Get what you pay for”

Booked here because it was the only place I could find that had a family room for 5. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel itself had a lot left to be desired. Bathroom was filthy, could see black mould in the grout. Carpet was stained everywhere. The beds were way too soft. We had gotten a family room, 1 King and 3 Singles, the pictures when we booked it showed 3 single beds. But when we got there it was 2 single beds and one rollaway bed

Good location ”

This hotel was situated near to she shopping district. The beds were very comfortable. My only disappointment was there was no obvious information that the hotel was under construction. We had the displeasure of listening to lots of banging at 930 at night. Apparently there had been a burst water pipe above our room, however it sounded more like an scripted excuse when we asked. Breakfast was pricy too, 19 dollars for continental was rich

Most of their staff are great. I’ve complained about a noise which then I’ve found out comes from upstair, then they gives complimentary breakfast for the whole family, which is nice. Hotel Rooms quite outdated. One minute away from Sunday’s Fresh food farm market

Good location and friendly staff. Convenient and lots of eating places nearby the hotel. 10-15 mins walk to the City Shopping area, Waterfront, Salamanca Place, Battery Point and Hobart Transit Center. 👍

Recommend - only just”

Excellent reception staff on check in, nice restaurant and bar area. Excellent buffet breakfast, one of the best we've had, however. Old dated room, curtains off their hooks on runners, bathroom not renovated yet so that will help when done. Noisy heat pump compressors. Average pillows. Pubic hair on toilet seat, I didn't tell my wife, so not cool! Just an average feel, not worth the money at all, if room was cheaper, some of the average things you can accept!

Great budget hotel”

Location is great and parking onsite a real bonus. Good room with decent facilities. Would recommend this hotel

Hotel near shopping district/all facilities as you want”

This hotel location is on uphill , few blocks from shopping district. Fitness is available on lower floor.

City centre at best”

The Saturday market is around 20-30 minutes stroll. The place slightly outdated but pleasant to stay. At times we could hear people walking & laughing but did not bother much during sleeping hours. Secured parking available at reasonable price, or leaving the car on the street pretty safe.

Nice stay great location ”

As title says nice hotel great location nice and quiet my only negative is the breakfast. Pastry section was stale and most fruits were tinned. In Tasmania I would have thought fresh fruit would be a nice alternative.

Decent hotel with nice location”

There is nothing to be hyped about - it's just a decent, somewhat aged property with slow but functioning wi-fi, convenient car park, central location. More expensive than your typical 4 star hotel, but hey - you are in Australia

Large Room”

Was a nice large room, very comfy bed, staff were nice and helpful. Hotel is not to far from the city centre. My only thought on improvement would be an upgrade to the bathroom as it was a little 80's looking

BW has the modern amenities one can expect”

Pleasant and conducive for a short-stay of Hobart and excursions to nearby places of interest. Formerly Mercure Hobart as found from the wall-mounted plate at the lift lobby, it has the basic and decent amenities one come to expect of the hotel. The limitless usage of Wi-fi available at each room is indeed a pleasant experience from the imposition of charges by many 5-star hotel. Bed and pillows are firm and comfortable and this is the most basic expectation most guests would come to expect of a 4-star hotel. The absence of deposit-security box is the only qualm we would express our concerns.

A nice place to stay in Hobart”

The Best Western Hobart was a nice place to stay within walking distance of the centre of the city and the waterfront (including Salamanca Market). The room was very well appointed (I was on the 5th floor, which was dubbed the 'privilege' floor) with a very comfortable queen size bed, bath and outside balcony. The restaurant was good although, as a solo female traveller, there was the usual issue of, once seated and the order taken, you then became essentially invisible as basic things such as refilling the water glass or asking if anything else was required simply didn't happen. This needs to be attended to. Overall, though, it was a pleasant stay.

Good value hotel in central location”

Modern, clean rooms. Excellent staff, was given a twin but mistake and was promptly adjusted and then given room on higher, city side. Only 10 - 15 minutes walk from Harbour/Salamanca Place. Next to shopping and also not to far from up and coming North Hobart. Recommend the New Sydney Hotel on the same street.

Lovely hotel with nice service”

good size, clean room with modern style of decoration. different from other hotel that i have stated in hobart which most likely will have old style of furniture. mercure still maintain the plain nice modern furniture. staff is really friendly and helpful.

Short Break”

Stayed at BW Hobart for 4 nights on a short break. Room was a good size, clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was great to be able to open the sliding door to access the balcony and fresh air Staff were friendly helpful and the location while on the edge of town was easily walkable. Didn’t eat at the hotel as I am not a breakfast person and there were a number of small restaurants close by where I choose to eat dinner at instead.

Comfortable Stay”

The room was spacious and carpetted, toilet was well clean. Room service was quick. Its a 10-15 min walk to city center and harborfront. Good value for money. I would recommend this for a comfortable stay

Good location in the city with clean and simple room”

It’s in good location with walking distance to Salamanca market and parks. Decent parking lot and good service from the staff. Didn’t use breakfast or any other facilities.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay”

We are a couple in early 30's and visited Hobart last week. It takes only 5 minutes to city centre and 10 minutes to waterfront by walk. It has a secure car park and is only $10.00 per day, which is much cheaper than other hotels provide. Staff are extremely kind and helpful, I would like to especially thank housekeeping staff members to keep our room clean and tidy throughout our stay. We will definitely come back and thank you all for looking after us well :)
