Comfort and Freedom from Itch”

This is my second time this year to stay in Jacana and my first time with a friend. We were so disappointed with my friend's booked accomodation through a referred travel agency. The previous 'hotel' we stayed at looked like a motel in reality and had free itch factor in their bed. We suffered with sleeplessness on our first night in Palawan. In the wee hours of the morning, I immediately thought if how comfortable my stay in by the Bay, Jacana was. I chatted with my husband my concern about our circumstance and he told me, "Please book Jacana and transfer immediately for your well-being." So, I booked 2 nights (the rest of our puerto princesa stay) and after our Honday Bay tour, we transferred to the lovely hideaway my husband and I stayed in on May. My friend, who was a first-timer there, slept soundly on our stay in Jacana. We slept in the whole day and cancelled our Undergroud River tour since the weather is not good and enjoyed the simple and laid-back vibe Jacana offers.

Superb!!!.”

By the Bay, Jacana and Breakfast is highly recommended due to the following reasons. Firstly, staffs are attentive to the needs of its clients. They are willing to answer any queries and help the customers. Secondly, they served a delicious breakfast and almost ready when their clients wake up. They have a variety of choices of food in their accommodation. Lastly, the room and ambiance outside are clean. The customers will enjoy the cool surrounding because of trees. It is also quiet place to stay. Overall, this is an excellent accommodation.

Beautiful Sights, Friendly Staff”

Staff and owner were incredibly friendly and attentive, Room was comfortable, Quiet area

We had a positive stay overall. This is a newly opened bed and breakfast about 10 minutes from the town proper. It is a little away from the proper which makes for a quiet and relaxing stay but a little more difficulty traveling around. The staff is amazing and found ways to help us with requests that we had (dietary, laundry, etc). I would certainly recommend this place for couples and families that want to travel around Puerto Princesa but want to be a little bit away from the city. You can also easily organize tours (city tour, underground river, honda bay) through the hotel.

Delightful Place for a Relaxing Stay”

rooms and furnishings were very classy and of high quality, location is great - you can hear the birds, see squirrels, and go biking, service is excellent

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. For such a small and intimate place, their rooms are spacious and super clean. Service is also friendly and efficient. The owner herself was attending to my needs. It was great waking up in the morning and stepping out into the very beautifully done garden. They also have a hammock where I would lie in the afternoons - so relaxing! Breakfast was also good. They served me french toast with fresh fruit. It was just a short 5 minute ride away from the airport and around 10 minutes tricycle ride to the city center. Best part is the tricycle terminal is about a 5 minute walk away – so it’s really in the center of everything (minus the crowded buildings, traffic and pollution). They also have bicycles for rent – I used one and went by the coastal road where the view was just fantastic! I also reached the Pristine Beach resort and had a good swim. To top it all off, WIFI was very fast! For the price I paid, I definitely got way more than I bargained for. After a trip up north of Palawan, I stayed again here for another 5 nights. Highly recommended place!

Exceptional”

Wanted to return for more nights but the location is a bit too far out. If your focus is to get away from the city and the rush this is good place to stay. Atleast they provided very fast transport services to come pick you up if needed. The staff is the friendliest out of the 5 places we stayed in Palawan. The internet was the fastest. If you like being surrounded by nature this is definitely a good choice. We just felt very welcome and would definitely return for another stay in the future. I would however note that the pictures here on Agoda caused minor problems. According to the pictures we were booking for two separate beds and got a single queen size. This was very important to us. Apart from this, thanks for the good experience. Keep it up =)

A quiet place to stay”

If you're looking for a more quiet place to stay in Puerto Princesa and is just minutes away from the airport then I personally recommend that you stay here. The manager, Ms. Sandra was very attentive with our concerns and even let us do an early check-in since our flight was hours before the check-in time. 10-15 mins away from top 5 best place to eat in Puerto even on a trike Will certainly be one of the places I'd consider rebooking in the future.

Hidden gem”

One of the best accommodations in PPS. The place is somewhat secluded BUT this place is highly recommended. You just need to take a tricycle to go out as this is somewhat far from the town proper... however, it was never a hassle as the hotel has its own on-call transpo. we enjoyed our stay here due to the homely, cozy vibe, CLEAN rooms, working facilities, good food and EXEMPLARY customer service. All the good reviews you see ARE true. Will definitely go back! Thank you, by the bay! We had a great time!

Very receptive and helpful staff, they are always smiling and friendly, helping with luggage and everything else you need. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The internet is good by Filipino standards. The breakfast is amazing. We liked it so much we came back from El Nido and stayed another night at By The Bay. I recommend it because the price is very good for what the place has to offer.

Quiet, comfortable refuge”

Lovely staff, clean and comfortable rooms, relaxed and quiet space

By the Bay is a little way out from most other Puerto accommodation, but this means that it is also much quieter than some of the alternatives - that said, dogs barking and cockerels crowing are the norm here, just as they are in the city centre. Rooms are surprisingly well appointed at the price bracket (but the price may reflect the slightly out of the way location) and the staff are really accommodation, even giving us lifts in their own private vehicles out of working hours just to make our lives easier. We do not normally stay here (I run 2-3 trips to Palawan per year with groups of naturalists), but were more than happy with the alternative accommodations. I would be happy to return without hesitation.

The By the Bay B&B is located in a quiet and green neighbourhood, but only a short (60Pesos) tricyleride from the city center, also not far from the airport! Rooms are big and clean, there is aircon, a flatscreen TV and a nice little bath. But most of all, we had the best time with our hosting family and the so very attending staff. They will also organize tours for you and make your stay as comfortable as possible. After our trip to el nido we actually came back again. Thanks for the lovely stay :)

Nice peaceful place away to stay. ”

This was definitely a value for what we paid & only a few downsides like a major ant problem and they would get everywhere if you had any ounce of food, they even got in the bathroom where there was no food. One of the days we had double zip lock bags so they wouldn't get into the sweets we bought at bakers hill and the next morning they were all over them. Of course I didn't realize this until after I took a bite. The other thing is that they asked us what we wanted for breakfast every night and sometimes would knock several times because they forgot to ask certain questions and each time we'd have to get dressed again which was a bit of an annoyance. I told the guy if breakfast was included as I didn't pay for that on the reservation but he insisted that yes. He said it was the continental one even though I repeatedly asked and doubted it and that turned out to be 400 pesos at the end. That was by far the worst breakfast we've had but paid it since we owed it. Friendly staff and pla

Birthday getaway”

Stayed here on November 12-15. The staff and owner(s) are nice and friendly. The place is small and cozy and near the airport. The lack of facilities is forgivable especially if your goal is to just have a place to crash in and keep your stuff. They have wi-fi but the connection is intermittent and you would have to be at least near the window/door to have proper connection. Breakfast is simple but tasty and they can pack it for you when the situation calls for it (i.e. your tour will start early in the morning). They also provide transportation by contacting a tricycle driver that will take you to your chosen destination and to bring you back to their place. There is nothing much to do here in By the Bay but if you want to be away from the busy and noisy streets of the city, I recommend that you stay here. You will be rewarded with the hosts' and their staff's hospitality.
