Cheap but (really) basic”

Convenient for an early start around Bromo. The staff was very nice and helped us with a plug convertor as we forgot ours!
Rooms are very basic. There were no towels when we arrived and they gave us one to share! Also, rooms are VERY humid. After one night our whole luggage was completely humid.

Great location but basic equipment”

Perfect location for Bromo hikes (though it’s already inside the natural park so expect to pay for the entrance fee before check in - 220k/ pers weekdays + 30k/pers town entrance fee). The room was very simple but it does the job if you’re here for only one (partial) night. The beds were comfortable but expect to bring your own liner sheets as they only provide a cover. Our room had a beautiful view on the volcanoes which was nice !
A lot of equipments were missing according to us, it would have been nice to have access to those equipments in the room or in a common area : kettle, water bottles, soap, etc. Again, very simple room, don’t expect much for one night.

Amazing location looking at Bromo!”

The location is fantastic; right on the rim of the caldera. Can walk to Bromo vent in about 45 minutes. The owner, Cahyo, is extremely helpful and will help you organize anything you like. Cahyo has recently renovated several rooms; they are basic but have what you need and are clean.

the owner organized for us to pick up from Surabaya. We did not need to take care about organizing a tour to Bromo too. We spent only a few hours in the homestay. not a lot of money for a short stay if you do not care about comfort. the internet was ok.
the shower was hot only, no possibility to adjust the temperature, the room was cold, and the bed was uncomfortable.

The location was great for the Bromo tours. The host is incredibly helpful and responsive. Two thumbs up. Cheap and cheerful. No frills.
It’s not the most comfortable or warm place. There was a fair bit of condensation. I get cold easily and found I needed another blanket.

Cahyo kept asking me where I came from then I told him, I was from Bandung then he gave ua a room that is smelly, the mattresses were thin, the bathroom is wet & smelly, mosquitos in the room, no sink, no mirror, no trash. everything is really bad. I could not sleep

Really close to Bromo if you want to trek there (1.5-2 hours go to the crate and back). Surprisingly, hot water was available. Helpful staff. Restaurant at walking distance (nothing fancy).
The homestay is located inside the national park, so there is no way to avoid the entrance fee, which is 220k/person. Just keep it in mind. Rooms are extremely basic: small space with outdated furniture. Would suggest to replace mestresses as well as bedding. Blanket is provided but note that the room is very cold at night.

Basic accommodation in a perfect location”

Fantastic location if you're planning to walk to Mt Bromo (location is less important if getting a jeep!) Hot water in the shower.
The room could be cleaner & there are no sheets on the bed - just a blanket. There was also a strange situation with the park fee payment when using the driver arranged by the guesthouse - it would be helpful if info on this was provided when booking the transport as it was confusing and I couldn't tell if I was being scammed or not (I don't think I was, but it was uncomfortable in the moment).

The location is perfect, it is a few metres to the caldera edge and a tremendous view of Bromo. The shower is hot and powerful. The host is very relaxed and helpful.
The bed was appalling... springs sticking out from all angles. I used my own camp mat and sleeping bag liner.

the owner is great, very kind and helpful. the location is fantastic, you are already inside of the park. the view on the road is very nice.
the building is under construction, there are 4 rooms but they are expanding, so there are workers and building materials in the entrance. the bed is pretty old and only a blanket is provided with no bed sheets, which is not hygienic. the bathroom could use a refreshing. it is ok for a short night before you go see sunrise but not to stay longer.
