Amazing host with a very welcoming and friendly family, always willing to help and always caring about my experience in her house and at Cat Ba. Very good breakfast. Helped me booking my tours and also with my bus ticket to another city. About the location, I loved to be in a more local area, but you need to walk a bit to the city center or get a taxi.
This is very personal, so it is not a complain. It was a very good and big bed, but the mattress was a bit hard for my taste.

the room was bright, airy and comfortable. the host and her family were very nice. the host was able to assist with arranging travel-related matters.
the bed was slightly uncomfortable, and the bottles of mineral water placed on the table in the room were not free (this fact should be made upfront)

We had a great stay here. It’s not too far a walk in to town. The host is often at work during the day but she is still incredibly helpful and replies to messages super quick. She organised a great boat tour for us and spoke to the boat tour company to make sure we would not miss our bus that evening :)

Spotless bedroom and bathroom, great AC and delicious breakfast! Thanh and her family are so lovely, kind and helpful!! Motorbike rental available at a good price. They also helped us purchasing bus tickets. It’s located 20 minutes walking from the center, but in the nearby there are shops and restaurants.

Cat Ba Mystery is managed by a lovely local family. The owner is very helpful and friendly. She found us the perfect boat tour in Halong Bay with a good price ! The room with private bathroom is clean and the bed is comfortable. Cat Ba Mystery is located outside the city center, far away from the street noises, perfect to relax and sleep well. To go to the city center, you have to walk only 20 minutes. Around the guesthouse, you can find all you need : pharmacy, supermarket, tea and coffee shops... It was a pleasure to stay at Cat Ba Mystery !

The owner of the homestay is very nice and helped us a lot. She speaks English very well. We were allowed to leave our luggage at her house when we were out for a 2 day boat trip, we could rent a scooter from her at a good price and she booked the bus to Hue for us. In addition, the meals we had at her house were wonderful! The room we had was nice and the house is in a rather quiet area of the town (only neighbors listening to music, but no loud bars). The distance to the city center is not too big (approximately a 20 min walk).

Amazing property, a 15 minute walk away from a lovely local beach and 25 mins from the city centre. Couldn’t have asked more from our host, she booked taxis, tours and anything else we wanted. She’s also a great cook, we had some of the best food of our trip here!

Good location. Main town is easily accessible by bike. Lovely host, willing to help with everything. We booked tour and bus tickets at a great price compared to other places. And a great breakfast. Rooms are better than expected for the price. Would recommend when visiting Cat Ba!

Thanh is a heartwarming, kind and very helpful host, that does everything to fulfil your needs. I had an amazing time at her homestay and getting to know the whole family was an honour to me. I would definitively like to come back to Cat Ba just because of her kindness and how amazing time I had at their place.

Amazing host and very good price”

- obviously for this price you cannot expect any luxury, bed and warm water would be more than enough for this price so this room was above the expectatins, there was even some beer available right in the room and the bathroom was really clean - the host was very helpfull, she booked the tour around the Ha Long Bay and booked the bus ticket for us to Sapa town, both for very good price and with all the comfort with picking us up right at the homestay - the breakfast was really good and each morning little bit different, there was plenty of it, we couldn&#39;t even eat it all - the host was all the time available on Whatsapp and she always answered all our questions via WA asap - homestay is located cca 30 minutes by walk from centre so you are not surrounded by so many tourists and all the noise but you can easily get there by foot or take a taxi for about 30k, that was perfect for us
- there was a little bit of noise coming from the upper floor throughout the night, probably caused by some animal

Lovely family”

The family is really nice and helpfull, the daughter makes a real good dinner!! The father even brought us to the ATM by scooter, so nice. They can arrange any trip you like! The homestay is simple and in a fairly busy street outside of city center (scooter distance).
Get used to the rockhard matrasses in vietnam ;)

Awesome homestay!”

The owner was super nice, the room was nice and clean with AC and private bathroom. The breakfast was home made and really delicious!!! The owner rented bikes for us, they were available like within 10 minutes after our arrival. She also booked seats in the bus when we were leaving from Cat Ba. She provided us with all info regarding what to do here - really amazing!

The place has everything you need. Breakfast is good, you can do laundry and rent a motorbike. The host is very friendly and helps you whereever she can. When we stayed at her place she was not around that much, but we could always contact her via Whatsapp!
The bed was quite hard, but most of the mattresses were like that on our journey so you get used to it.
