink upon arrival) and the front desk staff very helpful. I arrived a bit early, before check in and they did their best to accommodate me. The room was clean and the bathroom large and also clean. The entire resort had a laid back tropical feel, several large koi reservoirs and a very nice looking spa. The beach is small but I understand they do take guests out on dives for a fee. The pool was great and a lifeguard was on duty if you have kids with you, I suppose that is nice. It was a Friday, and that night they had a reasonably priced buffet dinner on the beach with a band and entertainment for the guests to join in on. Fun stuff, very friendly. Check out morning the breakfast buffet was a bit chaotic, a lot of the food trays were empty. One waiter there by the name of Max was awesome though and did his best to get me a decent meal before checkout. All in all, a very nice place for the price and I would go back again.

Clean hotel with a very corteous staff. ”

my experience at cebu white sands was excellent. i wanted to stay at a hotel which was not large because i wanted some peace and privacy. the hotel was fully booked while i was staying, but the place did not feel that it was crowded at all. the beach area is small and rocky, but just rent 1 of the jetskis available, and you can play at the ocean. i beleive they also have scuba lessons available. the hotel has 2 pools. i wish they were heated as the water can be a little cold at night. i stayed at 1 of the courtyard rooms. the rooms are clean, spacious and well decorated. the bathroom was clean and has running hot water. they also provide you with a full towel, face towel and a hand towel good for 2 people. all staff was also very polite and courteous. you would feel like you are vip. you are greeted good morning or good evening whenever a staff passes by. the only downside is there is no internet access in the rooms. internet access is only available at the lobby/restaurant area for free. if you wanted to relax at a private resort with a decent price, this is the place for you.

Friendly Staff and Nice Rooms”

We had stayed in Cebu White sands for 2 nights. Rooms are clean and decent. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is no doubt the staff at reception should be (or would be) helpful - they patiently helped us through check-in and check-out and they were happy to recommend which places/restaurants we could go for visit in Cebu. Other staff in White Sands were also friendly - they greeted and welcomed us back which was another credit for the staff. We also recall the security guards beside the beach were also very kind. Frankly this resort is a bit old and old-fashioned (maybe) but in terms of price and facilities this is a good resort. I also love the staff here

Will stay again”

my little boy and i loved our stay at cebu white sands. we loved the swimming pool and the food although expensive (if you love seafood try their "seafood fiesta" platter its good for two people..yummy!!). we mostly just relaxed. that's all you could mostly do at white sands. unless if you want to take advantage with their tour packages which are not included to your room bookings. staff are nice, friendly and helpful. the beach is too small you cant swim on it. but i took my little guy and checked some live little creatures (crabs, star fish, jelly fish..etc) when low tide. watch out for people at the beach selling services such as seado rentals and island hoppings. overall, we enjoyed it and we'll stay again at white sands!!

Yes, lovely hotel and excellent service ”

I came to Cebu White Sands with my two year old grandson, my daughter in law, my mother in law and another child. The resort catered for all our needs, luxury accomodation, good food, wonderful staff, the health spa (I was able to discuss aroma therapy with the staff). The beach was good for the children (the hotel shop had all the toys needed for the children), the swimming pool was faultless and the Friday night band was so, so good. The only negative comment is that I had to ask the room staff to clean the air/con in both our rooms as my grandson and I both had swollen eyes after the first night. The problem was solved.

Exceptional”

Cebu White Sands Resort and Spa is worth every penny. The pools are great. The ambiance is amazing and really very very relaxing. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. It's location is near restaurants and some other establishments. It is very easy to be located. Just one downside is the beach area. It's a bit small and not a really good view because of the small boats around the area.

Best relaxing vacation ever”

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Cebu White Sands. My friend and I visited Cebu and this was our last stop before flying home. The resort is everything I would have wanted for a relaxing stay. The exteriors had lush greenery and landscaping, koi ponds, strategically located facilities and great views of the beach and pool. Our room was wonderful--large, comfortable beds with clean beddings, modern filipino interiors, ample bathroom (with a bathtub), cable TV, etc. The hotel also provides water, coffee and tea for free in each room. I stayed at the pool and beach areas most of the time, though. It was exactly the relaxing vacation I wanted.

Beautiful property great staff”

White Sands Resort has a beautiful property that is wonderfully landscaped and maintained. The staff is excellent, very attentive, friendly, well trained with very good English and lots of them. My room was very nice, large and well appointed, while I did get a free upgrade (just good luck) I think that only effected location as I was moved to court side on the lower level. I was very pleased with the food, it was excellent, with good variety, excellently prepared. Regrettably smoking is allowed in the dinning area as it open to the outdoors, but it is a confined area and should have been smoke free. Most evenings there was very good local talent music or ethnic dancing show in the dinning area. Very enjoyable. The only real disappointment with the White Sands is the beach. While it does have sand for ten meters back from the water it is thin and with no sand in the water. At low tide you walk into the water on coral rock and tidal mud, (water shoes are a must) There are two good swimming pools to make up for the beach and one of them is adult only which at times was nice to have. If the beach was a disappointment the snorkeling was not. While I had to pay for a boat to take me to the reef it was worth it. The tropical fish were there in the thousands, with a spectacular array of species and colour.

Journey to Southern Part of the Philippines”

It is truly a good blessing after the fact that our original RCI booking at Casa Del Mar & Golf Resort turn out to be inhabitable thus a decision need to be made in order for us to secure a better place to stay. Cebu White Sands Resort answered our needs and we made a booking thru Agoda that made our decision made it easier because of the cost, Amenities offered, high class look of the resort and the good location that made our real purpose to visit Cebu and that is to see as many good places in Cebu Province.

Excellent servIce!!! ”

Excellent Service, staffs are very nice, honest and helpful. Great sea views, and all decorations are attractive in Cebu White Sands At Maribago Bay Hotel. We enjoyed a great buffet breakfast and took photos all around the hotel. Swimming Pool, Beach, Goldfish, are in grat design and a memorable place to have photo taking. The Staffs also helped us to arange the transportation from Hotel to Shoppnig Malls, in a very reasonable price. It can show its honest.

Wedding anniversary escapade at Cebu White Sands”

Cebu White Sands at Maribago Bay is a good resort place to stay when you want to relax and be pampered with the peace and quite surroundings from the busy city. It's clean and beautifully landscaped that is calming and soothing to your senses. The courtyard rooms are big and spacious for a couple or a family. Service is very good and the staff are warm, accomodating and courteous.Depending on the purpose of your stay, the pools are not huge and the beach is not also that inviting because of the motor boats that crowd the beach front area.The place is not crowded and congested on weekdays, so my advise is to book your stay there on any day other than Saturday and Sunday.Overall, the place is worth the value for your money.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cebu White Sands”

The rooms were comfortable and our daughter enjoyed the pool. All staff were friendly and polite. A beautiful setting, a pretty hotel. It was one of the few places where you didn't need to get away to get a good meal - we tried both the restaurant and room service and they were very good. Getting to the city wasn't a problem and the hotel makes sure you get a good taxi. We got excellent value for money. We found Cebu White Sands at Maribago to be an ideal place to stay if you want a relaxing vacation at a resort destination.

Very nice stay”

Overall the stay is a pleasant one. Reviews I had read prior to our stay complained about having trouble getting a taxi. We found that the trouble is if you ask at the desk they call the guard and depending on his workload and his willingness to leave his shack is how successful will your effort. We found that if you just walk the short distance to the road there are many taxis passing by and at most times even some waiting near the entrance. A word about Cebu taxis. Especially on Mactan Island they do not like to use their meters. If you are going somewhere on the island the trip will be too short for them to make any money. Likewise, if you are going to Cebu City the trip is too long. Be prepared to negotiate BEFORE you get in. As mentioned above the prices in the hotel restaurant are high. Leaving the gate turn right and follow the road around the curve to the left to the Maribago Grill. Good food and friendly setting.

Perfect for Relaxation”

My partner and I are just from Cebu City. We just booked the hotel via Agoda because of their best and low rates. Cebu White Sands is not a very very huge capacity beach resort but I perfectly recommend the place because it can drive you away from stress. Perfect place to get relaxed and share moments with your partner. Perfect for Family also to get more time to bond. The place was really peaceful and the landscapes are pleasant to the eyes. Not just a beach resort but a garden resort.

Great Resort”

i enjoyed my stay at white sands. the staff was friendly and the food was great. the day spa was one of the best i have ever visited. we toured a few of the near by 5 star resorts and we did not like them as much as white sands. white sands has a good tropical feel to the resort and that is what we were looking for. next time i am in cebu i will be booking there again.
